The girl working went above & beyond helping us make a selection. It seems we went through every bit of the store looking for the perfect gift & went away satisfied. We even received complimentary wrapping on the present. Even though some remaining toy stores have higher prices they had a few sales selections which was cool. There's something for any age child here. Lots of Bruder cars/trucks. Lots of hands on toys & educational stuff too. It's big enough where you can take your time looking through all the cool offerings but not overwhelming. I know you can shop at Walmart & other big box stores but it'll never be the same as these small shops. The quality of toys & selection here are top notch & it's always great to keep money in the community.

I f'ing love Broadside. So many books and cards and stationary sets and shirts and bags and stuff…read more So much. And it's all so delightful. The employees are kind and happy to help you find things you love. Amid the pandemic, they had a sign showing Jane Austen with a mask. It was PRECIOUS. The prices are generally the stock price of the book (no Barnes & Noble discounts here), but we all love supporting small businesses, especially local book stores. You can order through their Bookshop.org page or directly from their website and pick up in store (save the shipping costs). Overall, big big fan of Broadside. Go show them some love...

As a West Coaster I have many bookstores to patronize and usually order from Amazon as I read as…read moremuch as I can. However after finding this little gem of a bookstore I can now say I order from Broadside! The shipping is more than reasonable and the selection is as all encompassing as I see online. The staff is tenured and reliable, one of the staff "Brenna" keeps a running log of what I read and like and when they have three or four they go ahead and charge my card and ship them out. It is so delightful to find a package of books waiting for me when I get home, I just dive right in. Thanks Broadside, Brenna and the rest of the fabulous crew for making reading even more fun.

I get such a kick coming here with my middle son to get his textbooks for his college courses - just as I did when his brother went to uni out here and just as I did when I was at school here. As soon as I walked in, the woman behind the counter directed to me to "the mask basket". Can't recall the last time I was asked to put on a mask, but I complied. Normally I would've walked out, but I figured I was only going to be in there for a few minutes and I had traveled a distance to get to this location, so the least I could do was satisfy her paranoia. Or perhaps authoritarian viewpoint ? Not sure which it was, but I was the only person in the shop at the time. After I was shown the SF/Fantasy section, I found a paperback right away from one of my favorite authors. 2 bucks, made putting up with the mask nonsense worth it. Jumped back in the vehicle and headed to the next Used bookstore !

Can I just tell you how SUPER PSYCHED I am that a) this…read morebookstore is actually still open (when you drive by, it often looks like it's closed) b) it's just down the street from my house c) they have an absolute TON of books Upon first glance, Redbrick (one word) looks like a relic of times past. The red brick industrial building has it's own parking lot, which is a bit of a kamikaze move to get into. Once inside, you're surrounded on all fronts by books upon books upon books. A treasure trove of literature! The books are grouped into general sections: children's, self-help, religion, cookbooks, fiction, classics, romance, etc. The distinctions between these groups aren't as clear as they could be, so this bookstore is more for the patient, the ones who get great joy out of finding a really cool classic or a collection of stories from their childhood. It will take awhile to peruse the whole store, but I guarantee you'll find some winners in there. Most of the books (paperback, hardback) and magazines are from decades past. I saw few "newer" books on the shelves interspersed. Some of the books, particularly the children's books and those by the windows, have had their covers sun-bleached. I, for one, love the classics and enjoy collecting antique books and quite enjoyed myself here. Many of their older books (away from the windows) have aged very well. I purchased two of Hemingway's novels, another smaller antique book, and a fictional hardback from the 70s, with a very "period" cover. We spent the better part of an hour in there, enjoying the opportunity to browse! Check out is toward the front, where a husband and wife team sit and chat, read, or browse the web. Being in business for 34 years (!), you know they really have a true love for literature and I really hope they have no intention of closing down. Their prices are pretty affordable: the four books (2 classics, 1 antique, and 1 retro) came to about $14. And, as a note, they do accept debit cards for purchases over $10. A sign spattered about the store claims that most books are 50% off, unless written otherwise inside the cover. If you're a bibliophile, an avid reader, a book collector, an imaginative mind, you'll absolutely love stepping back in time at Redbrick. I highly recommend this as a "cool" place to spend a little time and a little cash.

Yeah, I may be 67 but you never get too old to need a teddy to love, especially in the pandemic with isolation nipping at your heels. I have been in isolation in my apartment for 8 months now without human contact and really needed a teddy bear. So while visiting my sister from Florida one of my missions was to find a teddy bear to take home with me. A2z Science had just what I was looking for! Their customer service was awesome! When I was having trouble finding just what I needed, one of the employees came up, found out what I needed and took me right over to where my new teddy was waiting for me! I was able to avoid the other customers for social distancing and was out of the store very quickly. I also found a little stuffed animal that reminded me very much of my little Chihuahua who had passed away in March, and I took her home too. I love this store!

The bathrooms were decorated with murals and were so entertaining. What I also loved is there is a section that they put our new toys for the kids to try out while they are there. Period…read more The staff members have clearly earned their stripes - they are ALL incredibly knowledgeable, helpful AND friendly. That's the Customer Service Trifecta right there! They know not only their regular customers, but they also understand their community, and their products. Their First Editions Club is incredible. You can tell how much time and effort and CARE goes in to the book choice. Not only do you get a book mailed to you every month, but it's also signed by the author. Not only is it signed, but it's also covered in Mylar dust jackets, protecting the book for years to come. I can understand signing up to get a signed book by an author, but the Odyssey makes it so much more. They're not just sending a random book to you, they are carefully selecting books that they believe recognition, and many times, those selected titles go on and win awards! Now you have a signed first edition copy of a book by a hot new author -- and maybe you met the author at the store during their talk! The Odyssey's attention to detail just blows me away. You don't get that at other stores. I could LIVE at The Odyssey with all of the events they have... There is always, ALWAYS something going on for all age groups, whether it's monthly Young Adult Author panels, book clubs for different genres, or crafts for the kids, you will never be bored. Creativity abounds at The Odyssey. They also have events off-site, at local libraries, schools and colleges. I have never seen another book store reach out to the community like The Odyssey. If I had to choose one word to describe this fabulous place, I couldn't think of a better word than LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Continue to support local book stores - visit The Odyssey!

Whatever my changing area of interest over the years -- gender & women's studies, religious studies & history, European history, French history, history of French, linguistics, political science, and now back to gender & women's studies again -- they almost always have a section for it. (Could use more robust subsections for trans/NB/queer studies under gender and for Wicca/pagan studies under religion, tbph. Clearly not the owners' areas of interest. But there's Haymarket Books for that, I guess.) And always a surprise or three. Reviewer who said grab stool & plop down purse next to you and just go row by row said it perfectly. And remember, if you have a used book you haven't read before, it's new.

A section of modern library books near the checkout counter which are priced very reasonably and are 3$ -6$ or so. The rest of the books (depending on topic) range from 4$ to about 25$ or so. They have books on every topic you can imagine! Store just seems to keep going! I recommend planning to spend 1.5-2hrs here!
