I have not been to Punjabi's practice in some years, but I use to go on a regular basis…read more I had a severely sore throat and he told me to sleep off a cold, but if I got dehydrated, from not being able to swallow, to go to the ER He also prescribed an antibiotic, which I later found out was not the right one. I went to the ER and got an IV and then sought an Ears, Nose and Throat Dr, on my own, luckily I didn't need a referral, at that time. If I did, I'm sure Punjabi would've charged me another co-pay for a referral. I was diagnosed with tonsillitis and had pus removed with a needle. I got better and then weeks later got tonsillitis again and had a tonsillectomy. Dr. Punjabi diagnosed me with low Testosterone, although I didn't have any of the normal symptoms. I was prescribed a testosterone gel. He sent me to a Urologist, nearby, Dr. Solish. After I went to see Dr. Solish, Punjabi told me that he didn't like Solish and he was ready to retire and that Solish's partner was better. Dr. Solish did nothing for me, but try to be my psychiatrist and talked to me about personal issues. I found out later, when I talked to another Urologist, that I should have been seeing an Endocrinologist. I'm not sure whose fault this was, but when I got tested for testosterone again, it was fine and was told that the initial lab test was a fluke. (Dr. Solish has not retired, nearly 10 yrs later and still performing surgeries at Einstein.) Dr. Punjabi will do anything to get you to come in again. For example, if you get your cholesterol tested, he will tell you have to make an appointment and pay a co-pay to discuss the results and it was typically a lengthy wait. When he told me I needed to lose weight he recommended walking and told me not to worry about diet. My current Dr. communicates through email and will provide routine lab results or referrals electronically, without a visit.

I was trying to establish a pcp since I moved into this area. I had no idea what type of mentality…read moreor reputation this area has. I found out the hard way when I chose Punjabi as my a possible pcp. It is her husband not her who sees patients. Why? I think because he sucks. His beside manner is zero in quality. I never thought a doctor doesn't listen to his patient. This guy DOES NOT LISTEN. He has a dirty one track mind. If you don't fit his stereotype then YOU are in the wrong, not him... He actually said at the end of the horrid visit that because I was such and such, he didn't just throw me out of his office. WTF? I didn't know how to react. So I am posting this. He is a rude SOB who should stop practicing. It may help the community get a better reputation by not having such a negative ninny in it's midst. He had to give me my med scripts by law not because he is a good doctor. He sucks. (did I mention that earlier)

I use to be a patient at juniata family practice and so has very close friends of mine even family…read moremember and neighbors in my area . Anyways my personal experience was not always the best but honestly i believe they are official . by saying "official" I'm meaning they take the time to look into some concerns you may have they try their best to hear people out (not every co worker ) but i do think they are a good in trying their best to do their job. hey also have many people who get mad and take it out on saying bad things about their ways of working but i wish i could be a patient still to this day there i just missed 1 too many appointments and the policy they claimed they had to stick with. Although when they did tell me i no longer could come to their place for medication or visits i happend to transfer out to dr.wiseman which i was not thrilled about but i had i guess no option at that point and when i was not given my regular medicine the secretary went beyond reach to reorder my meds so im very thankfull for their help and wanted to stretch out this review in order to help people in deciding the right place to go when in need of making the right decision .. hey if im wrong about them then write your own review ;) much luck as well

They told me I should come back in and give another urine sample and more blood. I told them it wasn't easy for me to get off work and come in. They didn't care. 2. Dr Shah is horrible. Even the girls in the office will admit she is crazy. Dr Mohan was my regular dr. Dr Mohan liked to remind me at each and every visit that I am overweight. I could stand to lose 20 to 25 lbs. She wanted to give me the weight loss drug. She ordered Ozempic but none of the local pharmacies had it in stock. She had the office girl phone around and she concurred. She then ordered me Rybelsus. It was being used for weight loss, but it is also used for diabetic patients. I am prediabetic. My A1C is .1 from being diabetic. Its 6.4. I went in for my appt after picking up the Rybelsus. I mentioned to Dr Shah, who saw me, since Dr Mohan was out on maternity leave, that I wanted to try the Rybelsus. She blew up and commenced to screaming at me. She said that medication was for HER DIABETIC patients and that selfish people like me who are NOT diabetic but who are obese or overweight want to take meds from the people (diabetics) who really desperately need this medication. She told me how selfish and uncaring I was by wanting to lose weight by taking a med that her partner Dr Mohan prescribed for me. I was speechless. I never asked for ANY weight loss drug. It was suggested I take it since I am overweight and prediabetic. I was willing to try it until this. Then Dr Shah said she could NOT work with a patient who wanted to take meds away from her sick diabetic patients who desperately needed these meds to live. That I was a selfish person. She said she was ending our 1st visit relationship as patient/dr. She further stated if Mohan wanted to see me that was fine, but she would not treat me any longer due to me selfishness. I did not realize that there were not enough diabetic meds for the diabetic patients who do need it. If I was made aware of this obviously, I would not have decided to actually use it. I never did use it. In the end I threw the bottle away in the trash. I never went on any weight loss meds and am still overweight. This office is closing permanently now. I got a letter from Jefferson informing me of this. They are horrible Drs. Two of my adult children were seen here briefly and left due to poor treatment. 3. Also, I was scheduled for an MRI due to back pain. The facility provided the MRI said since you are claustrophobic simply ask your primary dr for 1 pill to take to calm you during the test. I asked Dr Mohan for something. Her response was how do I know you are having an MRI done? What proof do you have? I said the script, or you could call the facility to verify it. It is 1 pill. She declined. I am not a drug abuser. In fact, I don't really like taking meds. I like to be in control at all times. I am not a drinker either. I don't like being impaired. I told the MRI facilitator what transpired with Dr Mohan and she was shocked. She said no one has ever had an issue with getting 1 pill for an MRI. I did. It's like the drs are afraid to prescribe anything for you, I guess. I would not recommend either dr for care.
