I stored my personal belongings at this facility from just 2 months before discovering the massive infestation of rats! After checking in on my belongings I found rat feces everywhere and boxes with chewed holes. With the amount of feces, it was apparent that this was a very serious problem. I rearranged my travel schedule, flew back home early and spent a weekend cleaning out my belongings. I found the problem was much worse than what was in plain sight. The rats ate through my sneakers (Air Jordan's!), ate through all my bathroom supplies, laundry and cleaning supplies, anything plastic with liquid, they are through. Even the poison, they are! We found one large dead rat! There had to be so many! Insurance does not cover this! I was put thousands of dollars. Besides the mess and complete disgusting smell of rat piss and feces all over everything I own. The storage facility manager only offered to EXTEND my lease for 30 days for free. I was like, No Thanks! I don't want to leave my stuff in here a day longer than necessary. I through away so many things. It was disgusting and a very traumatic experience. I suggest not storing your belongings here unless you intend to throw them away! This is a recent and ongoing problem. read more

Rats or mice have chewed through thousands of dollars worth of Karastan carpets we stored here. General manager takes no responsibility. Zero. Told us since we didn't buy their insurance they have NO responsibility. And told us to file a claim with our homeowners policy. Rodent management devices visible all over this storage site are obviously not maintained. If you want rats or mice crawling all over your things and eating your things, by all means pay to store your belongings here. Unprofessional, contentious, defensive, not the slightest bit sorry. I must agree with everyone regarding how polite and hospitable both Roy and his wife are- Top notch! Very clean facility and a professional office staff.. However, the prices continue to increase over the course of your lease. Mine has increased at least 3 times and less than a year's time. Thankful, that I've found a condo and will be moving next month. Word to the wise. Do extensive research and ask several questions. I've rented units prior and was pro-rated the days that I wasn't utilizing the unit at my departure. Not the case here. If you decide to rent from them try your best to vacate at the end of the month. If not, you will be out a full month's rent because they don't pro-rate at all. Very unfortunate being that with closings you don't have control over the date. read more

Before settling on one facility, I researched every storage facility in the Conyers area plus some beyond the city limits via an Internet search engine, Internet mapping and by creating, then printing, grade sheets with which to rate the different facilities; I believe I was more thorough than most. I then visited each facility, accepted the tours when offered, asked a bunch of questions while grading managers' responses and attitudes, and took special notice of the appearances and upkeep of their grounds. Compass Self Storage (CSS) in Conyers came out on top with only one deviation, price. CSS was not the cheapest facility and they have increased their monthly charges by $5 in the few months I've signed on with them. However, the grounds are darn near immaculate (concrete driveways throughout), the security (fencing/gate & cameras) is outstanding, easy access 24/7, rental trucks (and I would guess moving equipment, such as dollies, as well) are available, excellent location (for me), and the manager-husband/wife-team are simply wonderful to include the nice lady who fills in for them when they need to be away. (Pardon me while I step into the hallway so as to kick my buttocks for not being able to recall their names at this moment. I will, in all likelihood, recall their names soon after I post this review; that's the norm for me these days; I'm getting old. Heck, I am old!) You can find cheaper accommodations, but not by much--we're talking $10 to $15 per month maybe, but you won't find better quality. I am happy with my decision. Now, how many stars should I award CSS? If military fitness reports and corporation personnel reviews are worthy indicators, NO ONE deserves the highest possible rating. I'll deduct one star for having the highest monthly fees of all the storage facilities I've checked out. And given the quality of CSS, this may not be completely fair. E233 read more

Where do I begin! Roy and His wife are two AMAZING people...I was most impressed with Roy's professionalism and his customer service skills. He was polite, generous and hospitable. I RECOMMEND COMPAS storage to ALL in the area in need of Moving trucks, storage units etc. It was a late Saturday evening when I ran out of luck with other self storage companies when I was BLESSED with Roy and Compass Self Storage. Roy took care of me and made me feel so comfortable with his expertise in his own business and what HE and his Company had to offer me. Roy makes the difference... And it's a nice facility, all good. We looked for a while for an affordable climate controlled space to move nice wood furniture into while awaiting distribution from an estate, and Roy even helped navigate our semi into position by our unit which was toward the back of a side alley. (A tight fit, but it worked with his direction and a veteran driver) Even when we were late a time or two on payments, Roy was cheerful and friendly when calling to remind us. A very nice experience; we even rented a smaller unit when we needed more storage afterwards. read more

Roy went above and beyond to help us unhook the small UHaul trailer we rented in Texas and get our stuff settled in a unit. It's obvious that he and his family take great pride in keeping the facilities clean and secure. read more

Worst Customer Service. We had rats eat our things and droppings on our furniture. We had 3 rate increases within a 2 year period. When we brought the rat problem to their attention, they got defensive and hung up on us. We will NEVER use them again nor recommend them to anyone. They tried to insinuate that we brought them with us. We did not go check out storage very often, we though it would be safe and pest free like they guaranteed. read more

Yes, I will definitely agree with all the reviews about politeness, safety, cleanliness, etc. I have been with them for 1 year. But, my storage fee has increased 4 times in a year which I feel is insane. I love the fact that the company have a lot of positive things going for it, but the one thing that I think is so unfair are the rate increases and how quickly they increase. I could understand if it were once every year or every 2 years, but 4 in a year. I feel like that's just outrageous!...Just so you know, if you rent from them, your rate will increase every 4 to 5 months in a year or however long you rent with this company..IJS... read more

Please BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! We moved in this storage back on Nov 2018; at first the manager over charged my husband stating she wasn't aware of the managers special but it was listed on the website. Then in January my youngest whom has very bad asthma needed her breathing machine... we went to the storage exactly 5 days from our due date and was denied access! We were given a corporate number for a higher manager and to date we still haven't received a call back from him and we have phone logs showing were we called several times. I received a call today 2/4/19- stating if we didn't pay in cash that the lock would be cut off the storage and an auction was coming. I proceeded to tell the "General Manager" that we had been affected by the lock down in which she proceeded to tell me that those people had gone back to work. I then informed her that why the lock down was over back pay was still not given as of yet; she then stated that she needed a letter which was not a problem but working through the airport you can't just jump up and get a letter. So, I informed the general manager that we could come in on 2/7/19 no later than 2/8/19, to pay the bill she kept forcing on this lock being cut for a storage that is 37 days past due. I asked for the manager over her I was given the same corporate number with ext 705, that we had left several messages too before with no call back. I called and left him another messages expressing the urgency of getting a call back.... still no call. So, my husband get in for work I call the storage back and this time I get another manager name Carol. She proceeds to tell me that the General Manager is assisting a customer but she can have her call us in the morning... keep in mind my husband work to the airport and you can't be on your personal cell while at work. The very next thing we hear is the General Manager yelling out that, "she spoke to the corporate manager and he won't call me back because I am not in the contract". So, she also proceed to say, they can't talk to me because my name isn't on the contract when my husband was clearly in the phone as well. So, my husband and I proceed to ask where is the certified letter stating that our storage lock will be cut it giving a certified notice of the storage auction? We were told it comes through their system... now I may not be an attorney but I have enough sense to know that certified mail is not generated via the system. It has to be written out and paid for.., not to mentioned signature due upon delivery. But back to the other question; if the General Manager was with a customer why is she yelling out in reference to the call but don't have time to pick up the phone and speak to my husband? Also, why wasn't the corporate manager professional enough to call us back in January when my child was suffering with asthma and we needed her machine? As well as call back today to even say, I have to speak to your husband but she was able to pick directly up and call him and speak to him directly? We are working to get an attorney as we have been told that legally they can't cut out lock on the storage or sale the storage without proper notification. Please excuse any grammatical errors but be very wise make sure you read ALL reviews especially the ones warning you!! This storage place is a fraud and I advise you too be VERY CAREFUL BEFORE USING THEM! read more

The managers of the facility are super nice and very professional, but the owner of the facility raises the rates by an outrageous percentage every 6 months so I will have to vacate both of my units. read more
