The rooms are new, clean, pretty, and quiet- no rattling AC/heat unit! The pool is lovely. You pay for breakfast but you can choose a great buffet. I have rated my stay at 5 stars but I do need to mention one concern I have. Both times I came here, (once in the daylight and once at night), I struggled to see the entrance to the curvy driveway which goes straight up a hill where the hotel sits. Please... a sign at road level (lit at night) is imperative. I was side-swiped by a car both times as I inched along trying to find the driveway entrance. Fix this problem and this wonderful hotel deserves 10 stars- really!! Thank you for a great stay!

Nice quality towels & not too expensive but not cheap. I stayed in a hot tub room - my only complaint is the yellow stain that forms around the top of the water while in the tub & once you get out. Also the bubbles turn yellow-ish while relaxing in the tub. It's not necessarily oily but I did voice my concern. The cleaning lady told me the maintenance would check into it - however second night the yellow stuff formed again on the top of the water! Weird & Yucky! Otherwise convenient location next to Mingo County courthouse & parking is across street included in your room cost! Good people & recommendation high! Enjoy a nice sleep! Ask for a room by 2nd street though the train and traffic all night will keep you awake during the night on the back side!

Figured it was worth it as it was getting dark and Beckley is 30 some miles away. The hotel is situated 3 miles from downtown Welsh on Hwy 16 (Stewart Street). It's a very quaint motel. Met the clerk at the motel (who met us at the office since no one is there 24/7) and checked in which was a very easy process. She was very personable and friendly. She informed they recently got a new mayor who is very ATV friendly....which hopefully will boost business. The room was very clean and loved that it included a refrigerator and microwave. The tiled bathroom floor and tiled entry area were pretty sticky and the carpet didn't look completely vacuumed. But overall the cleanliness was good. There isn't a coffee maker in the room but I did notice there is one in the lobby. But since no one is in the lobby 24/7 and it remains locked, I'm not sure how someone would access it. There is WIFI but it was pretty weak...assuming the equipment is in the office and my room was the farthest one away. Overall, it's a cute motel that's comfortable and has most of the necessities. It sure beats driving in the dark on some of these windy roads. Highly recommend!
