After multiple phone calls prior to the wedding to ensure there would be no issues, they still showed up without the proper equipment needed to play the music that had already been provided to them. Songs were repeated multiple times throughout the night, and at one point the family had to step in and fix the situation themselves. We literally had to go get an AUX cord and use the mother of the bride's personal cell phone just so guests could hear decent music and keep the reception going. A wedding DJ should come fully prepared and professional, especially after confirming details several times beforehand. Instead, we were left scrambling during what should have been a special and stress-free event. I would strongly recommend staying away from DJ CONNECTIONS if you want your event handled professionally. They completely dropped the ball and put unnecessary stress on our family during my daughter's wedding day.

Also, I understand Max was asked beforehand on 3 occasions to play only family friendly songs. He did not honor that request and played some songs with the F bomb, N word, and other vulgarity. Our daughter had to ask him to stop playing one song in the middle of it. 4. After myself and my wife spoke, he acknowledged me but not the Mother Of The Bride. After I contacted Fernando, he apologized and noted we did not put 3 asterisks by the bride's "DO Play" requests as his contract stated. She was not reminded beforehand that she had to do that for her requests to be honored. He also said Max forgot to write "family friendly" in his notes. However, it was readily apparent there were many young children present so it would seem he should be family friendly with his song list. Fernando initially only offered $100 refund and eventually $250 (about 9%) but $500 if agreed to not write any bad reviews. We opted for the $250 option so other brides could be told of our experience.

We used Capture the Moment KC at our wedding reception. It was a blast!…read more - The staff was great to work with - very responsive either via email or phone. - The photo booth is a great size. We fit 8 people at one time - It was definitely snug! - They customize the bottom of the photo strips to be any colors, fonts, little heart designs if you want. We practically got our own logo made. - Optional "guestbook" for the event where a copy of each series of photos is put in a book for guests to sign. (guests also get a copy) - Plenty of props come with the booth. Funny hats, pirate swords, a giant beer pillow thing. - Guests waiting in line get to see what's going on in the booth via a live stream to a laptop. It helped the line not seem quite so long at our reception. I have one qualm. We only had them set up for 2 hours, and of course me being the bride I was running around for a good chunk of it. They started to close up shop exactly at the 2-hour mark, which happened to be when my 4-year-old niece and I were headed their way. They Did Not make an exception for us. I realize their time is just as important and "I get what I pay for," but - no exceptions? Not even for the bride and her (adorable!) niece? Sad face. It all started by meeting with Mark prior to the wedding to customize the whole night, we talked about the ceremony, playlist, the bride/groom introductions etc. Mark has a sense of confidence, passion and experience for his work. He is a listener, and he understood how we saw the night going. The band seamlessly took/lead the (250 person) crowd from cocktail hour, to the ceremony, to the second cocktail hour, thru the dinner (we had buffet style so they dismissed each table)...they proceeded to kick off the speeches with kick-ass introductions for each speaker, those introductions were a surprise to us but it was crazy how they got the crowd involved - they played "tomahawk chop" before my father-in-law spoke. We did the first dance, father/daughter, mother/son dances...and from then on out the dance floor was full (I wish we would have had a bigger floor). The band had a way of gauging the crowd and keeping them involved. Whether it was the whole party rockin' out to "Wagon Wheel" or slowing it down with Lisa singing "At Last" (pretty sure my wife was in tears). I could go on and on about each song but overall it was impressive with how well they knew the pulse of the crowd. Finally, the band closed up the party and lead out my wife and I. They were the beat of the party, they were the reason that the transitions were clean. When you have a large crowd, you worry about "herding cattle" and progressing the night....that was all handled. Ultimately what I am trying to say is, Private Stock is more than a band. Looking back we cant picture that night without Private Stock. We can confidently say, it would have been a completely different wedding without them. Yes, he played music, but even more, he performed the role as our reception coordinator. Like many brides, I originally thought that I needed to hire someone who could just play music. After seeing many positive reviews of Michael's services online, my fiance' Justin and I met with him in person. During our meeting, we realized that Michael was the real deal and that we needed to work with him. Michael explained how he would do much more than just play music -- he would help with planning the reception events with us, he would routinely meet with us throughout the whole planning process, he'd make sure the flow of the entire event made sense, etc. And he did exactly that! We Skyped with Michael on one occasion and also met in person on a few occasions. We also met at our reception site with Michael so he could plan out the event details, the location of the grand entrance, etc. Throughout our planning, Michael also was very prompt to respond via email whenever I reached out with questions, ideas and concerns. Michael told us time and time again that our job as the couple was to just enjoy our reception; his job was to make sure that it ran smoothly. And Michael kept that promise. Justin and I danced, mingled, enjoyed our food, and had a wonderful time at our reception. We never had any question about what's next, where do we go, aren't we supposed to cut the cake at some point? When we needed to perform a specific task at our reception, Michael found us and briefly gave us a reminder. On the music side of things, our dance floor was crowded the entire night. Of course as the bride and groom, we were busy talking with so many people, so we were not on the dance floor too much. Following up with one of the bridesmaids next day, she said, "I was on the dance floor the whole night!" Michael's planning and organization services combined with his DJ expertise was worth every penny. I would absolutely recommend him to any bride and groom looking for a DJ -- and then some.
