History
Established in 1994.
Comedy Café is (and has always been) located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It has been established in 1994 by Victor Pareira. For ten years the comedy club was located at the Max Euweplein, untill current owner Bob Maclaren took over the company in 2014 and moved to the Rozengracht. Since 2016 Comedy Café has a brand new location at IJdock nearby Central Station: IJdok 89.
Comedy Café is home of diverse talents in stand-up comedy and serves as a try-out location for professionals such as the Alpaca's and famous Dutch comedians such as Javier Guzman, Arie Koomen, Daniel-Ryan Spaulding, Anuar and Jeffrey Spalburg.
Meet the Business Owner: Bob M.
Bob Maclaren (New Zealand, 23 april 1963) is stand-up comedian, producer en entrepeneur. He has been living in the Netherlands for over twenty years.
With his stand-up comedy he has been to many cities all over the world, such as: Montreal, London, Singapore, India, Melbourne, and last but not least: his current hometown Amsterdam. Since he took over Comedy Café Amsterdam, he has found a new way of embracing his passion of stand-up comedy by coaching new talents and professionals in his new home at IJdok 89.
