Having moved to Florida 13 years ago, leaving John's Hopkins in Baltimore I was passed shocked at the lack of providers or specialist in this area. Both my neurology docs, my primary and pain specialist either moved or retired. I was so relieved to find Dr. PORTER. One of few docs even knowing or caring about my disease. His staff, his nurses and entire office are great and helpful. Ive absolutely NO complaints...except one. Taking in mind the rarity and progression of my disease its paramount the plan of care is consistent without guessing. Over the past 3 months I've seen not one but three different Nurse Practitioners. Each of them are more than qualified in their fields Im sure. It just leaves me confused as treatment plans change with each new visit. This is absolutely not a negative only my state of mind at seeing different Nurses. I give the office, staff and doctor %. You won't find any place better. Chiari Malformation of the brain with Syringomyelia of the Spinal cord is not a disease many doctors will take on. Dr PORTER did and Im much appreciative.

I am going into my 11th year of seeing Dr.Porter. When he first opened his practice the wait time…read morewas in the 4-5 hour range! For a few months his small waiting room was packed but it didn't take long for people to figure out that Dr.Porter IS NOT a "candy doctor" and if they didn't have an MRI, CAT scan or other means of proving that their pain was REAL, I'm sure that he would tell them something like "take 2 aspirin & call me in the morning" I realized many years ago that I will NEVER be pain free. However thanks to Dr.Porter I am able to live alone & keep my place, both inside & outside in order. I do have to ask for help if I have to move something heavy but at 75 I am SO THANKFUL for being able to live alone & take care of myself, my home & my boy's. They are a 15 pound Poodle, a 7 pound Maltese poodle & a cat that's the biggest. I love it when all 3 of them cuddle up with me on "our" recliner!! All of the above is only possible because of Dr.Porter!!!

I've been calling for 2 months, nothing but excuses, and it appears I'll never get that money back. I wasn't dizzy because I have a dizzy problem. I have a problem with pain in my foot and pain in my back and when they're making you do all these movements or walk around when you can't walk and you could barely walk with a cane it's gonna cause you to lose your equilibrium. All because of the pain in the foot and the low back. So Cynthia is very nice, but evidently when she did the FCE she made no comments that I need an accommodation slight frequent breaks, or an electric wheelchair scooter to get around, no standing no walking, which goes with what she did say permanent city, but that was all, but didn't also say that I needed something elevate my foot cause even there I needed something to elevate my foot which I need an executive chair with a foot rest so I had an inappropriate not accurate FCE. Although all of the staff members that do the PT and the southern gentleman from Texas are very nice. Cynthia was very nice when I first went there the first day the girl at the desk was nice when I called back about getting my appointment may be moved up sooner than the 30th since they messed up why I came there the first visit the girl at the desk was very rude. Otherwise they were very nice and I just think the evaluation was not done with complete accommodations that I need. Also, it says I went from a 5 to 10 in pain when I went there that day. I had an 8 to 10 pain by the time I left it was a 10+. I never had a five I haven't had a five ever since my injury. So wherever they got that, and I've only done one assessment that they sent me in a survey when I saw about dizziness, I didn't do it last time so they sent it again and I made sure in the comments I put it's not a dizzy problem it is a pain problem from the foot and the back from not getting treatment treatments that I need.

I wish I could leave no stars but it won't allow me to do that. Dr. Reino was a fantastic surgeon…read moreand did a great job on my wife's elbow, but is follow through stinks on what we need to do to follow up. The clinic is an absolute circus. The front desk attendants or anybody who has to pass on information about prescriptions, x-rays, scheduling other appointments... they are absolutely horrible and have no clue how to do their job. I've seen trained monkeys at the zoo they could do a better job than the manager there. It all started when my wife went for a follow up appointment and they said do you have your x-rays? We said no we were told we had to get x-rays for the follow up visit. The doctor said that he wouldn't be able to CS because he doesn't have new x-rays to see how the elbow is healing. Well isn't that a PIP? It would've been nice to know that we had to have x-rays to show up the first time. We finally get the prescription to go get the x-rays and we are told by the imaging center that they don't take appointments for plane x-rays CAT scans or MRIs only. So today on one of the few days that we have off, My wife goes to get the x-rays for her follow up visit the imaging center says that their machine is broken that we have to go all the way to Poinciana to get the x-rays done. Now that we are here, it is a mess. Drug addicts galore and all other sorts of problems. There is one guy who is even comatose that is in the waiting room that they had to wait for an ambulance to show up to take care of him. Can we just get an x-ray! Thats all we need! If you ever have to get orthopedics done I would recommend Dr. Reino but I would never recommend Hughston clinic. They are horrid.
