Review of Lenox Hill Radiology - Columbus Circle Imaging, New York I had a deeply disappointing experience at Lenox Hill Radiology - Columbus Imaging, and I feel compelled to share it in the hope of sparing others the same frustration. I arrived at the facility with a prescription from my doctor indicating two imaging tests. Prior to my appointment, I called the center to confirm both the exams and the scheduled time. During that call, I also asked--per my doctor's explicit instructions--to initially perform only one of the two exams, and proceed with the second only if necessary. Upon arrival, the front desk staff informed me they could only see one of the two exams in their system and told me I needed to contact my doctor. While I was waiting on hold with my doctor's office, I reviewed the written prescription and saw clearly that both tests were listed. This meant I had been given incorrect information by the staff, which led to an unnecessary delay. Eventually, I was directed to another office, where I encountered a very kind and helpful administrative assistant who facilitated a conversation with the supervisor, Njama Terry. Unfortunately, this interaction was both unproductive and unpleasant. From the outset, Ms. Terry adopted a dismissive and condescending tone. Rather than listening to my concerns or showing any willingness to accommodate my doctor's instructions, she simply stated that their protocol was to perform both tests at the same time, and that it was "my choice" if I wanted to deviate from that. I remained polite and tried to explain that, under medical advice, I preferred to proceed with just the first test for now, and only do the second if it proved necessary. Ms. Terry repeated the same line--about "protocol" and "incomplete results"--without offering any constructive solution or showing the slightest interest in patient-centered care. After reaffirming my decision to proceed with just one of the tests, I was informed (again, without much courtesy) that there would be a delay--adding to the hour I had already wasted due to the facility's poor organization. To make matters worse, I was later informed--via the same kind assistant--that doing the exams separately would incur an additional fee, though I was never told how much. This experience left me with the clear impression that this facility is disorganized and lacks the basic professionalism one would expect from a healthcare provider. Most concerning, however, was the attitude of Ms. Njama Terry, who, in my view, displayed a complete inability to interact respectfully and constructively with patients. I will be reporting this experience to my referring physician, and I strongly encourage others to seek a more professional and patient-focused radiology center. After visiting a different location of Lenox Hill radiology a couple days before, the one on 77th St. and i wrote a terrible review of it on yelp. (I needed an mri for my back). I was dreading my visit to this location, expecting similar terrible service somehow based on that previous experience. Iwas thrilled that this was not the case. It was professional and wonderful. Staff are front desk are very nice. Bathrooms were a mess, paper all over the floors. Changing rooms were a mess papers all over the floors and bags of gowns laying everywhere and no working lockers. Bring a bag for your clothes. It's uncomfortable enough going for a mammogram and this place does nothing to make the experience feel any better. read more

They should get one star but I'm giving them an extra star because the staff I encountered were nice for the most part. Where do I start? Unreasonable wait times. They ask you to check in 20 minutes earlier than your slot, and then expect you wait for hours. Another patient and I bonded in the waiting area over our shared misery. I really got to know this other lady's life story, that's how long we were made to wait. AND on top of that their payment systems were down, so I couldn't be charged for the extra AI based diagnostic report. Like seriously, could you not invoice me later? It was really something I just couldn't grasp. If you do decide to select this location (which is really a shame because I imagine it's really convenient for folks who work in midtown west, like me), plan to take a half day off, and bring some reading material, and your phone charger, or maybe even a sleep mask, because trust me, you'll need it! I plan to go back to the location in USQ, because I've never had a problem there, but in the future, i will not hesitate to take my business elsewhere. read more

The absolute worst place to get imaging done. Delays in service that no one warns ahead of time. Your appointment time is irrelevant. You end up waiting forever while sitting in a thin gown in a refrigerated room. On top of that, it takes forever to get results back. No one in charge, on hold for very long periods of time. Impossible to get through to supervisors. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

I recently had an MRI of my brain and opted for this location because they have an "open MRI". I previously had a claustrophobic panic attack while getting an MRI at another facility and wanted to prevent a repeat experience. The front desk staff were kind and efficient. I arrived quite early for my exam and they actually took me before my scheduled exam time. I really liked the gown they had me wear for the exam. It was extremely oversized and tied closed very easily. It was very comfortable and the extra fabric was much appreciated because they keep that place cold like a meat locker. I was able to store my clothing & purse in a locker with no issues. The phlebotomist that inserted my IV was a bit standoffish, but maybe he was just having a bad day. The technician that performed my MRI was very sweet and showed genuine concern for my anxiety. So an "open MRI" is a bit of a misnomer. It isn't fully open. They still inserted my head into a plastic cage like apparatus, but the rest of my body wasn't so tightly constricted. Even so twenty minutes felt like an eternity in that loud machine. Overall my experience at this facility was very good and I would return again in the future should the need arise. read more

I've been to this place twice and I am not a fan. First visit: came in as a walk in for a set of x-rays. Checked in and unfortunately had to wait in a crowded room full of people for two hours. They have plastic curtains that act as partitions, but no partition between you and the person in front of you. The lady who checked me in was rude as soon as I walked in. She later kept screaming for an "Ann(e)" and then got upset with me because I didn't answer -- that's not my name! Second visit: I didn't love the experience from the first visit, so I made an appointment. The guy at the call center was initially resistant to letting me make one ("we only take walk ins for x-ray"), until I insisted after telling him that I am not comfortable sitting in a crowded room for two hours during a pandemic. He relented and let me make an appointment. When I arrived, it took them 20 minutes to finish checking me in. The lady kept griping about how she didn't get the files that I uploaded immediately, until she finally got someone to help her -- the files were on her computer all along. There were so many unnecessary "issues," including them allegedly not having my insurance information, when I gave it to them last time. The radiology technicians both times were very nice and professional, which is the only saving grace of this place. The x rays took way less time than the time that it took to get me checked in. Would avoid if possible. read more

I received severe Gadolinium (MRI Contrast) Poisoning - also known as GDD - from this location (Columbus Circle NY), and am currently fighting for my life due to the side effects. After I read the disclosure in the packet I was given, I declined the contrast because I realized that it may have some very harmful effects. However once my name was called, the technician who was an Asian female with glasses, told me that I didn't have an option but to proceed with the MRI Contrast. She lied and said that the Gadolinium would leave my body in 24hrs, but I told her that a quick research showed me that it can stay in the human body for months to years. To which she just didn't respond. She told me that I had nothing to worry about and that they could not do an MRI without it which was a flat out lie, medical negligence, misleading, and deception. That night I began to feel extremely ill and the next day I was hospitalized with bronchospasm symptoms; shortness of breath, swelling / inflammation in the throat which felt like my throat was closing up, and tightness in the chest area which stunted me from taking a full breath (couldn't inhale). I was hospitalized again that same week. So, hospitalized TWICE in the same week of being administered Gadolinium - MRI Contrast. Doctors ran all kinds of test to find what was wrong as it was obvious something was really wrong. Towards the end of that week the Gadolinium started causing me skin pinching all over my head down to my feet, burning, disorientation, and exhaustion with the feeling of a blockage in my throat still there. After taking a heavy metals test it was revealed high levels of Gadolinium still in my body, and that's what was causing extreme disruption to my nervous system, and body. I have since spoken with so many people online and watched / read testimonies of how MRI Contrast specifically the Gad strain has damaged so many lives with the nasty, complex, long-lasting side effects it can have. The severity of it is not discussed in the disclosure given by Lenox Hill nor ANY radiology / medical provider. The fact that I said no and was then coerced is the main issue here, along with the technician being callous about what could happen. This could've and would've all been avoided. I wouldn't trust the MRI Imaging staff at this location. The fact that there are so many people sharing their stories all over the news and social media, from celebrities to everyday people with being jabbed with Gadolinium Disposition Disease means that Lenox Hill Radiology and other Imaging services HAVE to know the risks and what it can do. Yet they still push people to get it. read more

I had been going here for a few years with no issues, it is a very convenient location. However, I will be switching radiology care to Mount Sinai now. It is an easy decision since my specialist is with Mt. Sinai but, additionally, I had some minor complications from a stereotactic biopsy and the attitude of the technician who was helping with the stereotactic is something I realize I don't want to interact with again. I had a fair amount of bleeding after the biopsy and while I understood this was a possibility, when the tech began aggressively compressing the incision site with what felt like just her thumb and I said it was painful, she called in a nurse who she said had a reputation for being more 'gentle' (the tech's words, as if bedside manner is a luxury). The nurse and the second technician, who had been tasked with giving me a post-procedure mammo and quickly saw that I couldn't tolerate it due to the pain, went above and beyond to help me - including helping wrap me (any movement hurt like hell) and dress me when I was in too much pain to do it. When I did finally return a week later for the post-procedure mammo to confirm location of the clip, I had the same technician who had performed the stereotactic, and when I couldn't contain my distress at the pain of having my injured breast compressed in the plate she snapped at me that she was not going to be able to do the mammo because I was 'barely in' the compression plates. I just don't need this in my life if I can avoid it. I may have to have another stereotactic, in addition to having surgery scheduled next month to remove these 'suspicious' sites entirely, and the idea of ending up with that same tech is enough to make me switch practices. read more

They used to be so efficient but no more :( I sat for 45 minutes ( with tailbone problems ) and was then told it would be another hour. I finally got in ; the tech did a no-contrast and then contrast MRI. The report was NEVER sent to the doctor !!! The dr's office called me to call Lenox Hill ; they said it takes 3-5 days to get a report. I have never heard anything so ridiculous !!! They also said that the dr,'s office needs to call them to request a report " stat ". The dr. wanted me to go to Mt. Sinai radiology but Lenox Hill was faster for an appt. I will never go there again and advise anyone else to avoid them as well. read more

Wow! My mammography took all of 20 mins. That includes me taking my top and bra off and fiddling with the confusing ties on the robe. But that could be because my appointment was really late (7pm) and the joint was completely empty. The waiting room is quite large, large enough for two televisions, so I imagine that the place gets very busy during the day. If you can go late, it's worth it. I didn't realize that my last mammogram was back in 2013. Yikes. Once you start approaching 50 it's crucial to get a series of baseline mammos, especially if you have dense breasts or a history of breast cancer in your family. I was going to say "Go get your boobies smashed!" but this was more like a gentle mushing this time. read more

It gets worse. I received my Explanation of Benefits from my insurance company--and sure enough, the amount Columbus Circle Imaging made me pay up front is more than what I should have been charged. Scam! But the real shocker is the CPT code listed on my EOB. Columbus Circle Imaging/Lenox Hill Radiology DID THE WRONG PROCEDURE ON ME! The CPT code does not match the one on the referral they had from my doctor. (The receipt they gave me at the front desk after I paid did not list any CPT code, just a technical description of the procedure with half the wording cut off.) Somehow the front desk managed to input a CPT code that was one digit off and resulted in me getting a less complete exam than my doctor ordered. This is malpractice. read more

They make me less nerve for my text exams. They said to me lot of jokes :) When I need another exam, I chose this location. Lenox Hill Radiology billed the wrong body part and sent me a statement 6 months later for thousands of dollars. I called the billing team and they said they would send it to a manager, I asked them to have the manager call or email me when the bill had been correctly updated. They said they would not do that. I had Cigna on the line assisting me and they confirmed they had pre-authorized the MRI. I just received a bill in the mail and it's still wrong. I am beyond disgusted. read more

High level of discrimination based on language barrier, happening in this location. On 1/28/2022 my mother was denied a translator or anyone that could help her when she had a health related question. This receptionist told her that nobody speaks Spanish and that they couldn't offer her a translator when this is required by law. Un alto nivel de discriminacion en este lugar. I guess I got lucky because I had a great experience. I came in for a chest x-ray and walked right in without an appointment about 45 minutes before their walk in cut off time. I was helped as soon as I entered and they were fast and friendly. I only had to wait maybe 5 minutes max before I was called in. They took me to a changing room and was done in 10 minutes. I guess the experience would've been different had I come in when they were busy, but I'm happy with my experience. (Tip: If you're coming in for an X-ray, it's on LL) read more

The facility is clean and the workers are friendly. Some workers definitely care more than others. Where they get two stars is in their billing practices! They will not send bills to the health insurance company and consistently bill you directly even when you speak to them. Then they have a gall to send you to collections. I've never seen anything like it really. I'm taken back by their billing practices for being such a large business. I believe that hope patience are not paying attention to the EOBs and will pay their huge bills but luckily for me I have great Insurance so I know the large bills they were sending me were very wrong. If you can avoid them do for this reason they should not be prying on their patience to pay the full bill when they have Insurance and collect your insurance information. Shame on them. read more

I am absolutely horrified by the treatment I have received from the Columbus Circle Imaging Center. I have been waiting over 7 days to find out if I have *breast cancer* and the radiologist cannot be bothered to read my results despite my pathology being in since Friday. It was a long weekend, so I understand a temporary delay. Spoke to a manager in the call center who said my results would be in no later than EOD as the radiologist just had to write a report. Now I'm being told I likely won't receive the results till Thursday because the radiologist (Dr. Tobin) was on vacation (I'm sorry, do you only have one doctor in your entire facility?!) Why should it take an extra three days for the radiologist to write an addendum. If you can't get your job done efficiently and communicate effectively when people are desperately waiting on the most important news of their lives then you should not be doing it at all. Not only will I be filing a complaint with the CDC, I will never use any Lenox Hill facility again and I strongly encourage other women to do the same. read more

Absolute trash! So I get there, filled out the forms, and ready to get my procedures done when I keep overhearing the front desk staff talking about my situation. I go upfront to tell them I can hear them and to answer their questions. I have a family hx of breast cancer and I work in radiology. I have a referral from a doctor to get a mammogram and breast ultrasound done. I got an ultrasound done (at another location) before with no problems. I even overheard them say someone just left so I'm assuming that the person that was supposed to do one of my procedures just left. I ended up cancelling my appointments once they told me I'm too young to get a mammogram. My aunt was diagnosed when she was 30. I'm 32. read more

First time getting a breast core biopsy taken (hopefully the last). Had a pleasant experience from the nurse (Luisa) who explained with detail what I'm going to expect with the procedure, with the Radiologist Lauren who reassured me and explained what I'm seeing, to the Dr. Michele Licht who was so gentle and informative, and to the sweetest Dr. Mobrie who did my mammogram afterwards. I definitely recommend this please. There may be a bit of a wait despite having an appointment but it's expected with all doctors appointments. read more

Expect your appointment to start at least 45 minutes late and then budget at least two hours at their office. BAD, 2 BAD experience. They were overbooked and under poor management. It was very slow and the manager always have excuse. You needed to ask otherwise they will put everyone before you turn. They don't follow the schedule and don't follow the check in sequence. Please do double check with them every few minutes otherwise they will always forget you. The first time they forgot me until the technician left already. 1 receptions checked me in @2:30 and told me to wait, then half an hour later the other lady got my info and said she would ask and come back. Then 2 hours past that I saw the lady is leaving???!!! I questioned her but she said she didn't remember and left. The manager came and asked me to come back the other day because the technician has left. The 2nd time, I arrived on time, had been waiting inside and changed clothes for 3+ hours and then I was told to come back the other day because one of the Mamo technician has left. Excuse me???the same excuse again. But I asked other people to perform. They will try to make to do Biopsy any way. Went in for a 3:50 appt. Was finally given MRI at 5:30. The staff are very friendly and one mentioned something to me about magnet problems but right before I was finally taken in for MRI, a nice woman was taken in before me, on time for her appt. Lucky her! I went here because of the opportunity to get an MRI the same day I called to schedule. Should have known better. The techs are all well meaning. Terrible!! I had an appointment for a bone density scan. Three days before my appointment I got both a text and an email asking me to confirm the appointment and also to click on a link to fill out a form with various personal and health questions. The idea is obviously to check in virtually and skip waiting time in the reception area. I filled out the form and submitted it, only to receive the same message again the next day, and the next, multiple times. When I went to may appointment I found a very crowded waiting room with every single seat occupied at close range. No social distancing, no covid protection measures whatsoever. I had to fill out the same questionare again, on paper, and then wait 35 minutes in this overcrowded room to be seen. Meanwhile at the other end of the room is a horseshoe shaped reception area where 5 or 6 receptionists sit all day long shoulder to shoulder, with no dividers or distancing from each other. When I finally got to see the (very nice) radiology technician he started asking me again about my height, weight, etc - the very same things I had already filled out online. When I mentioned this to him, he just said, "but we don't have this information here". WTF!!! This was a terrible experience and probably the most dangerous place I have been in since the pandemic started. read more

There were so many women! They charge you before your examination so if you need to leave, do so at your own risk! The wait time is a 2 hours min! This place is the same as West Side Radiology at 1790 Broadway. I had a very bad experience getting a PET/CT scan done here yesterday. My major complaint was that the place was extremely messy and dirty. There are a few front rooms that are neat, but the PET area is extremely grungy, with stacks of paperwork, moldering newspapers, and old abandoned medical equipment lying in piles. The floors and walls are dirty. I particularly noticed the light switches had smears of dirt on them, which made me think that the employees were not washing their hands. My examining room had dirty towels lying on the stretcher, which was itself covered with a stained and hair-covered sheet. The "recovery" room has a big leather armchair in it where all patients sit and is not covered or looked to be cleaned, ever. Finally, when I went to actually do the test they tried to cover me with a blanket that they had used on the previous patient (who had been coughing the entire time!). Secondly, I felt that the nurse was not very professional. For example, after ham-handedly putting the IV in my arm, he tested my blood sugar by squeezing some blood onto a paper towel in my lap and then poking the blood stain with a OneTouch meter. An hour later, before doing the test, he asked me to remove my bra, which I understood was to remove any metal, but removing it meant taking off all my layers - very uncomfortable with the IV taped to my arm since the needle kept getting snagged. This is obviously a minor inconvenience, but it speaks to a lack of planning, etc. read more

I couldn't get a X-ray cause they called out. It's the only place listed downtown that does Saturdays and have multiple locations all over the city. Unfortunately I work everyday in canal area and I only have free time on weekends for my x ray. sign up no X-ray. I ask why ? They called out. What does someone calling out have to do with the services advertised and the whole business is based on doing medical images. I'm getting all these text about no appointment needed walks allowed it's shouldn't rely on one person anyone could call out. If this is how the business is being handle I have no intentions of ever come to any location in the future. There multiple places to get this done I never question a referral from my doctor but now i will cause I don't need this added stress of ppl dependent medical process if the business was set up right it wouldn't matter who calls out the show much go on. Ppl depend on you and someone calls out is some mom and pop business answer. I don't need to add more stress in my life im not getting a X-ray cause im bored at home or like picture im trying to get better and im wasting my day typing this I hope this helps someone. Avoid if you could. 2 weeks after breast biopsy, my breast still hurts. The doctor is a DO, note not a MD, and has poor bed side manner. I tolerated the pain when she injected the needle with anesthesia but when she started the process to remove the tissue it was UNBEARABLE. And this happened three times. The place feels more like a busy assembly line than a radiologist office. There is definitely not enough room to separate the patients according to COVID-19 best practices. I do not think they clean the various adapters used for mammogram between use, either. The receptionists are also very disgruntled. They feel more like angry collection agents !!!! The nurse and ultrasound technician was nice, though. Regardless, NYU Laura Perlmutter Center is far more professional. read more
