They gave me a free coupon to return another day, but I had already gotten in the habit of going to cafes to work... I would encourage anyone who needs to get work done in a quiet place to check these guys out... they were patient with my bad Spanish, and someone was usually on hand who spoke English. Spacious desks and with adjustable chairs, some nice lounge chairs here and there, and a kitchen with microwave, toaster, etc. Speed test with the place about half full: 162 Mbps download / 24 Mbps upload With all traffic going through a VPN in San Francisco: 25-ish Mbps download / 9-ish Mbps upload Video calls via Google Meet went fine without any lag or disconnections in video or audio. (Google says that Google Meet requires only 3.2 Mbps.) Only two complaints that affected my productivity and work flow: They play background music, which I do not like. I do have noise-canceling headphones that can mitigate most of it, though. The air conditioning could be turned on more. I felt like it was a bit too warm for my taste to work well, but that could just be my personal preference. Bathrooms: 1 accessible one on ground floor and three in the basement, all single-occupancy, clean, and well-maintained.

He was kind and professional, and seemed to genuinely want me to have a good stay here. It's a fairly quiet space, but you're allowed to take calls in the open area, as long as you aren't shouting or otherwise disruptive. At least for day pass people like me, I have to be buzzed in by the front desk person. Sometimes the door is left open, but when it's not, and I'm coming back from lunch or a walk, it can be mildly annoying if the front desk person is not there for a moment. That said, it does mean security is pretty good here. The space gets a lot of natural light. Each work space has easy access to at least 1 power outlet, oftentimes 2. Some light background music, but very soft and unobtrusive. Some small cookies/cake for free. Large tea selection and a pot of coffee. Some soft drinks and beers in the frig; presumably, that costs extra. There's 1 microwave. Bicycle parking available inside the space. There's are two outdoor spaces upstairs: one lovely terrace and another 'enclosed courtyard' sort of space that's the size of a medium conference room with decorated walls and plants on all sides, but open to the sky. Ran multiple speed tests for the Wifi, and generally was getting 9 Mbps / 25 Mbps download/upload when the place was mostly full, sometimes 140 Mbps download when less full. Pretty decent. Doing a speed test with full-tunnel VPN server in California via speedtest.net yielded ~10 Mbps download, 11 Mbps upload (note that stuff like Google Meet with video only needs, like, 3.2 Mbps). Acceptable, and understandable, given that I'm connecting all Internet traffic through a bottleneck in another hemisphere. Bathrooms: 3 single-occupancy bathrooms across two floors, which seems plenty for the number of people here. The bathrooms don't quite live up to the bougie decor of the rest of the space, alas.

No only was this office space a cool, modern, professional, clean, comfortable place to work, I enjoyed the people I was surrounded by so much. Working in AreaTres completely transformed my experience in Buenos Aires because of the instant community it provided for me. All of the closest friends I made in Buenos Aires, I met at AreaTres. I spent just about every weekend with people I met in AreaTres. While it's possible to buy a day pass, longer memberships are encouraged because the office owner really encourages a sense of professional community, instead of a drifter, impersonal vibe. Because of this, there is an atmosphere of trust, and I could leave my computer and belongings unattended while stepping out to lunch, which I certainly couldn't do if I was working at the Starbucks next door. It's also a quiet atmosphere, which is quite the opposite of the crowded Starbucks next door. I appreciated that I could choose between a table or standing desk, and there were always free cookies, coffee, tea, and beer on hand. It was also fun to go to the monthly after office social hours to get to know people better. I couldn't recommend this space more highly if you're looking for a professional, welcoming community to work in.

It's a shame because the layout is so inviting and conducive to being productive, but for me there were just too many other noises happening to focus. I like all of the various seating options and there are many floors you can explore for call booths, playing ping pong, and even a rooftop garden area. Definitely check out the roof for the views and some fresh air! They have coffee, water, tea, and a daily assortment of cookies. If you're lucky and they have hosted an event, you'll get some of the leftovers in the afternoon which is always a nice treat after working a long day.

They tend to play some really chill music. There is a front and back patio that is great for escaping the work grind. You can also get pretty good wifi outside as well. The top two floors are a more standard coworking space feel. There are a lot of meeting rooms and nice big screens for presentations. They seem to throw quite a few events here as well. Also they have Patagonia beer! Thanks to AreaTres I'm now addicted to the Patagonia IPA...
