The staff is amazing. The hotel is clean, breakfast was the usual but ok. I requested and received a handicap accessible room to accommodate my mom. It was clean and had everything we needed. EXCEPT.... the shower know was broken. The front desk clerk worked on it and got the hot hot water on... but couldn't turn it off! Maintenance arrived and was able to turn it off but they needed a new know on Mother's day Sunday! We were I offered a room across the hall but it wasn't ADA. The only other ADA room was a king room and there are 3 of us. The manager, desk clerk and Maintenance guy worked to get the shower repaired and keep us in our room. My only complaint.... everything feels wet. The floors, the sofa, bed linens... damp. We'll stay here again! read more

So I chose this place over some of the other hotels in the area based on review's on different platforms. I'm thoroughly disappointed. First walking in the door clearly states face masks must be worn. So we put ours on and go check in. The woman behind the counter wasn't wearing one. I guess staff isn't required to? So why not take the sign off the door that says it's required? Next she tells us rooms won't be cleaned every day because of covid. Ok. I don't get that unless they are so busy cleaning and disinfecting everywhere else. The lobby looks nice so I'm thinking to myself phew! Not a roach motel like I read about a lot of the other brands that I normally stay at in the area. We were there helping my son move, so we literally dropped our bags in room and left to take care of getting him settled in to his new place. We come back later exhausted. I ALWAYS check bedding for bugs before I lay down. When I pull the sheets back I find a lot of random hairs. Obviously not mine! I try to give benefit of the doubt. Maybe static coming from laundry but surely the sheets must be washed!? I brush them off. Later we find pieces of bacon on the floor. Turning on the light realize the couch is stained. I open the closet and there are pieces of a cookie dough chocolate bar!!! There was random toilet paper under the vanity in bathroom. We were too tired to find someone to clean the room, especially since they said you had to request it with a paper you have to fill out and give to front desk in advance. When we woke up we were leaving for the day and saw the cleaning lady. I asked if I could give her the paper or if I had to give it to front desk. I asked for full service. She looked at me like I was crazy knowing we just checked in. I said we need new linens and vacuum for sure. No need for towels. But it didn't even look like surfaces had been wiped down! She said I'll try to squeeze it in. Squeeze it in???? I made sure to Mark the sheets so I would know if they changed them or not. They partially did. The top sheet not the bottom of one. At this point we were checking out the next day and again just too tired for the hell I wanted to raise. The beds were also spring and not comfy. They look comfy but our backs were all messed up after. The breakfast was literally what the kids get for breakfast in school. All Pre packaged stuff like Pillsbury pancakes and frudels, cereal, oatmeal etc. Better than nothing I guess but no real healthy options. But for covid environment happy for prepackaged. Stayed at the Fairfield Inn for the last 2 days in town and had the best stay! Cleaning protocols way better! Room was immaculate! I will never stay at this Comfort ever again! I don't know that I'll ever stay with the brand ever again. So disappointed. read more

This was our second stay at this property in a month, and we were fairly pleased. The breakfast that included eggs and sausage last month had been downgraded due to the recent COVID19 surge ( I don't understand how reducing your food choices reduces the transmission of a virus) and it would have been nice to have that posted on their website so we could have planned on going out for real breakfast as opposed to pop tarts. They were lacking a bit in housekeeping this time around (there is a job posting for that position out front) evidenced by food left over in the refrigerator from previous occupants and the floor had very obviously not been vacuumed. A quick visit to the desk had that resolved quickly. The customer service was great both times; I had called 2 days before requesting a particular room and it was not available but they got me into the one next to it. read more

Free breakfast was a joke The room was great. Plenty roomy. Just don't expect a good breakfast. We got down there at 6:30 and the waffle mix was already empty, the eggs were burnt and the bacon and sausage was gone. The girl that was supposed to be taking care of it was in the back with some other guest. You could hear them laughing and at one point I could hear the man sneezing back there. ewwww. They came out and she sits at the table with him, about 5 minutes later she gets the sausage out. Too late for me. I'm not eating what someone just sneezed on. read more

Stayed here on 7/6/2016; Comfort has obviously done some renovating since the last time I stayed at this chain. It was nice inside, offered complimentary wifi and breakfast from 6-9a, small pool, satelite TV, small workout room with towel service. We needed some milk overnight for my toddler, the chick at the front desk gave us some. Very nice, lady saved us a trip out late to the store. Incredible hotel for the price. The place is very clean with comfortable beds and big rooms. The foyer is quite pretty with wood , fireplace and a big tv. This is not a resort hotel, but a very good choice if you're going to spend a night or two in Bay City. Good location too around known restaurants. read more

I was a guest there at the Comfort Suites on 7th Avenue, in Bay City, Texas, in room 319, from Thursday, December 7, 2017 through checkout on Tuesday morning, December 12, 2017, during which time, I was directly exposed to some kind of fungal bacteria emanating from the underside of the toilet rim, which, had probably not been cleaned in months. I first noticed a slight tingling on my lower back and right rear upper thigh on Friday night and Saturday morning, but didn't look at the areas or think much of it until the areas began to itch on Sunday morning. At this time, I also was experiencing a tingling on my right buttock and looked at the areas as best I could with my magnifying mirror, but the positioning was hard to see it well. The tingling was stronger at this time. By Monday morning, the tingling was an itching and I avoided scratching the areas. I went back into the bathroom to see what could have caused the itching and irritations, since I wiped the toilet seat down on arrival days earlier. I thought it could not have been the seat itself. So, I took tissue and wiped under the rim of the toilet. I was horrified to see how filthy the tissue was.. I performed this a number of times, each wipe still revealed an inordinate amount of the same black-brown and speckled matter on the tissue. I then video recorded the before, during and after of my wiping the underside of the rim, revealing still more of the black-brown accumulated nasty, probably toxic, bacteria-filled fungal matter. Having heard the housekeeping lady in the hall earlier, I looked out and saw her cart towards the end of the hall and went to take her my old towels and get more. I also asked her if she could come and clean the toilet under the rim. Not seeming to understand, I offered to show her. She came to look at what I was talking about and I showed her, with one wipe, how nasty it was under the rim. She indicated that she would come back. (I am not sure if she spoke English at all, because she only seemed to nod as I explained everything to her.) I assumed that she planned to come after she finished the other rooms and worked her way back down the hall to my room. When I needed to use the bathroom and since she still had not come back, I called the front desk. While I was asking them to have someone come clean under the rim, Marshall, from the front desk, came to the door, with a clipboard and said that he understood that the room had not been cleaned and that I had called about the toilet needing to be cleaned. I told him that my Do Not Disturb sign had been on the door each day and that I was exchanging my own towels, etc, and that the toilet, however, had clearly, not been cleaned under the rim in a VERY long time, perhaps months. I offered to show him, but he declined and went and spoke with the housekeeping person.I also told him that I needed it done soon so that I could use the toilet.. When she had not come in six minutes, I went into the hall and asked her if I could use her toilet bowl cleaner and I would do it myself. She said nothing and gave me a plastic spray bottle labeled as an air freshener. I told her that is not what I need. I needed something to clean the toilet. She then handed me a different plastic spray bottle, marked "bleach" which I then took and tried my best to spray under the rim. The problem then was that the sprayer worked fine when it was right side up, but not so well when turned on its side or upside down to spray under the rim, not to mention that this was not a true toilet bowl cleaner and sanitizing solution. Nonetheless, I was able to then spray the bleach onto tissues and wipe under and around the rim several times and flush the toilet repeatedly to get it to where the tissue was almost clean upon wiping, before I again cleaned the seat and wiped everything with water, before I felt that I could use the toilet safely. In my experience, this should never have occurred (the lack of a safe and sanitary/sterile toilet, my having to be the one to clean the toilet and the resulting skin irritations, resulting from exposure to what appears to be toxic bacteria (fecal and other matter) ). I am not sure what the sanitation guidelines are at Comfort Suites at 5100 7th Street in Bay City, Texas, but I am certain that the lack of attention to the sanitation standards of hotels, particularly as related to toilets, have not been followed. The hotel offered 20% off on a future hotel stay, but this is insufficient and I will never stay there again, or recommend that hotel. I will publish the video on social media and YouTube so others will check their hotel bathrooms and hold the hotels accountable under these kind of conditions. read more

The pool was out of order. The photos online show a hot tub, but there's not a hot tub there. They told us breakfast was open until 10am. We got down to eat at 9:34 only to find they closed it at 9:30. The staff didn't seem to care. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were updated but you can be sure we won't be back here again. read more

Not a bad hotel just could use some help.. For one the parking lot is tiny and if the hotel is full you won't be able to find a parking spot. Wi-Fi is a joke with a 1 MB download speed. The breakfast was very lacking. The juice dispenser was broken and if you don't drink coffee than don't plan on anything to drink with your meal. I got there half hour after it started and they were pretty slim on avilable hot items. Grabbed a yogurt to only discover it was almost two weeks expired. The rooms are not bad, bed was comfortable and the AC worked great. The bathtub was pretty chipped up though. read more

This was by far the best hotel stay I have ever had in Bay City. We stayed here for a family reunion and it was great. The hot breakfast was filling with bacon and eggs and the rooms were great too. We got their suite with sofa bed and it was way big for me and my wife. The pool was clean and relaxing. The staff was great too.. they helped us find a vet in town for our cat. I will def. stay here again when i visit Bay City. Thanks guys! read more
