Luckily a stylist gave me the name of this salon and told me I may have luck here. She was right. I was able to set up an appointment immediately for the day I wanted. This salon is appointment only and only one customer in the shop at a time due to Covid. I was a little skeptical at first about booking with this salon because it is new (just opened in June) and has no reviews. However, all my fears were eased once I met the owner and she started working on my hair. She is so knowledgeable about natural hair and that was refreshing because she talked me through every step of my session. She asked me questions about how I typically maintain my hair, what styles I wear, how frequently I wash my hair. She gave me suggestions about how to better manage my hair and products to use in my hair. She was so incredibly gentle with my hair through the wash and blow dry process. I usually start to cringe during the detangling process because previous hair stylists have been overly rough with my type 4c hair. However she knew exactly how to work with my hair and ensure a smooth session. Once my hair was fully blown out, she informed me that I had a lot of split ends that needed to be trimmed. She gave me a mirror and let me see exactly what she was taking off. We ended up cutting about 1-2 inches, which was more than what I had initially anticipated but I am all about healthy hair over length. She told me to continue coming in for more frequent trims (every 8 weeks or so) and I will get my hair to waist length in no time. After the trim, she did two strand twists. They look great and I can't wait to take them out in a few more weeks and rock my twist out. I will definitely coming back to this salon for my trims and whenever I decide to blow out my hair again.

Straight,…read moreblunt cut, originally chin level when I lopped off a ponytail for one of those donation sites, it had grown out to my shoulders and because my hair has a lot of natural body and some wave and curl to it, I was getting a very triangular shape. I had no idea what to do with it, other than grow it out again, but I was tired of that cycle, too, since I've done it several times in the past decade. It's also going pretty grey in spots and I'm not sure another 'tail would work for those wig organizations because of that. I needed someone to just make a decision about my hair and cut it. I didn't care what the results were, what the style was, anything at all. I just needed something different. My husband half-jokingly suggested I take his clippers, buy some gel and go for the Annie Lennox look and I was actually OK with that. Christina took on the challenge. She chose a layered look that is both blowdryer and product-optional (YAY!). It's fabulous, super easy to take care of and suits me well! I'm happy to call you after I wake up at 9pm or before I wind down to go to sleep before 8am if you'd like, but out of consideration, I avoided calling you during inconvenient times. I've never cancelled an appointment that I can recall, so I would be interested in the date that I cancelled. If I did, which I find hard to believe, it was definitely with more than reasonable notice. It's comparing apples to oranges, though. I'm sure you could easily fill the spot I cancelled. I can't call and make another appointment with a few hours notice. I'm sorry that those things happened but ultimately, I was unable to get my hair done over many months with your salon. It would have been stellar customer service to try to accomodate me after cancelling on me twice without me having to wait another two months (which would have been a total of four months since my original appointment) or at least offered me some compensation before I wrote a review. The fact that you didn't isn't necessarily a terrible thing, I just have no incentive to make an appointment when I have zero confidence it will actually be kept.
