Yes, the shop is dated, but I like it. It's a throwback classic. Liked my haircut. Yes they still clean up your neck and around tor ears with a straight edge razor and shaving cream. Would like to help out a vet and keep this landmark going for another 40 years.

Once he finished, which was in less than 15 mins, I attempted to pay by debit card on square, as the sign on the door reads- only to learn that *he* doesn't accept square. Before heading to the gas station ATM, I asked about the cost, which was, according to my husband, 17 bucks- the barber told me 20...and that's what he charged me to CLEAN up my TWO yr old's Mohawk - a cut he's been rocking for 8 months now. I can't understand how cutting the sides lower and trimming the top can cost the same as if he shaped the entire head. Never again, from this dude, who by the way wasn't the friendliest, not even with my son. And the slim guy next to him is more precise... DISHONEST, and OVER PRICED. I try so hard to support Black owned businesses, but yet again... Update: I see that Tye had his "friend" write a review, referencing mine...how incredibly unprofessional. *IF* he, or she read (or can read), you'd see that he charged me $20 for a $17 mohawk that was in fact just a SHAPE UP. Word to the wise Tye, address my review yourself, don't get your "peeps" to comment on *my* experience. Is this a beauty salon, or a barber shop? How childish and unprofessional... again, further proof of why you should go to the slim guy, if you must...

I was driving home from work 2 days ago and decided I wanted to cut all my hair off. I was passing…read morethis barbershop so I went in. There were 2 barbers there. 1 had a client and the other was sitting there. She asked what I wanted and I said to cut all my hair off low with no shape up. She looked shocked and said she's never had a woman come in and say that. I should've walked out at that point since plenty of women do "the big chop". She went and talked to someone then said I could get in her chair. She started by cutting my hair with scissors saying that it was so thick she needed to cut it down first. This was not my first time cutting my hair all off so this was red flag number 2. I asked how long she had been cutting hair and she didn't really answer. She said it was a teaching shop and that she used to be a cop. She retired and now she was starting a new career Long story short, it took her an hour and a half to cut my hair which is ridiculous. I was tired after a 12 hour shift and there's no reason what I asked for should've taken that long. She cut a little bit at a time alternatingbetweenscissors and the clippers. She used huge scissors by my ears and it was terrifying. She cut my hair uneven and on one side she left my sideburn and straight cut it on the other side. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the cut was only $20 and the barber was very nice.

When I went to get my haircut it was not busy and I was greeted by very loud obnoxious RAP music and employees talking and using very foul language laced with obscenities. Also $30 for a haircut is getting to be outrageous.

Ok so I'll start with two things, one this isn't my usual barbershop and secondly the initial…read moreservice was helpful since they were able to take me as a walk-in which is a lot tougher to find post-covid with needing to make an appointment at most shops. This is a smaller shop within a shopping center and there was only one other customer inside when I got in since I tried to catch them as they opened given the fact I didn't have an appointment. So there's a barber with a client on the front chair closest to the entrance and another barber at the second chair and so I'm directed to him. He asks me what I want I explain low fade around the temples and back and take a bit of the top but keep it even and dark (I felt like that was pretty clear) and for further clarity because I know this isn't my usual shop I show him a photo of what I just explained. He nods and says "got it" as if he can pull it off so all good. Fast forward to what I actually received which was an uneven high fade and he took way more off the top than I indicated so basically looked nothing like the photo in addition to affecting my natural wave pattern. The only saving grace is that he managed to do a fairly decent edge up despite making me essentially bald by time he tried to even out the sides of the fade. I certainly won't be returning here but my suggestion would be that if you require anything more intricate than a buzzcut or line up you may want to avoid the barber in the chair closest to the tv or possibly consider alternative shop options.
