I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. I recently brought my severely damaged…read morewedding ring in for repair. My ring had been smashed, a diamond was chipped and out of the setting and it was very badly bent. I had taken it to a jeweler in Nashville, IN who refused to even attempt to fix it. When I walked in to the store, I was greeted by Tom. After inspecting the ring he was very honest and took the time to explain to me why the repair would be difficult but told me they would give it a try. It only took them one week to completely repair my ring and have it looking brand new. I was also very happy at the reasonable cost of the repair. Hoosier Jewelry will be the only place I take any repairs from now on. It will also be the first place I shop for anything new. The staff are so kind and knowledgeable and their pieces are beautiful. I wish I had more than 5 stars to give!!!

My Fiancé purchased my engagement ring here. He stopped on a whim and did not see anything he…read moreliked in the case, or at least nothing that made him say that is it! So the person helping him said "let me go see what I have in back". I am not sure how many rings he brought out, but my fiancé saw "the one". He was able to make payments on the ring and they seized it for him. Now I have been wearing it for about a month and a half and felt it needed to be just a bit bigger. My fiancé called and asked if I could come in to have it resized. They told him absolutely and remembered who he was. He was very impressed that they remembered. They told him I should have it back by Friday. When I arrived and said who I was, they were like ah your fiancé just called. They took it back and had it size by a quarter size right then and there, no waiting. They also cleaned it for me!! I cannot wait to do more business here. Thank you!

They said they do not replace chains, they send them off to be re-solulder. Fine. 10 days later I got the chain back. Wore it three more times and then it broke again. Late January. Took it back again, they sent it off ,got it back a second time. I actually did not end up wearing this piece very much in February. Maybe five times. March 13, chain broke AGAIN! Went to my local Kay jewelers store here in Columbus Indiana. The blond lady informed me that it was past its 90 days since he purchased the necklace on December 12th. I explained that he got it for Christmas. Of course they were going to purchase it before December 25. She was a little rude and said that there wasn't much she could do other than me purchase a brand-new chain. I explained that we have had several issues with this certain chain and I believe that it was made with faulty & weak links. She explained to me that he did not purchase the extended warranty so there was nothing she could do. I went to my car, and called the helpline which is their home office. 18005278029. They were extremely helpful. They ended up contacting the store directly and asked what could be done. The same woman that told me absolutely no, then told their call center that they could definitely take care of it. But they don't carry that model in the store anymore since it was a seasonal item, and would have to order it. That's perfectly fine, I just wanted to be taken care of. 10 days later I went to pick up the new necklace, and then the same woman opens the bag that got delivered to her store, IT WAS BROKE!! In the delivery bag !! Haha obviously they have faulty products and do not want to back up their products. Fifth time is a charm, they ordered me a new one I got it 10 days later. If it breaks again, I will buy a new chain for the pendant from another store!! Save yourself a lot of heart ache and trouble, don't go here!

Shortly after that the bottom of the band broke and we chose to go back and have it replaced with the same ring hoping it was simply a defective ring. Unfortunately not. The ring was just as bad as the first one. Not even a month after we got it the first stone fell out. At this point, I just wanted my money back so that I could go get her a more quality piece of jewelry. They had the nerve to refuse a refund because it was past their refund time frame. I was directed to a hotline to call. I called the hotline that led me to home office. I was told that there was no way they would refund the ring. Poor customer service at it's finest. If someone you have done business with for a long time comes to you with a simple request, you should honor it. It's not going to break your bank. It was $200. Shop here at your own risk. I won't make the mistake again!

The Totem Post is, quite simply, a Nashville, Indiana icon. It first opened in 1952 and was one of…read moreonly five shops in town. It is still in the family of founding owners Bill and Marielle Jockey as their daughter now owns it. Open year-round, The Totem Post offers authentic Native American jewelry, crafts, moccasins, knives, ethnic gifts, silver, and copper jewelry. The Totem Post folks are without fail friendly and I'm pleased to report that the shop itself is surprisingly wheelchair friendly (not always true in Nashville). A lot of the items at The Totem Post have a sense of spirituality to them and the times I've visited it has felt like a bit of a respite to even enter the establishment. The store has a bit of a fun origin story. The Jockeys were dancers on the SS. Uruguay who visited family in Indianapolis. During the visit, they were taken to Nashville, Indiana. Not long after, the leathercraft establishment went up for sale - The Jockeys moved forward and bought the place and quickly began establishing themselves among Native American and South American communities so they could carry high quality yet affordable items. While Nashville has certainly grown larger than those five shops from 1952, The Totem Post remains a local favorite and a tourist destination. I seldom, if ever, visit Nashville without a stop here.
