The vet came to my home to euthanize my 19 year old Shih Tzu. She was very kind, patient and understanding of the difficult emotions I was feeling. This is probably the hardest review I'll ever have to write but I can't stress enough how amazing the care we received from Dr McInerney (Dr Mack) was. If I could give Dr McInerney 10 stars I would! She was referred to me by our vet when we knew it would soon be time for our Marlee to cross the rainbow bridge. She was one of the most caring and compassionate people that I've had the chance to meet and she made sure Marlee's passing was gentle and pain free. I can't stress enough how wonderful she was and we're so glad she was by our family's side to guide us through this heartbreaking moment. She also gave us a clipping of Marlee's fur in a cute little heart shaped container and was nice enough to make us two clay paw prints, one for me and one for my son and daughter in law. I know this is one of the hardest decisions to have to make but please don't hesitate on calling Dr Mack. She really helped make this so much easier. read more

Truly incredible. Making the decision to humanely euthanize is one of the hardest in the world. My 18 year old cat, Sandy, short of her 19th birthday was diagnosed with severe kidney disease 2 days ago. She declined rapidly and it was clear that she was in pain and suffering. Grappling with the reality that my otherwise healthy, old, baby was declining so rapidly was more difficult than words could explain. However, Dr. Marie made the process truly comfortable. She was able to accommodate and show up same-day; Sandy was suffering and we didn't want to prolong it if it could be avoided. Dr. Marie outlined the steps of the procedure before arriving, over the phone; she gave us a comprehensive quote. And the process was truly the best I have ever experienced. I had to put down 19-year-old cat last year but we did it at our regular vet in the clinic. If I had known about Dr. Marie's services last year I would have scheduled her to come to my home. Today, Dr. Maria arrived and was incredible. She is truly compassionate, kind, empathetic, and loving. She accommodated my wish to euthanize Sandy on my bed, which was her favorite spot; she loved to sleep next to me and we spent most nights sleeping and waking up together, so I wanted Sandy's last breath to be on that bed where she was so comfortable. Dr. Marie put a little towel and pee pad under Sandy, just in case, and we made her extremely comfortable. Dr. Marie was soothing the entire time. I asked if I could have two prints made, one for me and my sister and she granted that wish; she asked if I wanted any of the fur shavings from the little area on the arm that she had to shave to see the vein. After the procedure, she made the paw print molds right there on my bed, which was an added touch that gave me extra time with Sandy; I wasn't ready to shortly let go, unlike the time I euthanized another cat in a clinic. Dr. Marie made light, enjoyable conversation. At the end she gently bundled Sandy up and carried her carefully out. Truly the best experience that can happen during such a difficult time. The entire procedure was gentle, compassionate, and comfortable. read more

I feel so fortunate that I was referred to Dr. Marie McInerney when another vet who comes to your home was out. We were having a difficult time accepting the fact that it was Pumpkin's time and Dr. McInerney helped us get through it. She walked us though what was going to happen, and helped us feel confident we were making the right decision to ensure Pumpkin wouldn't suffer more than necessary. Even when I spoke to her on the phone when I was making the appointment, she explained things to look for when making this difficult decision to help guide us. She is very compassionate and her demeanor is calming in such a difficult time. She came to our home and gave us time to say goodbye, both before and after Pumpkin passed. I love Dr. McInerney!! I call her Dr. Mac! I met her when she was working at Plantation Animal Hospital. She has taken care of our animals for years. She has always been a very caring and competent vet. She took great care of our black Lab, and she really saved the life of my Jack Russell. She gave us many beautiful years with our Lab, Spooky, even though he had Addison's Disease. When it was his time, she came to house and lovingly helped him transition to his spirit form. She helped my Jack Russell, Penny, immensely. Many years ago, she was attacked by an Akita. Dr. Mac knew just what to do. She saved her life. I was so thankful. We recently had to put Penny to sleep because she was losing her battle with Lymphoma. Dr. Mac was as sweet and loving as a vet could be. She made me feel I was doing the right thing. She even gave us a discount so that we could get Penny's ashes paid for. She is always going to be out veterinarian even though she only works in hospice now. She is also our friend, and we hope to keep in touch for years. She is the total package! Dr. Marie McInerney was our family vet almost 17 years ago when our than 8-week Chihuahua puppy J. Wellington Wimpy was accidently hurt by a family pit bull. Dr. Marie stabilized Wimpy and we rushed him to an intensive care animal hospital where Wimpy spent 24 hours in an oxygen chamber and subsequently survived. Thankfully given time and great vet care, Wimpy eventually recovered and later Dr. Marie from General Practice into her current field of being a compassionate home vet. About five years ago when Wimpy was 12 years old and he appeared to be in pain, suffering and walking with great difficulty, we thought it was "time" to help him pass over so we called Dr. Marie. Dr. Marie came out prepared to help Wimpy leave us but after an examination she declared that he was not ready to go and she suggested we take him to the family vet office that she recommended. We were so thankful for that advice because we were able to have Wimpy in our lives for 5 more years. This last week I called Dr. Marie to explain that Wimpy was recently diagnosed with malignant cancer and she helped me understand the things I could do to keep him comfortable. When Wimpy would no longer eat, drink or walk I knew it was time to call Dr. Marie to come and help stop the suffering. I highly recommend Dr. Marie Mcinerney, and the Cremation service that she uses, Paws and Cherish. This was such a difficult time for me deciding to euthanize my best friend and companion, Dakota, my 90 lb. Golden Retriever. Since I'm a single woman, for 15 years we did everything together. I have a Pilates Business at my home, and he was a very large part of the studio. He would come running down the hall with a stuffed animal in his mouth to greet each and every client.
