Scammer Rental Car Companies I rented a car in Istanbul. I made the car rental transaction through the vipcars.com website as the car rental company "Alma Car Hire" and the car delivery was made at the "AutoUnion Car Rental" office. The credit card payment receipt says "Comet Rent A Car". I made highway crossings with this vehicle. I made the toll payments of those who had Cash/Credit Card toll booths at the highway crossings via credit card at these toll booths. I notified the car rental company of this situation when I delivered the vehicle. The car rental company adds a 35% service fee to the HGS toll for the toll transactions made with the HGS tag in the vehicle and reflects the result to the customers by adding VAT at 20%. In other words, by adding a service fee to the HGS passes, the VAT of which has already been included by tollway company, and adding VAT to the result again, it reflects a total of 55% additional expense to the customer. The aforementioned car rental company invoiced me a service and VAT fee to the passes that I had already paid at the cash toll booths and withdrew them from my credit card against my will. Although I reached vipcars.com and the rental company many times and explained the situation with the payment receipts, they did not correct the situation. In fact, they keep trying to get away from this case and not wanting to resolve the issue. The car condition was awful. It was full of damages, yet the company made me sign a paper which states no existing damage (before showing the car). The car was also not maintained. Do not rent from them!!! They are dishonest brokers. They use many names and faces. I rented from them through "VIP Cars", another broker that uses third party providers who are mostly crooks. "VIP Cars" charged me a hefty booking fee and full cover insurance and send me to a third-party provider that is currently operating under the name "Auto Union" which is part of "Comet Rent A Car". VIP Cars claimed that their providers have offices at the airport, but it is not true. They are miles away. They picked me up from the airport and drove me to a sparsely populated village called Tayakadin. I felt very uncomfortable, and they were rude. I felt threatened and stuck in a bad position. They altered the booking price and requested full amount once I was at their office. I showed them that I paid several hundred dollars upfront when I made my booking with VIP Cars, but "Auto Union /Comet Rent a Car" did not honor my reservation price nor the amount I paid upfront to "VIP Cars". The office head claimed they do not work with VIP Cars. "Auto Union /Comet Rent A Car" charged me full amount and suggested I dispute the amount I paid upfront to VIP Cars with my credit card company. I tried disputing the upfront amount, but "Comet Rent a Car" sent my rental docs to VIP Cars who used them to prove I rented from Auto Union which is their affiliate, so my Credit Card company rejected my dispute; as a result I got defrauded out of the amount I paid upfront to VIP Cars. They do this almost to everyone that rents from them online. They are a bunch of crooks that hand you from one to another, I ended up paying over 1,700 dollars for an old car, while a world-renowned car company like Hertz charges less for new cars. I thought I would save by renting from VIP Cars based on our reservation agreement, but they did not honor it. VIP Cars and their dishonest provides have old cars with high mileage, worn-out tires, and other issues that old cars usually have. The car they gave me did I not even feel safe to drive. Only rent from well-known providers even if that means paying a bit more to the legit providers that have offices "AT THE AIRPORT".
