Last weekend I had a watermelon lemonade, crawfish pasta for lunch, petted a few rescue pups, AND watched the band and a toddler interpretive dance to their music. You name it. PLUS for kids there was a petting zoo (I really wanted to hold one of those piglets) and some bounce houses/space walks and many face painters. You have just under 2 more hours to get out there...or wait until next year! Freret Street Festival happens but once a year and today is the day! It started at noon and only goes until 5. So get out here while you can!

Loved the dog adoption at the festival and all the bouncers for the kids! I do think that festivals should provide SOME seating for the expected crowds because not everyone brings a portable lawn chair with them or feels like carrying one all day. I have no problem with standing and walking all day but others are not so fortunate.

David, the owner, answered the phone on the first ring, took the time to speak with me and answer all questions about the banjo. He provided excellent info with a no pressure vibe. Once I ordered, the shipping was lightning fast, well packed, with real time tracking info provided via email. Ordered an accessory for another banjo a week or so later, and it was also shipped immediately with excellent email info. David is also a damn fine musician and used to work for Deering. He knows his stuff. Banjo Studio will henceforth be my first stop for all things banjo - thanks David!

Just wow! I was traveling to New Orleans from Georgia and did a search for banjos. A place called…read more"Banjo Studio" popped up and I couldn't wait to get there. I grabbed an Uber from my hotel and we ended up in a residential area! Confused, I called the studio where I was informed that it was by appointment only. But I could be shown his banjos if I could wait five minutes. It was well worth the wait. David Bandrowski was a very courteous and knowledgeable host as well as an accomplished banjo player. He had a vast supply of quality instruments. I played each one and was impressed with the tone that each banjo brought to my ears. His prices were spot on due to the lack of overhead from using his residence as his business. I highly recommend Banjo Studio and David if you are searching for a lifelong partner to enjoy making some awesome music together.
