By far the worst haircut I've ever gotten. To start, I wasn't even greeted with a "hello" or "how are you" when I walked in the door. The entire time I was being talked down on and spoken to in a very condescending manner because of my previous hair history. I went in for a simple trim. I asked for my mullet to be cleaned up a little, and instead I was berated by the woman cutting my hair for the fact that I have bleached it in the past. I have never had my hair history questioned in such a rude way when I'm only going in for a cut. I felt like I was being treated rough physically as well, and overall, I did not leave with what I asked for. At the end of the cut, the barber held up the mirror and told me that she "went ahead and cut off all the damage in the back." Mind you, my hair is not *that* damaged, but of course there is some because I've had more exotic colors in the past. I had a middle part & wanted to keep it... asked for the barber to cut the front 1 inch. I think I repeated that at least 3 times. "Cut it shorter one inch please, I want to keep a middle part." He cut it 3 inches and fucked up my sides. When I said it was way too short for a middle part he said I can regrow it. Now I have to wait 4 months before I can regrow my hair to the length I like it as and have to spend money to get this shit fixed. Would not recommend. read more

I had a lady cut my hair and she did not listen to anything I asked except taking a #2 and shaving the back and side of my head. She f'd me up and ruined my day. She kept saying she knew what was right and made me look like a troll doll ( I have longer hair). Now I need to get this fixed at another barber . I paid $25 and to top it off she says "no tip?" after I constantly expressed my disagreement and displeasure during the cut. Better off going to a professional barber not to a pet cutter. Thought 4 stars was worth a shot... NEVER AGAIN. Asked to leave the top and fade the sides for an undercut look. Disregarded what I asked for and started cutting he was extremely fast I never had a haircut for 6 min. when I questioned he just shook his head and did his own thing. 4 months of growing out down the drain. Dont go here unless you want the 7th grader buzzed hair, its the only thing they know how to do. In addition, the so called "barber" Valera asked me for tips and when I did not give it he showed me the mid finger. The person on the first chair, I think he is the owner was not there at that time. I feel sorry for the shop owner that he has such employees killing his business. I would suggest the owner to train Valera or let him go. Otherwise do not expect many repeated customers. read more

I average 1.5 haircuts/skin fades a week for the last 15 years and lived across the US and around the world; the talent you find in this establishment is world class. I've been a US Marine for 8 years now, and it's my job to find imperfections. I usually get hooked up by Sergei or Reuben. Their attention to detail is impeccable. I'm Asian so my hair is soft and straight (nightmare for barbers), which makes fades very challenging. While they cut, they'll examine your head at different angles and lightening to ensure perfection. VERY FEW barbers take that much pride in their work. The shop is well kept in comparison to the other shops in the area. And if you do happen to wait, they have a movie playing through their chromecast throughout the day. I love this place. I have been coming here for about 2 years. The price for me is a little steep for beard and haircut (28+tip+credit card fee=$35- $37) but it's a quality establishment. You get what you pay for. I am in a wheelchair and my barber Sergei accommodates me fully. He moves their heavy chairs around so that I can get to his booth. He is always kind and respectful. An overall very nice lad. Waiting time is very short for me. Usually 10-15 minutes max. They have a TV which helps with the wait , if any. Its a very professional environment unlike other barber shops in the area. I travel from the east side. It's a little out of my way but it's more than worth it! All in all! Thanks to my man Sergei, I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. I recently had my haircut done by Reuben. He is really good at his job and pays attention to detail. A perfectionist with a straight razor. Went here today because I needed a haircut quick and was far away from my usual barber. I got one of the worst haircuts of my life. The guy in third chair was rough and grumpy. It felt like he was slamming the clippers against my neck. He was so careless when using a razor that he made me bleed on my neck, which has never happened. He never apologized but instead put something on it which made it burn like hell. Again, he said nothing. He also had terrible body odor which was a pain to sit through. I asked for a 3 on the sides with scissors on top. I practically got a buzz cut it was so short. All this for $19.75. Horrible. I've been coming here around some time since it opened - 3, maybe 4 years now? I came here because my hair was butchered at a nearby salon. My hair was fixed up promptly, and I've been coming here ever since. I can give the vaguest idea of what I want my hair to be like and always end up satisfied (even if I may get nervous each time mid haircut when the barber is both cutting my hair, watching TV, and talking to me, but clearly he's a pro - I have never been unsatisfied). I can't think of a reason that this place shouldn't have 5 stars. I lived in Montreal for a 8 months, and I waited to come back to NYC to get my hair cut. It's a no frills, reliable, and well priced haircut here. Walked in to find one of the "barbers" laying back in a chair watching videos on his phone. When I politely asked for a cut, he seemed upset to have to get up and attend to me. He then proceeded to give me the worst haircut of my life (over the course of about 10 minutes) before charging $18. Came in today for just a trim. My hair is long on the top and short on the sides, kind of like a pomp. Told the guy I just need a little trim about a 3 on the sides and just a cm off the top. As he buzzed the side of my hair he went into the top about an inch making a dent in the long portion of my hair on the right side. He then tried to cover up his mistake by quickly chopping an inch off the top of my hair and hastily thinning my hair with thinning scissors without asking me. He just kept chopping. When he was done I pushed my hair back to try to pomp it and he was like "no no no you put it to the side okay" After leaving and examining my hair cut there is a giant dent on the side into the long portion and the top went from 2.5 inches to a thinned out 1 inch that looks uber thinned out. My friends reactions have ranged from "the front looks okay but the side is all wonky" to "yeah it's bad to be honest, your gonna have to just wait it out" to "I wasn't gonna say anything but what happened?" read more

I came in here expecting just a simple haircut, trimming down the sides and leaving the top longer. Everything was fine until my barber started to cut the top. I told him that I usually keep my hair up top longer but he told me "Don't worry, don't worry. Just a little bit" But a little bit became a lot more and by then it was too late. I gave him a tip but he made a snarky-looking face as if that wasn't enough, and I gave him an extra dollar and he immediately perked up. And for what was the tip toward then? Got in, and asked for an all over buzz cut. The dude didn't ask anymore questions except, "How short?" I told him. He took the buzzer, did a few passes, and banged it out in 20 minutes. The last ten minutes were him Perfecting the edges to make sure everything looked sharp and clean. He completed the job with a razor and warm shaving cream. All said came to $18. I had to put it on my credit card, so it came to $19.75 instead of $18. Whatever. I'm not bothered about a bit extra for the convenience of putting it on a card. Most places don't even /take/ a card.
