I really cannot believe how painful this process has been. My father was cremated 33 years ago and…read moreburied in a plot at this cemetery when it was privately owned. Now that my mother has passed it has become a big legal issue to bury my parents together as was always their wishes. Now we have lawyers involved and she still is no closer to being interred with my father and the costs are unreal to say the least... We have had other issues through the years, like destruction of the stone and it having been replaced numerous times due to yard maintenance issues of running over the stone with the mower. There was the year our vase was stolen and the proper one was never returned. I am so upset that this is not user friendly but has become a corporate money making business with no compassion. :'(

It's my first review on something that is last place that people willingly want to visit. But, it's…read morea necessity in life. Southland Memorial Gardens has handles multiple family members of mines burial and funeral services. Actually as early as 1974 and as recent as my father on 11/8/15 and mother 9/22/16. I am having a pretty big surgery 2/11/19. I went this week to get my plots and to put the final touches on some final planning. Natasha helped me when my parents passed. I was completely shut down as most people could expect when you lose your parents tragically. She was able to help me handle some final arrangements, but most of all, she was more than just compassionate. She is gifted in knowing what to say when you can speak. She is able to help you express your wishes with a dignity that is hard to explain. She helped me design my mothers headstone. She was able to tell that I wasn't comfortable with the standard "Beloved, Wife, Mother and Grandmother". Those words did not describe my mother. Because she was my Mama. It didn't describe my sons grandmother, because she was their Maw Maw. She loved roses and butterflies. I sat their basically in a shell and these things were going on in my head and I had no way to express them, other than, "that's not her". I must have mumbled it. Natasha immediately and kindly said, let's make it her. So we talked, she would write things down, and before long she had designed the perfect headstone. The one that was in my mind, that I. Couldn't articulate. She is very intuitive to the needs of the family that comes in. No matter what it takes, when you leave, you feel like she was a part of your family. On the hardest day of your life , when the hardest decisions has to be made, she some how sees right into your heart and is able to articulate in design and words your thoughts. Again, as I am working on my final arrangements to keep my children and husband from having to sit in that chair and guess at what I may want. Instead I have a booklet that Southland offers that spells every thing out. Natasha is a young woman with an old soul. She has a very nurturing and spiritual quality about her that sets you immediately at ease. I am an Estate Planner, I do Wills and Power of Attorneys and Health Care POAs to prepare family for the end of life wishes and expectations. But, Natasha and Southland, they take it to a whole new level with the first moments you meet her and their team to the last moment that I'm sure usually ends with a heart felt hug and a reminder that you're not alone. I don't know how she does it daily. See death, deal with grieving families, but she does and she makes certain that YOU and what YOU need are her priority. She is a calming spirit in what is a storm of emotional waves. She is glue when you feel all else has fallen apart. She helps to give you and your family the closure you need to say goodbye in a dignified way. She is a gentle spirit that God has truly touched with a gift of giving families comfort and the calm you need in knowing your family member is still being cared for. More importantly, that you're not alone.
