Secondly I have pics of the back of the van to show there was plenty of room for my other stuff. The boxes you checked for insurance was to pays 60 cents a pound for damaged goods. Who in their right mind right mind would want 60 cent a pound as compensation? The extra you so graciously offered was 75 dollars . So 30 for my tv and 75 out of your kindness for a 500 dollar brand new tv that you made me pay 40 for a bok for it to not get broken. So I lost over what I paid u to move me and your gracious offer is 75. How about your smart elec employee who flared up in anger at my wife when asked about loading the rest of our stuff. And it goes on and on .what I signed at the end hasn't even been givin to me because he practically ran out my house . And no there were no boxes checked and it was 500 more than your estimate. All im asking for is you man up and pay for the tv you broke. You would want the same. But I can promise in no universe I live in would I ever sign for 60 cents a pound for my stuff. Several boxes were clearly labeled "Fragile"…read moreand "Do Not Stack," yet one mover ignored these warnings and stacked heavy boxes on top anyway. He also broke a desk during the move, and we now have to go through the process of getting reimbursed for the damage. He also did not speak English, which made communication very difficult and required us to direct him through each step ourselves, something we hired a moving company to avoid. The only mover who could communicate with us was clearly overwhelmed and, to make matters worse, the mover who could not speak english had headphones in during the move, making it even harder to give directions. Overall, it felt like we were doing the move ourselves despite paying for professional help. I would not recommend this company based on our experience.

I had moving blankets for my furniture and was prepared with tape and extras. Well, they said I didn't need to cover and all would be well. My white sofa was almost ruined. Wooden furniture scratched, dented, missing items. They used me because I was in time bind. I am a single senior woman and I trusted the kind, caring voice who I talked to for 10 minutes on the phone. I asked for my sofa to be cleaned and they refused. 260 dollars for 2 hours, local. no more than 8 min between pick up and drop off. No stairs, no assembly. Just poor and uncaring service. Shame

MILITARY FAMILIES BEWARE!!!!!…read more I would give this company no stars if I could. We are an active duty military family that is needing to move on a compassionate reassignment orders. My husband has stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer. Because of the pending government shutdown at the time, the military transportation office told us we needed to book our own movers and that it could be put on our GTC. Old Town Van Lines was truly outstanding in customer service at first. Jason whom booked my reservation was so helpful. He quoted our move to include the company packing at $11,000. We signed the contract and paid a deposit of $3,890. The night before the moving company was to come, they then said our move was going to be $20,000 and that was not including the deposit we already paid. So we immediately contacted Old Town Van Lines and when my husband spoke to Lisa she was rude and mean and told us that we were losing our deposit and there was nothing we could do about it. They have since stopped answering our phone calls. We are out $3,890 and my goal is to get this company black listed from being able to work with military families. We are now left scrambling with needing to report to our duty station on October 17th and no way to move our things. This company is nice at first and then ugly and greedy! Please trust the negative comments you read on every review. They try to defend themselves in the response but they know what they are doing. Update: I'm not convinced people leaving good reviews are real people! They could be AI reviews or if they are money is no object to them. But it's a little suspicious that all their good reviews were left on the same day or within 2 days of each other. We completely lost out on the deposit we paid them because they very sneakily word their contracts. We were able to move but again not without losing money. Their Yelp reviews also include what happened to me with other people. I am continuing to pursue them getting black listed from even doing quotes with the Military community. It's truly disgusting what greed has done to America and Old Tan Van Lines is the poster child of corporate greed. During the move the leg of an antique piece of furniture was completely snapped off and taped back together in hopes of trying to hide the break. (see pics for the condition it was left in after the mover "fixed" it) In attempting to be reimbursed for this damage, as well as a couple missing items, the owner was downright rude and verbally abusive over the phone and gave the name of a claims company who doesn't even work with them to file the claim. The phone is never answered and voicemails are infrequently returned. I have moved many, many times and have never witnessed such unprofessionalism. Avoid this company at all costs, I would give zero stars if possible.
