SUMMARY: - Overall great university - Every university is not perfect - They take great measures to keep students safe from COVID-19 - Everyone has different experiences - There are some real gems for the professors. I.e. Professor Snyder (math). - The review regarding Tim isn't telling the full story. In short, Tim's class grades are 100% test based & allowing someone to take a test before or after the test date would give either them or their friends an unfair advantage if that info was leaked- even with a modified test. - Don't expect your credits to transfer to this college or most others even if they said it would before you transferred. - If you have issues in the housing dorms (i.e. Grand Mesa) don't bother reporting it to staff because someone can own several knives (including a switchblade), own a bow & 2 swords, use drugs & drink wine underage, be violent and aggressive, have a pet ferret in the dorms, & threaten to cause someone physical harm. - but hey, they're well liked so it's okay. They can get away with everything after literally 7 people report them between 2 separate incidents. Furthermore, staff TOLD THEM who reported them after assuring us we'd remain anonymous. read more

Don't bother coming her. As an ulumni of this school, they charge too much, don't have enough room on campus as well as parking lots. (They took in too many freshmen last year that they basically kicked sophomores and on up out of the dorms). Lots of homeless around the area that I was stalked by one one campus. And there are a lots of unprofessionalism when it comes to certain professors. I would suggest going to a cheaper university that's double the worth. read more

My daughter ended up here after being unhappy at another university. It has been a great experience for her. Modern campus, clean, nice buildings. She is a good student who also had to apply to the BSN program a couple times--but it has been outstanding for her since starting. Small classes, interested and supportive professors who are devoted to her success. Would definitely recommend. read more

If I could rate no stars I would. I've gone to this school 2 times. Both times I felt incredibly lost in figuring out the MAVzone as NO ONE would assist me with figuring it out. This platform is how homework is turned in. I missed deadlines because of this, and when asking staff for help they literally said "You can find this on your MAVzone." And when I said I need help navigating I was met with strange looks and people passing the buck. Not a SINGLE PERSON WHO WORKED THERE would sit down and help me. I missed out on an amazing opportunity because of lazy shitty human responses. The professors would rather pass students who need a little extra help to "A class more suited for you," than HELP them! It's a miserable, frustrating time for anyone who isn't doe eyed and fresh to the college world. Older students are ignored and treated poorly while no one seems to think this is wrong!? I would HIGHLY recommend to students over 25 who only want education to seek it elswhere. read more

What can I say about a university that welcomes retirees. The Golden Scholar program encourages people to go back to school at a low price and low pressure (you audit courses, so no required tests or homework). I have taken several classes there - great professors every time. They really care about their students and bend over backwards to be sure learning happens. I am a huge fan of the regular university, the WCCC (more the certificate side of the school) and the CEC (read "adult education classes") and the newly formed New Dimensions (an all in one fee program of classes on a wide variety of subjects). read more

We do not recommend the Nursing program (BSN). Our Dean's List daughter who taught as a Teacher Assistant in a skilled science class, volunteered at St Mary's Hospital, and meet all other requirements for BSN failed to be even interviewed twice. Many great teachers but Department of Health Sciences and responsible counselor the worst. Heartbroken by this unjustified cold shoulder treatment with no feedback she was quickly accepted in another state run nursing program. read more

Moving in was a bit crazy as many lots were still being re-paved. Once parked and on campus, it was easy to find what you needed and the campus staff were all friendly and helpful! The CMU bookstore offers good rates as does the TextBooks To Go store across the street from the university (12th and Glenwood). Their website is www.textbookbrokers.com. If you can, it's worth the small extra fee to move in a day early. Extra credit = there's a Starbucks next to the University Center Help Desk!! read more

When it comes to a university that provides a fantastic education and is located in a prime area, CMU cannot be beat. I am a junior and I have never once regretted my decision to come to Mesa. The professors genuinely care about you and want to see you succeed. Our campus is constantly improving and changing which is really exciting. Everything is state of the art here. Anyone who tells you Grand junction is boring has never stepped outside. There's so much outdoor fun to be had and it's so close. The monument provides awesome hiking trails and that's just one of the many adventures you'll find. read more

Worst school on the planet. Went for a whole 2 months after I graduated and they are continuing to burn me for 1000s of dollars I shouldn't owe for their failure to inform students that all payments and loans go through immediately. If you don't have it tough luck you are screwed. Not to mention they allow very illegal activities and play dumb. Hope this helps :) read more

This university needs to rein in their power hungry professors. My daughter is a junior with a 3.6 gpa at this school. To say that she is very driven is an understatement. She has a professor, who all I can assume is pissed at the world because he can only teach, since he apparently lacks the skill level to do research. In his syllabus, he says that they "possibly" have a test on the day that we (her family) needs to be at an out of state wedding for her cousin. She contacted the professor 1 1/2 months ahead of time to ask if she could take the test the day before and he refuses to let her. This is making it so she cannot attend her cousin's wedding. The kicker is, he says that once they get within a class of two of the test date, that date could change!!!! So the class could possibly take it on Wednesday which is what she is asking for or it could be on Monday which would also work because she would be back. Either way then, we would be stuck paying an exorbitant amount of money for a ticket a day or two ahead of the flight because this "professor" wants to exert his only power!!! This review is specifically for the head of the mental health within the school, Bob Lang. One star is too many for him. He should not be dealing with people with any mental illness. Don't let his "thirty years of experience" fool you. This man is insensitive, a liar, and aims to remove any student who may have have a mental illness. He refuses to cooperate with the assistance of therapy animals and will lie about contacting your therapist straight to your face. read more
