Tom Allen of Compass Property Inspections is smart, articulate and extremely helpful. He covers the entire home along with pool systems top to bottom. His is patient and thorough. He understands a complete inspection cannot be rushed. His software is broken down into 3 categories-1)suggestions/Recommendations 2)Moderate 3)Hazards. With a simple click you are able to highlight and comment on each bucket indicating if you would like a repair or credit request and electronically send it back to the sellers agent. It's clean and precise. He is top notch. read more

Working with Tom was great, Tom was patient and very thorough with his work. I really understood the steps he took as he explained everything well. Thomas from Compass Property Inspections inspected a home that my husband and I are looking to purchase. Thomas was on time and efficiently went through each area of the home (inside and out)and inspected it. Then he send us a detailed, color-coded report, which contains information about each area or thing within the home. What I I loved most about the report are the pictures that were included. These pictures made it easier for us to really comprehend the report. Tom Allen, President and Principal of Compass Property Inspections, founded the organization with extensive experience in buildings and grounds management with a prestigious local liberal arts college, building homes with his immediate and extended family. Meet the Business Owner: Tom A.

Tom Allen, President and Principal of Compass Property Inspections, began his career as a builder and licensed electrician in the State of Connecticut. While working on residential commercial and industrial properties, he attended college at the University of New Haven and Waterbury State Technical College focusing on advanced studies in building design and electrical engineering. Following success in 15 years of working in a highly technical field, Tom accepted a leadership position in buildings and grounds facility and construction services as the Executive Director with a local prestigious Liberal Arts College. Tom was responsible for the planning and implementation of nearly $500M in new construction and renovated facilities, transforming the campus while working with premier architectural and engineering firms through the process. In managing day-to-day facility operations he was responsible for a $20M annual budget, energy conservation initiatives and oversight.

Mr. Allen is very professional and highly knowledgeable. He provides a detailed inspection, explains everything as he goes through the house, and leaves nothing without being looked into.
