Walking in you face a strong odor somewhere in the line of an oily cheap Asian joint combined with a Kebab place. With the exception of one Asian cook everybody else looked more like a Kebab cook. However, the menu shows a broad variety of Japanese/Asian style food. I decided to go classic. Now the really disappointing part: The tuna sashimi had about the same amount of fat as lamb meat. Also, the way it was cut looked more like kebab than sashimi. Just take a look at the pictures I posted. The rest looked ok. But, it didn't taste too fresh. In fact, it didn't really have any flavor at all. Anyhow, it's the place to go if you prefer quantity over quality. Didn't give 1 star because I've been to one place that was worse.

Chao Asian Food and Sushi easily satisfied my craving. My wife, daughter, and I enjoyed maki rolls, tempura shrimp, and a shared sushi platter. I love temaki rolls, think of seaweed shaped into a cone, filled with rice, fish, cucumber, etc... Chao's version included avocado, which added a creamy texture and flavor, to accompany the fresh salmon. Plus, I requested that mine be prepared spicy, which they were happy to do. It was SO good, between the three of us, we pursed 1 normal and 3 spicy :-) This friendly restaurant is located very close to the cathedral and to the Ludwig museum. You'll find it overlooking the Rheine. I recommend making a visit to Chao to satisfy your sushi cravings.

However, the restaurant looks quite comfortable and inviting, especially when yo see all that deliciousness on display. The food is well prepared, fresh and has a good taste. I would give three stars if it was in D'dorf. But, compared to the other places around it is well worth four stars. I recommend giving it a shot. It's definitely not a waste of money, time and/or calories. :)))
