I visited it for…read moreawhile but then i started going to church in Monterey and became the coffee maker on Sunday mornings for a church in Monterey. We gave out 500 donuts each Sunday, and i would make 1500 cups of coffee each Sunday, using a Starbucks style coffee maker. I then visited this church one Sunday at the 7:00 am service. There were 75 worshipers at the service. The priest invited everyone present to stop by for coffee and donuts after mass. I was curious what kind of coffer maker they used at this church. So i walked to the place where coffee was being served, and only 7 people out of 75 attendees followed me for coffee. All the other 63 people got in their car and left. I saw an old fashioned coffee maker sitting there, and only 9 donuts on the table. Not the 500 donuts i used to seeing nor a big coffee makrr. I was in shock to see such a pitiful turnout. I went back to my Monterey church the following week where everyone stops by for coffee and donuts and to socialize with fellow believers. So sad to see how little socializing this churc has.

But never once did I read the bible or never once was I encouraged to by anyone at this church.. I gave my life to Jesus at 18 years old in 2014 and started attending church at Lighthouse Church ran by Pastor Alfred Florez. I know read the bible and attend bible study once a week and attend church every Sunday at Cathedral Of Faith in San Jose (where I now live) It's a pretty church and all, but I never understood what was being preached. I never had a relationship with Jesus, until I became a christian.

No overhead bible! People bring their own! Can arrive early for coffee, pastries, juice. Child care available. Contemporary music with occasional hymn. Usually acceptable volume so the house rafters aren't shaking off. You can hear others singing and hear yourself. Don holds a Wednesday night bible study, absolutely fascinating detail. Separate men's or women's weekly bible study. Fundraisers. Christmas Angel Tree. Ambassadors for Christ. Great Christmas dinner potluck each year. Unfortunately, church service in a rented catholic girls school. Time constraints keep pastor, elders, deacons from arriving early, remaining short while after service, to be available to greet, chat, discuss a quick question. No fellowship. Unable to return to coffee room. We need people to volunteer for a multitude of help-needed requests, mature Christians to mentor to others, one-on-one. Wish more young families would join us. However, they seem to prefer the large congregations, full band or orchestra that can knock out your teeth from high volume. Feel-good gospel providing action, noise, movement,entertainment, get lost in crowds,tell jokes, and avoid serious topics or commentary. Sad in that so many have yet to accept Jesus as their Savior & have eternal confirmation of a life with Christ. Notice many new churches or church buildings going up all around us, yet CCS unable to find & buy property or building to call their own. It's life, positives & negatives. We're extending a welcome greeting to all who are searching and seeking. Anyone sad, lonely, grieving. Those who are blessed with talents are out there. So, come! Learn of Jesus! We'll be waiting.
