Stains on curtain, picture doesn't do the filth justice. Like someone splashed an entire soda on it.
Denmark K.

Bad bad bad comfort inn. Booked through choice app and didn't do our homework because we've always had great luck with choice. This is a bad confront in. Extremely small bathrooms and rooms. Rooms need a lot of tlc. Wedges left from last repairs, dressers chipped and boards placed under them to level them. Filthy window blinds, small TVs, poor construction quality, dirty bathroom fans. Staff is below average, they didn't do anything egregious just not great. Obvious drug use on the 3rd floor. Noises are heard in all directions in the rooms, extremely thin walls. Very sketch clientele; makes you feel uncomfortable. We're only staying for a night so we'll make due but if we were here multiple we would leave and find somewhere else. Pay the extra 150 to stay at mgm or just stay home. This place is bad. See the pics. This place has the appearance of a run down apartment. Bad bad bad. Disgusting. Don't come here at all cost.

Whatever filth was blowing out of our AC unit
Diona H.

I don't even know where to begin with this place... I was in town for work and was to stay here for a little less than a week. When you walk in the door everything looks dingy and it smells like a public restroom in the entire hotel. We got to our room and noticed there were stains on the linens and the curtains and that the AC was also filthy with who-knows-what. The room and everything in it felt cold and damp and I could not even comfortably sit in there, let alone sleep there. I checked for a new room with the front desk to no avail and the concierge offered me some blankets to sleep on instead and said she'd have the linens changed and AC vent cleaned the next day. I left early for work because I couldn't take being there another second and, when I came back, nothing was different. I ended up staying with family in the area the entire time.

Room looked nice & was clean.

If you attending a busy event or convention at the Gaylord, MGM, or National Harbor, the Harborside…read moreis a real hidden gem. We stayed here during MAGfest 2026. The hotel provided a shuttle which ran 24 hours during the event and was always there in a few minutes. There was only one time it was full and we just took an Uber because we didn't want to wait. It's about a 6 minute ride and the shuttle fits 14 people. That alone makes ithe hotel invaluable. It's much further and more expensive (if you are Ubering) to get to the Alexandria hotels. The hotel itself was decent. The staff were friendly. There were police/security vehicles with their lights on at night in the parking lot. The hotel is sort of isolated and right next to a Top Golf so it didn't feel sketchy, despite being in Oxon Hill (which is definitely sketchy). The other people staying in the hotel seemed to be mostly conference attendees. Parking is free and the lot is large (a huge plus). The rooms were quiet, clean, basic, and appeared to have been recently updated. There were a few cosmetic issues, no stopper for the bathtub, and the soap dried my skin out, but these were minor and easy to overlook because we weren't really spending a lot of time there. Clean and quiet are what really count! The free breakfast is mostly carbs. Your options are coffee/tea/juice/milk, bagels, pastries, toast, cereal, and fruit. I will definitely be staying here again during MAGfest and am delighted to have discovered this gem. Thanks Harborside!

Our reunion event was important to our class, but my experience with Harborside's management and…read moreevent coordination was very disappointing. At the conclusion of the event, the manager Suelyne Brown, yelled "Get out" on the microphone to guests as the evening was ending. The committee members who were under the impression a later stay was needed to close out, and cleanup had to quickly gather their items and leave the space. This was done publicly and in a manner that many attendees found humiliating and unprofessional. Additionally, at no point did Ms. Brown formally introduce herself to the reunion committee, explain her role for the evening, or review event logistics with us before the event. This lack of communication created a level of confusion and set a poor tone for coordination. A couple of weeks prior to the event, a request was also made for a committee member to tour one of the rooms included in our group booking, but we were told no rooms were clean or available to view, which was both surprising and concerning given the size of our booking. We also discovered only upon arrival that the Portum Lounge was closed--this was never disclosed during booking--leaving our overnight guests without any on-site option for meal service. When these concerns were raised after the event, the management response focused more on defending decisions than acknowledging the impact on our guests. This lack of accountability and empathy was deeply disappointing. I do want to note that the food buffet options were delicious, and the wait staff were courteous, attentive, and professional throughout the evening--an experience that stood in stark contrast to the conduct of the on-site event coordinator. Considering Harborside is often viewed as one of the only viable alternatives to MGM for large-scale events in this area, the level of professionalism and communication simply has to be better. Unfortunately, due to these multiple breakdowns, I would not recommend this venue for large or meaningful events where guest experience truly matters.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, and my room had an amazing view of the Potomac River and the Ferris wheel. It was truly an incredible experience from start to finish. I was greeted with a warm "Happy Birthday," and throughout my stay, every staff member I encountered was friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. They truly went above and beyond to make my birthday special. I especially want to give a huge shoutout to Michael, who was there every morning at breakfast. He was the perfect person to see first thing in the morning -- friendly, helpful, upbeat, and genuinely kind. He made each breakfast experience even better. Queen and Kendra were also incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful during my stay. I also have to recognize the wonderful woman who checked me in upon arrival. First impressions matter, and she absolutely delivered. She welcomed me with a beautiful smile, wished me a happy birthday, and immediately made me feel comfortable, valued, and excited to be there. The parking is very easy and accessible to the casino. The stores are fun and the restaurants look great. The atrium is beautiful and I was lucky enough that it was Lunar New Year themed when I visited. The rooms are quite nice and very clean, plus they are spacious. Bed is comfortable and the shower is great. Climate control worked well. It was an enjoyable stay and I would stay here again. The spa was fine, but more on that under separate cover. For food, I ate at the National Market (food court), from both Zizi's Pizza and Noodle Bar, both of which were fine, and I'd eat at again. I also ate at the Bellagio Patisserie, which was good--I liked my flatbread and latte for breakfast, along with my dessert. Room service was enjoyable, as I ordered a very delicious chicken tender and tots meal. I'm not a casino person but I do enjoy walking through one and MGM has a fun vibe. I was hoping to try Blossom during one visit, but it did not open in time. We had drinks in the lobby bar, which is well-appointed and lively with delicious cocktails and great service. We also had drinks at Osteria Costa, but service was not great. The website/app leaves much to be desired. I could not find all needed information and opening times for restaurants and stores were incorrect, which is bewildering and causes one to wonder what else management is overlooking. Staff is super friendly and helpful though, and I am looking forward to returning.

I am fairly sure this new room is one of their "extra" rooms they don't really use due to some odd screws and dust left on the desk, sticky spot on the floor and just general oddness of things. But everything worked, nothing leaked, and we really liked the chaise couch/bed. I don't know if those are in every room but they should promote those more. The market prices are insanely high, you can accept it but having a fridge and microwave cuts down on a lot of that need for the most part. But be prepared for $14 basic chicken patty on a bun prices. The steakhouse had good service tableside though I cannot wait for the truffle trend to end. You know, trying to be responsible adults. When we pulled up to check in there were a few people ahead of us. The receptionist was still very polite to everybody. She answered our questions about parking and we were set. By the way, it's very convenient that the parking garage is right across the street. You can use your room key to enter the hotel from the backside (across from the parking garage). You can get your parking ticket validated to allow in & out access. The decor is modern and updated. I like the way they've set up seating areas by the dining area for say...... a family with small kids to eat together. There are a few TV's on the walls in the sitting areas if you'd like to just chill. The room, or should I say suite, was nice. I like that the TV swivels 360 degrees so you can turn it around to watch while on the couch. Then swivel it to the bed and watch there as well. We had a kitchenette with microwave, plates, glasses, siverware, a stove, etc. The bed was comfy, but the pillows were a bit lumpy. They did the job. The water was HOT and had good pressure. What else do you need? Oh, the gym was pretty good for a hotel gym! They even had kettlebells. They also had a store with plenty of everything you might need while you're there. I felt comfortable there. The door and elevator both required key-card access. The carpet didn't look worn down. The hallways were painted (or it was probably wallpaper) a nice grey color. It really felt homey. We'll be back.

The drawers and cabinets are supplied with plates, cookware, and various utensils. The kitchen has an energy efficient dishwater and a garbage-disposal sink, too! - The free breakfast buffet is pretty good! Hot food bar, waffle makers, cereal, yogurt, bakery good, hot coffee, cold brew, etc. The whole gamut of breakfast food stuffs. - Laundry room! Our trip to D.C. was nearly two weeks long, so this was great towards the end of our trip. You can ask the front desk for a roll of coins in exchange for cash. The washing machine costs $4 to use for one wash cycle. The dryer is similar to costs except you can add in increments of 25 cents. It's by the gym. - There's a gym and workout machines. My husband who used it said it does the job. - The Residence Inn is close to casual eateries, bars and various entertainment venues (if you're into dueling piano spots, you're in luck!), and within walking distance of a CVS pharmacy if you need.
