First thing I liked was the location. Second thing was the responsiveness when I emailed - the night before - to see if they would take a visitor the next afternoon. Third, Jordan Symonds (owner/coach) was super friendly, helpful and welcoming. Finally, the gym is great (quality equipment), the coaching was spot on (... I happen to think our affiliate - Crossfit Westside in Vancouver is top notch) and the overall experience was non-pretentious but just as intense as one would hope/expect. I travel a lot for work and have been to a few CF affiliates that are borderline pretentious; even non-welcoming...... and if you're a visitor its kind of annoying and unnecessary. Next time I'm in Toronto, I'm definitely coming back to Reebok Crossfit in Liberty Village!

When it comes to knowledgeable and quality coaches, friendly members ( the usual athletic type 'A's".. true to the Xift mentality!), intense WoDs that would challenge even the most seasoned athlete. I think what I love the most about RCLV is definitely are the coaches, which to me are worth more than their price in gold. The facility is great, the music is awesome.. and appropriate! ( Yes.. I have been in Xfit gyms where for some reason, "Call Me Maybe" was termed appropriate to do 30 Power Cleans for time, so this was necessary to add to my review, yes!! ). RCLV has become a MUST in my fitness regime. I call this place "home", and miss it immensely when I am away too long..so to prevent this from happening too often, I actually just signed on for 6 months.. easiest decision I ever made! For those who are not familiar with weightlifting, He was a legendary Olympic weightlifter in 1980s and I read about him when I was young. Basically, he is a demi-god in weightlifting. To make things better, Alex's class (4:30 pm) usually only has 2-3 people coming. Academy of Lions is primarily a gym, that has a coffee/smoothie bar and merch section at the front entrance. The staff at AOL are super friendly; greeting you with a smile...even if you're just grabbing a smoothie and aren't a gym member LOL All of the smoothies are delicious but my personal favourite has to be Chocolate banana and peanut butter. Their prices are also very reasonable when compared to alternative smoothie sources in the area.

This company has taken my money and refused to provide me with the workout sessions or meals I have…read morepaid for. Both Obi and Sofi (the owners of this company- unknown last names they do not provide those which is suspicious unto itself) did not follow through with the training times and dates as promised when signing the contract and cancelled sessions frequently after they received the E transferred funds. They also tried to pressure me into purchasing another meal package after already pressuring me to purchase another exercise package. When I refused to transfer more money they became hostile and began to cancel sessions non stop in order to get me to stop coming to the gym of my own accord and then refused to refund any of the money I had sent. Both owners are also unprofessional as they gossip about all clients, divulge client personal information, create a toxic culture of exercise, and are unreliable in providing the workout sessions. They have cancelled over 15 of my sessions and the relationship broke down after they cancelled a session on Sunday July 6 at 12 pm when I was already enroute and it started at 12:30 pm. I was courteous and requested only the session I have not started using to be refunded and they refused. I requested they refund my 2909.75 for the 34 session package I have not started and they refused and began lying via text message as they know it can be used in court. They have bad business practices and purposely frustrate clients and do not provide the goods and services I have paid for such as the meal service in order to have clients stop coming to the gym. They blatantly lie about their availability and state they train from 6:30 am -10 pm 6 days a week thus makes their entire contract null and void.

My Barre 60 minute class with Haley was intense and satisfying. It was a mix of yoga, pilates and…read moreBarre. There was a lot of cardio involved. The playlist was amazing but the music was too loud. It's hard to hear the instructor when there's loud music playing. Haley checked in on me and other students regularly to make sure we were all doing ok. She encouraged us to do the best we can. For a cold Friday evening, the class was full which is amazing. The studio is clean and has plenty of room to lock up your stuff. They have those code based lockers. They have two restrooms and a shower. They provide with hair ties, spray deos and dry shampoo to refresh after the workout. There's also a water filling station to refill your bottles which is a nice sustainable touch.
