I spent last night at the Comfort Inn. Like the last time, my room had an odd shape. The bed was comfy. I've stayed here before. It's not a fancy place but it's the closest to my client's location and I had to be there at 6am. Parking, a continental breakfast (I didn't have a chance to check it out) and WIFI (it was speedier as the night went on) were included. My room had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc. I liked that there was a window I could open to let fresh air in. There are strip malls nearby and it's just off the 401. read more

Donna at the front desk is extremely rude and unprofessional. At 7:30 am after grabbing breakfast I kindly asked for a new key for my room. I was told I am not staying in the room mentioned. She refused to check the system for my name. Made me walk back to the room to "check if it's my room". She said she knew who was staying in 115 and it wasn't me. Still all while refusing to check the system where my name and credit card are clearly on file. upon coming back she told me that thats not the room I mentioned. Used profanity towards me. And then took another 10 minutes to make my key. I was attacked fully unprovoked and will be calling head office about this experience. I am a paying customer and all she had to do was check the system to see my name was there, instead she disrespected me and used her "authority" to bully and taunt me. I will not be staying at this property again. and Donna at the front desk should not be working here nor in any other customer service field. read more

I'm finishing my review from the end of May... My company booked this place again so I had the delight of staying here for the night (once again, not by choice). I already knew it would be a shit show due to previous experience with this chain in Oshawa. CONFIRMED. My room reeked of smoke even though they are all *supposed to be* nonsmoking rooms. My antihistamines couldn't even help me on that one. Pretty much, I couldn't breathe the whole night. Not my idea of comfort. This inn never lives up to its name (read my review for the Oshawa counterpart). Hilarious how they have a sign in the room saying guests had to pay a fine if they detected smoke, in order to cover the costs of purifying the room. That definitely did not happen in my room or no one seemed to care. Probably both. Also, the room beside me had dogs, which was slightly annoying because of the random barking. At least it didn't happen while I was sleeping. However, they pissed all over the hallway, and since it is carpet, the stench lingered and travelled. If I had a choice, I would never, ever, ever stay in this chain again. read more

Spent 2 nights (Aug 3rd and 4th) at this motel and I was relatively pleased, especially after checking the reviews AFTER I had booked in. Check-in was a bit confusing as the motel was completely booked, but the staff did the best they could and remained professional and courteous. I was a bit concerned about security when the staff told me that they would be having 2 police officers provide overnight security (I guess because it was a long weekend and they anticipated problems) but it was very quiet both nights and I had 2 great sleeps. The majority of the guests seemed to be young (10 - 12 year olds) baseball and soccer players who were playing in tournaments. They were certainly better behaved that I was at that age. The breakfast included coffee, juice, packaged waffles and danishes, cereal, bread for toasting, boiled eggs etc. The breakfast area was clean and was well stocked throughout the morning. This motel is well situated. It's about a 5 minute drive from the 401. It is within a 10 minute walk to the LCBO (important to me) and grocery stores (important to wife). There is free wi-fi that is suitably fast. I would not hesitate to recommend this motel. read more

Your average middle road chain hotel. A little noisy because we were at the end of the hall near the stairwell, but not so much that we felt the need to complain. Not spotless, yet not so dirty that I felt uncomfortable letting my 1-year-old crawl around the room. Breakfast buffet had enough variety that everyone found something to eat. A little unorganized at the front desk, but everything was sorted out to everyone's satisfaction. Like I said, your average stay at a chain hotel. read more

The rooms are not as big as the pictures that you see the coffee pot does not work but I Jimmy did up to work however there was no caffeinated coffee so I went to the front desk to try and get caffeinated they only had decaffeinated so much for their no dog policy there was a dog in almost every single room not sure if I would come back read more

I read a few reviews of this hotel that were both good and bad. Because of the bad ones I was skeptical when I walked into the room and gave it a good once over before I touched anything. I normally do not stay in Comfort Inns but Marriott and Hiltons but this was for a hockey tournament and had little choice as rooms were rare at booking. The verdict was the room was clean, neat and tidy. I had zero issues with it at all. If I had any issues with it would be the stale smell it had. It almost smelled like it had been smoked in, which is odd given this is a smoke free hotel. My wife arrived a few hours later, and even though I had left the window open, heat off and room empty she felt the same. By the second night the staleness was gone. The room they gave me was nice and large. It had a "queen" bed and pull out sofa which was what I wanted given there was 4 of us in the room for the one night. There was plenty of space for a blow up mattress had I brought one. Now the description did say I would have a fridge, which I did not. I didn't say anything as honestly I did not care one way or another. I might have misread and it was available upon request. Breakfast the next morning was good. My one and only complaint would be the room was very crowded (as I said earlier there was a wide spanning hockey tourney in town), but in the hotels defense I didn't get there until 9:00 and friends of ours that were staying there too said at 7:30 it was quiet. Never the less the food was plentiful, hot and the staff friendly. The ugliest part of the stay would have been our room location. We were in room 250, at the top of the stairs nearest the main lobby. There was a fire door right outside my room door that people could not learn to open and close with any consideration. The next night it was propped open, maybe someone complained. I didn't figuring they could not do anything about it given it is a fire door. When I went down to get new keys, something happened to my current one and mentioned the open door they told me I could leave it open if I wished. If you are going to stay here I would recommend not staying in any room near the stairs. Our other friends who were in this hotel said their room was nice and quiet. So, would I stay here again? Yes, I would if I could not get into one of my preferred brands. Staff was great from the front desk to the food folks to the cleaning crew. read more

We're a family.very clean, responsible. We only have a cat. We stayed at Comfort Inn, Pickering for over 2 years. Most people at this hotel who stayed for months/yrs here have pets, specially a big dog, they have changed their rooms few times. I've seen that the hotel changed their rooms at least 3 times during at least 8 months period. The hotel changed our room 3 times at the very beginning. But the hotel stopped changing our room. We have been at the same room for 2 years and 6 months. Imagine 3 people with a small cat living in a 300 Sq feet for 2 and a half years!!! 2 and half yrs, the hotel stopped to change our room altogether!Our carpet is filty dirty, smelly, moldy, black. Our walls have stains. Under our beds, the vaccum doesnt go, there are layers of thick dust and dirt. They only clean our bathroom. We vaccumed our own room. But the big bulky vaccum cant reach the corners or under beds. I complained fifty times to the manager, the top manager, to choice hotel, to the head office. They are as stubborn as hell. They dont change their mind! They said 5 times we came, fully clean led, washed your carpet and cleaned your room, but 5 times all they did, they just came check our room, they never washed the carpet and they told us to leave the room all day, when I came back back, the room was as filty and dirty as before!!! They just say, oh please cooporate with us, we will send housekeepers to clean your room, but their cleaning is like flying the flies in our room, nothing more! They only keep promising they clean our room but when they come, they do nothing and the room stays as dirty filty moldy and distcusting as before!!! We complained to everybody, to the manager, to head manager, to choice hotel, to choice hotel head quarter, nobody cares about our healt here. Im asthmatic, I had big surgeries few days ago. The nurse came saw our room, she got upset, she went talk to the hotel staff and she was concerned about my health, the Comfort Inn just keeos saying, we will clean your room but they already tried it but the room is extremly dirty. There are spider webs and molds on the wall. The carpet has deep layers of dirts, stains. Under our beds with deep layers of dusts, it really concerns me and my family badly!!! Im afraid of getting infections after surgery! Comfort Inn hotel at Pickering are stubborn as hell and they don't budge and they refuse to change their minds! They say, we don't change your room because you have a pet. First of all we have a cat. She takes a shower. But others have big dogs and the owners did change their rooms few times!!!! Do not go to this hotel. Booked into room with dirty sheets and loud highway noise. Would not move Us to another room in the otherwise almost empty hotel. Then asked for money back.... Was told that "people" rent rooms for short periods ( ie hookers etc ?). We lost our money and where forced to find other accomodations on our way back to Ottawa. read more

I have spent a lot of time in motels , mainly because of my work. In my opinion this comfort Inn in pickering has to have the worst staff at the front desk that I had to deal with !!! You could find someone off the streets that could do a better job . I have spent 2 separate weeks here and both times I have had trouble upon arrival with my reservations , they the staff just seem like they have no clue as to what they are doing . Very disappointed with the hassle at the desk, I will say that the rooms I've stayed in were decent and clean and I never had problems with noise or anything else , just wish they would get there shittogether at the desk. The only reason I come here is because the location is perfect for my work other than that I would avoid the front desk like the plague !! read more
