The location is fantastic, in a safe and bustling area with lots of shops, bars, and restaurants within quick and easy walking distance. Public transportation, live theater, and other local attractions are within a 5 to 15 minute walk from the hotel. With just 80 rooms, the hotel feel very intimate although it's part of the Accor chain. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, which can be hit or miss in France. I truly felt like they were happy to have me as a guest. The rooms, while on the small side, felt very luxurious and was modern and looked brand new. I loved the artsy vibe and the dark red and black color scheme felt oh so French. It quickly became my very favorite hotel room of the many I stayed in during a 3 week jaunt through the country. I especially loved the free wifi and high quality bed linens, and little touches like lighted vanity mirrors and plush robes made me feel spoiled! My room even had a mini wrought iron balcony that was the perfect setting for sipping wine in the evening. I hate to share the secret of this hotel, but it is a fantastic property! Stay here if you are in Lyon, you won't be disappointed!

It's located on the river front and everything is easily accessible by walk. Breakfast was not included and if you pre book it it's 25 euros, but if you decide the morning of it's 39 euros. That was a bit odd to me , but I ended up prebooking it. The room was nice and spacious and very clean. There was a fridge and a safe. The bathroom and shower are separate from each other which is nice for sanitary reasons. I enjoyed the food at the hotel. I got room service one night because I had some of credits to use from my Amex perks. Everything was great and the staff was courteous and friendly.

The staff were friendly, the room was large, and the amenities were excellent. Wi-fi was strong. Breakfast was good. My biggest piece of advice is to choose your room type carefully. I booked a river-view room. Although the river view was nice, it also meant we were overlooking the road, which was busy and noisy all night long. Cars, sirens, music blaring from cars...sleeping was a challenge. I would stay at the Boscolo again, but I would choose a courtyard view and hope for more quiet and more sleep.

On the other hand I can't say the same for the quality of the bedding or cleanliness of the rooms. I don't understand why it's a 5 star hotel. To my view it's more like a 3 star. I think the Association that assigned it the 5 stars has to revisit the hotel. There were countless amount of scuff marks on the walls, the carpets were stained, there was dust on furniture and baseboards of hallways and rooms. Some of the furniture looked old. The bed was very uncomfortable and it felt like they just layer down a pair of think blankets under the sheets to make it feel more cushiony. The bathroom sink was broken, The tub was stained, the furniture was broken, etc. I would not stay at this hotel again. Not too far from the train station. Make sure to try their breakfast. Well worth 27€ per person. The decor in the common areas was spectacular. I especially liked the breakfast room.

We were in room 101 for two nights which faced the Saône River. As we only had two days to explore Lyon, we opted for a bike tour which we explored on our own, and also did a fair bit of hiking around the area, but also had the hotel book a Lyonnaise dinner at a local bouchon the night before we left. The hotel has its own kitchen and makes breakfast and sandwiches for lunch, not included in your accommodation. Lyon is know as the gastronomic capital of the world, and it is well deserved with selections of food and wine pairings that make your mind spin. We visited the Basilica Notre Dame of Fourviere which was up a steep incline behind the hotel about 1 mile away, and had a very good view of the town. Loved our stay here. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly.

The owner reached out to me on the morning of my check in to arrange a meeting time. I did not see his email which went to my spam folder. So he wasn't there when I showed up. Luckily he wasn't too far and we connected about 10 - 15 minutes later but then everything went wrong. First the hotel's address on Hotels.com is not the correct address. The owner sent me to the right address telling me wait outside he will be right there with the apartment key he left in his office. He showed up 15 minutes later stating his wife left the office and he does not have the key to get in and get my key. He couldn't get his wife to come back because she had to go the hospital; she and I talked when she left and she looked fine to me. I spent two hours outside of the building waiting for him to find the key without any updates. Albeit apologetic when he finally got hold of the key he said this wasn't his fault. By then I lost all my patience got my refund and booked a room at the nearby Hotel Carlton which had available and caring staff.
