Do not send your love ones to this disgusting awful place where the kitchen staff Z Kiara Dana gave residents laxative so that the night shift can change shitty pampers all night. They putting fabolosa in the teas they drink. Employees pulling up in the pjs with no under wear and bra on ready to fight another employees the kitchen manager calling people that's not on the clock to come and fight on the job in the parking lot with cameras leaving residents unattended. Kiara stealing $100 on from Mrs. Sharon. Anneatte Daniels drinking Bud lights on the Job. The food is not fresh they feed residents expired food . Also preparing food with cockaroaches crawling all in the kitchen. They leaving residents sitting in their pee and shit for hours before they change them. They stole money from Mrs . June that was never recovered Also have Mr Westley in a room with mildew at the top of his wall. Kitchen staff pulling up to work with loud music disturbing the neighbors in their home. Mr. Jay is aware of everything and still have these employees kitchen staff working. A lady was hired as an undercover and heard the kitchen staff planning to give residents laxcitve. Z twerking on the residents drinking getting residents drunk and some was throwing up. Nobody cleans up properly . Pantry and cooler and disgusting inside with old food and meat. Ice cream is freezer burt. This place is not up to code and needs to be shut down. The state will be called also adult protection service will be called too. It's not safe to send your love ones. Their putting things in their drinks also giving residents other things besides their meds. Also the employees is and been stealing residents meds for a fact. All this place is worried about is money money money! Not a safe place to send your love ones tables they eat on stay dirty and filthy. read more

CRH is truly a home away from home. They care about their residents and the director is very professional. The home is decorated for all occasions And they have fun activities. My mom was treated so well and her room so nice. She passed away there and the staff comforted us well. I'm grateful we have a great place for those who can't live alone. read more

Specialties

Community Retirement home is the only nonprofit independent retirement home in Port Arthur, serving our residents and the community for over 80 years.

History

Established in 1944.

Community Retirement Home was founded in 1944 by the Federation Missionary Society to provide safe, dignified housing for elderly residents in Port Arthur, Texas. Originally housed in a converted farmhouse, CRH quickly expanded to the Model Apartment Building and was officially incorporated as a nonprofit that same year. Over the decades, CRH grew through community support, adding a service building in 1970 and receiving a donated office building in 1988. As one of the region’s earliest assisted living facilities, CRH remains deeply rooted in its faith-based mission—offering affordable, supervised care that honors independence, legacy, and compassion.

After he had become bedridden, she called me eight hours into her shift to find out how to change his diaper. I called the on-call person to get support.
