This is the worst ever in over 30 years buying collard greens from the commissary, very small leaves, stems. yellow leaves. I have no idea where you purchase them, but you need another source. The quality this year was very poor of your standard that I know you have in the pass. read more

It's nice to have something that just is comfortable when you're learning to live in a new country. This commissary, being a commissary, is just a nice touch of home. I prefer this one over ramstein because it isn't as crazy busy, but the selection isn't always as good or varied as they get on ramstein. The sandwich counter is so so good. I made the mistake of ordering a half sandwich I came - WOAH! It was huge. Just get the quarter sandwich, it's more than enough food. So small.. not very many organic options to choose from. The people are fairly nice, some are locals but are still very nice to you. There's a deli section next to the baked goods. There's also a hot soup bar and a salad bar. Near the back with the dairy and eggs there's a fridge with a ton of different cheese and smoked meats. read more

The little brother of the Ramstein Commissary, and the hidden gem and central hub of those working on Pulaski, Vogelweh and Kapaun. Situated on base before the exit, the Vogelweh commissary carries most everything you will need to get your weekly shopping done. With a full sandwich bar for lunch options, as well as fruit and meat plates, it's a convenient way to avoid having to go to Ramstein. Service is average. Nobody is overly friendly nor are they rude. This commissary also houses a coupon corner near the entrance, three sizes of carts and bagging service. In addition they also have eight self check-out scanners that are never all working, and are open early for customers. This place is great for getting in-and-out for milk and eggs. The onions and peppers are always spoiled, the bananas are always green and for some reason the chicken bunkers are are always on the fritz. I would say it's paramount to familiarize yourself with Vogelweh's commissary on the basis that Ramstein's does close now and then, and with a quieter and smaller space, you'll find yourself less bothered by people and free to shop in peace. Just don't -for the love of God- go near a payday. read more

A cozy little place to get food when you're at Vogelweh housing. There's a slight mix of German foods that are available at the deli counter. As well as an assortment of baked goods. This place isn't that big and neither is the selection. But like most other places, this place can get busy especially during the holiday season. The produce section has items that come from Europe and the prices vary depending on how far they are imported. You can get a lot of American items here too. Unless you're buying cans of dry roasted ground coffee or bottles of alcohol, you'll need a ration card. read more
