The office has the worst communication skills and the flowers are a disppointment. If you want low budget you will get these low budget flowers and look. worked with eddie as he came recommended by everyone i know who used commerce for their wedding needs. not only did he give me one of the best deals, he also used all the ostrich feathers i brought in to make all plume arrangements, bouquets with feathers in them, and when i asked him to bring me a few extra arrangements for the bird cage on the day of, he did. when we realized by mistake on the day of that we didn't have enough boutteniers for the groomsmen, he made a trip back to commerce to get them. Eddie is the man and I recommend him to anyone who wants amazing but inexpensive flowers for their wedding. My Dad's wife referred this place to us for our wedding as they are close friends of the owner. I was a little hesitant, the shop was a bit of a mess but I tried to keep an open mind and see what they had to offer. I had heard they had some celebrity clientele which was reassuring and when I looked through their photo albums there was just picture on top of picture of the most beautiful floral creations. I knew what I wanted, Black Magic roses for my bouquet and white roses for my bridesmaids. My reception would have black magic roses on foot tall pewter candelabras and the roses vines would cascade down...dramatic...yes....expensive...yes. Haha the centerpieces were rented and really captured the look I was trying to achieve. It was great the florist came to my reception venue and picked up the centerpieces the next day. Not a thing to worry about. In planning your wedding there will always be that "one" thing that is super important to you be it your dress, your venue or your flowers. Eddie is fabulous to work with and stays within your budget! My budget was $2,500 and the total for 23 beautiful tall centerpieces (with curly willows), bouquets, boutonnières, gazebo sprays, manzanita tree, personal flowers, ,etc came to be just under budget! the only thing is Eddie is old school and writes everything down on paper...nothing is digitized so when you have to change something, he'll either erase or cross out on the papers and make changes accordingly. We used CoC Flowers for our wedding - May 2013. Duke is a nice, older fellow. He knows his stuff and his staff aims to please. He is willing to work with a wide variety of budgets, and you seem to get a really good bang for the buck. Every time we visited to go over something, we always seems to leave with something Duke would hand us (a little flower or bouquet - thanks Duke!). We first met with him to go over our general needs and we worked up the different types of flowers we'd need (bouquets, altar pieces, centerpieces, etc.). We went again to see a workup of the centerpiece, which we changed a number of times while we were there, but Duke was patient to re-do them until we had what we wanted. Wedding day: they delivered the bouquet/small stuff to the hotel on time and the bigger stuff to the venue when we needed it. Except, they forgot the leave the centerpieces! Luckily, our coordinator got them on the phone and they were only 20 mins. away. They came back and we were all good. Overall, a very good experience and we would recommend Commerce for others. read more

When I first went to get my quote with Lindy she seemed super nice and it seemed like she had a lot of experience in the business. We sat down and discussed what I envisioned for my wedding. When we were down she said " I'll have your quote ready for you in a week. If you don't hear from me, email me.". Right away i thought why would she take so long to give me a quote? Nevertheless, I was excited to be getting my first flower quote for my wedding. A week went by and I heard nothing from her. I waited a few more days and grew impatient so i emailed her asking about my quote. Well a few more days went by before i decided to email her again. She responded with some lame excuse on how she didn't get my email and then she magically found it. She FINALLY gave me a quote, which in my opinion was way over priced but that's just me. About two weeks went buy and I decided to change my colors and get a new quote for the type of flowers I wanted so I called Lindy and asked her if I needed to schedule and appointment to come in again and she she said no I could just email her and I'd be quick to revise it and email me back. I emailed her my new color scheme along with pictures of what I liked. Guess what a week went by and no response from her so at this point I thought to myself, she doesn't want m,y business so I will not try to contact her again. About another week went by and someone from the office called me asking if I was going to want to hire them because they were going to be "closing" my date. I told the guy that Lindy never got back to me so he transferred me to her again. I decided to give her another chance and asked her to revise my last quote and told her that I had emailed her new color scheme already and I told her the exact date and time I did so she could look for it in her email because she conveniently lost it. The person who ordered it said it was from Duke at City of Commerce Flowers. She told me that the business charges reasonable prices and that they are also very nice people. I admit that I have not had personal contact with the company, but based on that centerpiece alone, I will use them the next time I need a florist. Update: I finally got around to ordering a birthday arrangement for a friend's mother. They were very nice and patient on the phone and delivered on time. City of Commerce Flowers provides the sort of service that business used to provide decades ago, at least in my imagination. Duke is a very sweet and pleasant business owner who, despite how it first appears, has everything under control and works with his customers to make their vision come true. His staff is courteous, and though they appear to be a bit disorganized, they get everything done perfectly on the day that matters. Duke was recommended to me by a friend who as a wedding coordinator had recommended him to many of her past clients. I was planning a wedding in LA while I was living 3000 miles away. I was initially concerned about this place, given that it is all the way in commerce, boy was I wrong. I brought an iPad with a bunch of inspiration photos of flowers and bouquets, Duke knew every flower I mentioned and worked with me to create the perfect arrangements. When he saw that I was not 100% happy with the sample centerpieces and bridesmaid bouquets his staff created a month before the wedding, he spent 20 minutes with me switching the flowers and the vases until we came up with the perfect arrangement. On the day of the wedding, I was not only blown away by how beautiful and absolutely PERFECT the bouquets came out, but I could not stop staring in awe at our Chuppah during the ceremony. It was exactly how I pictured it! Duke's staff was so accommodating, they even came by my house to pick up the deposit when I was too overwhelmed with wedding planning the week before. They even transferred flowers from my Chuppah and took them to a separate location where our reception was held and arranged them beautifully on our sweetheart table. If it was possible to give no stars I would click none! I am extremely disappointed with the service the company gave me. Flowers were supposed to be delivered at 12 noon to church for wedding, they arrived at 12:50pm. Church was delayed and they put us under a lot of stress. I called the place 3x and the person answering the phone was very rude. They need to make sure they leave with enough time to make sure even if there is traffic, the delivery of the flowers is still on time. It is not okay to deliver flowers to a wedding or any event an hour later. EXTREMELY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more

Don't be fooled. Their demo centerpieces are superior to the actual centerpieces the day of the wedding. They even had pictures and they failed to reproduce the product to the sample. They charged for delivery and set up and there was no set up. The flowers were just dropped off and the crew left. Duke was very kind and easy to do business with and very helpful. The samples they create for you and the product they deliver the day of did not compare. The centerpieces with lanterns were supposed to be two rows of flowers and fuller in order for the lantern to sit higher. The day of the wedding, there was one skimpy row and it was mostly greenery with four roses opened up. Nothing like the sample. The lanterns also sat lower and obstructed the view at the table. Unfortunately, you pay them in full up front and there is no recourse. This seems to be a pattern if you read through the reviews. The reason for the three stars is because the bouquets were like the demos. Needless to say, I was disappointed and felt I overpaid for what I got. I will not be recommending them. read more

I ordered birthday flowers for my girlfriend to be delivered to her job from a website. Come to find out, they showed up in a UPS box she had to assemble herself (which was not stated on the website- I got ripped off) and the bouquet was puny. So with only a couple hours left in the day, I called City of Commerce Flowers with an emergency and they came through big time! Delivered within an hour with a huge, beautiful arrangement, the best dozen roses presented in a magnificent bouquet that made her day.
