On a whim, I decided to pick a place that I had never been to and stay there over the long Civic…read moreHoliday weekend. I chose Belleville and stayed at this TownePlace Suites. I had no problem finding this location. It's across from a gas station that is still being built. There was plenty of parking. I parked, hauled my luggage and computer bag out of my car, and headed in to check in. I had a wonderful woman with a British accent at the check-in counter help me get all set up. I am a platinum elite member, so I got points as my welcome gift. I got my room cards and was shown where the elevators were. I love TownePlace Suites because you get a kitchenette. My room was compact. If you like roomy, perhaps this place isn't for you. It was roomy enough for me. However, it didn't have a luggage rack. It wasn't a big deal, though. I ended up placing my luggage on the floor and unpacked that way. Anyway, the kitchenette was stocked with an entire full bottle of dishwasher liquid soap. This is rare and a first for me. I have either been happy with a tiny bottle or had to ask the front desk for a bottle. I loved the generosity! I fixed myself snacks and made my smoothie drink with my personal blender. Breakfast is served downstairs. Otherwise, you can always make meals in your room for variety. I slept extremely well. I was on the top floor, which was quiet. The bed was comfortable and spacious. I watched TV from both my bed and the sofa. I was extremely comfortable. The washroom was clean. The shower was great. The water pressure was perfect. Housekeeping did a great job with my room. I was pleased. This hotel is within walking distance from Shoreline Casino, which is next door. You can roll out of the bed and then roll dice at the casino in two minutes tops. I had a fabulous stay at this hotel. I would come back again when I am in town. (338)

The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and well appointed. Great amenities and even a kitchen (full size fridge, dishwisher) that has all the utensils needed to prepare a light meal! 24 hours tea and coffee set up in the lobby area. A nice self serve breakfast which includes hot food. Ample parking and located right next to Shoreline Casino. (You can just walk there!) Highly recommended if you looking for a hotel if you in the area.

The hotel is located just off Ontario Route 401 at Exit 543A, across Front Street from the Quinte Mall. There are plenty of shopping, dining, and outdoor recreational options within walking distance. I had reserved my room ahead of time on the Marriott app and check-in/check-out was very easy thanks to the friendly and efficient staff. The lobby was bright and welcoming, with a small pantry offering a good variety of non-alcoholic beverages and snacks and a small desktop computer and printer for guests' use. My room, which faced the parking lot in the rear of the building, was clean and featured updated furniture, a large LED TV with plenty of US (Detroit) and Canadian content, a reasonable workspace with easy-to-connect free WiFI, and individual HVAC controls that made it easy to manage the temperature during the night. My room was also equipped with a small refrigerator and microwave as well as a single-serve coffee/tea maker. The bathroom had plenty of space on the vanity for my personal hygiene items. If you don't need daily cleaning, you can opt out of it during your stay in exchange for 250 Bonvoy Rewards points. The complimentary all-you-can eat breakfast buffet offers coffee, juices, and a few hot items (which included scrambled eggs, veggie and pork sausage, and Canadian bacon during my stay) as well as muffins and bagels, oatmeal, cereals, fresh fruit, and a pair of make-your-own waffle irons. Be sure to get there early, as the dining area can get crowded at peak times but the staff does a good job keeping everything stocked. PRO TIP: Pack light. This two-story hotel does not have an elevator and all of the rooms, whether on the first floor or second floor, require you to climb at least one flight of stairs from the lobby.

The hotel and rooms were all up to date and very clean. It is ideal for business as they have a desk with power in the room. Employees were helpful and courteous. Only complaint is the egg in the breakfast sandwich was still frozen. I would definitely stay here again.

When I failed to show - because I did not make a reservation - the hotel charged me all the same. When I'd discovered the hotel room was booked, I'd called to cancel right away - 8:30 pm. I made several calls to the manager of this location, as well as Travelodge's Customer Care line before I reached the general manager - Blair Gamble - who had said it was "my error" and was not willing to accept any responsibility for charging a MasterCard without consent of the cardholder, or work towards a satisfactory resolution. He explained they were at capacity and turning people away. (Though I'd cancelled at 8:30pm so surely they didn't lose any profit!). Blair was not empathetic towards my situation in anyway. Cancellation policies make sense, but Blair's unforgiving, lazy, inflexible regard and insistence on upholding rigid policy is just poor customer service. Not recommended.

I stood at the desk for nearly 10 minutes before a custodial staff walked up and asked if I'd been taken care of. Got my room and had to take a rickety AF luggage cart to bring my suitcases and work products to my room, after having to share the ONLY elevator with a fairly strange fellow, I teetered down the hall to my room. The room was incredibly outdated and the patio door looked like it was going to just fall off if it wasn't locked. After I got settled I went for a great walk along the bike paths down by the water and enjoyed my time outside. Explored the hotel a little more and found a really neat indoor access to the outdoor pool. Upon returning to the room I decided to have a shower before going to bed. Well I'm glad I decided to shower at night instead of in the morning because, holy shit, was that shower ever disgusting. There was mold growing around the shower head, black mold. (side note: I've not ever had to wash my shower head in my bathroom since I moved in nearly 2 years ago, and there is no f*$king way that mine looks anything like the one in this room) I went down to the desk and the guy quickly got me set for a different room - and luckily I went to check it out before I moved all my stuff because, tho not as bad, there was a similar situation in the shower. So I went back to the desk and was given yet another room and the attendant advised that my bill would be changed because it was unacceptable. The third room was fine, so I moved all my crap on another luggage cart that was rickety AF yet again. By the time I got settled in my third room of the night it was nearly 10:30 and I was exhausted - mainly bc I decided to take the stairs most of the time instead of waiting for the slow AF single elevator. The shower was fine - water pressure was good, but there's no way I will ever be staying here again. I advise that anyone considering this place to look elsewhere.
