I stayed one night at the Comfort Inn in Dryden, ON on Sunday, February 25th. I was on my way from Edmonton to the Peterborough area of Ontario. I decided to stay in Dryden based on my driving plan -- it was 8.5 hours from my previous night's stop. I booked the room in advance because I had 3 cats with me and wanted to make sure I got a pet-friendly room AND a room with a patio door to the parking lot.
Check-in was quick and easy and I got the exact room I wanted. Having a door directly to the parking lot (and my car) made it so much easier to unload 3 cats and all our stuff. Plus, the cats got a patio door to look out of during the night!
The room was clean and nice. It had all the stuff I'd expect from a Comfort Inn. The only thing that I wondered about was that the patio doors opened directly onto the carpet of the room. There was no mat on which to step when your boots were covered in snow. It didn't make a difference to me in terms of what I did, but it made me think the carpets must be wet a lot of the time because of that. It might be nice if they had both a mat near the patio door (in the winter) and a boot tray so the carpets didn't get wet (or too wet).
The cats enjoyed the room, as did I. They were, unfortunately, able to hide under the bed, so I had to drag 2 of them out the next morning, but that's why I brought treats!
Check-out was also super easy and loading the car directly from my room was also extremely nice. I was able to grab orange juice and an apple from the breakfast area before I left, but I forgot my travel mug, so I didn't bother to get coffee there.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who has to spend the night in Dryden. And even if you don't have 3 cats to bring in and out, I'd also recommend getting a room with patio doors to the parking lot! read more
