I bought a Jaguar from a gentleman in Atlanta a while back. I sent my banker an email telling him I was going to be at a specific branch the next morning at about 10:30 eastern time (30 min after the local branch opens). When I went in, the teller greeted me by name and the manager came out with all the paper ready for the wire transfer. While we were waiting for the wire to process, we went and had lunch with the owner of the car. As we bought the food, the bank called to say the wire had left their accounts. The guy I was buying the car from said "I have $8 Million in Bank of America's Premier Services and I don't get service like that." When I call up any of the Austin branches, I can say "Hi! This is [my name]" and they know who it is based on my name and voice. They make a point of knowing their clients and they do it very well. The only downside I've seen is that they only have three branches in Austin - one at Bee Cave and 360, one in Round Rock, and one at 7th and Congress. I've been told they're planning to open one near the Domain in 2015. They are a national bank and have branches nationwide so you get the best of both worlds - exemplary local service with the convenience of branches nationally!
