I went to the Colon Care Center for ear candling today and left feeling extremely sick and frustrated. I told the woman who owns the center that my sinuses are really bad right now and my ears are constantly overfilled with wax so I wanted to try ear candling.
I showed up for my 2pm apt and we didn't even start the ear candling until around 2:25-2:30. She was still with a patient when I arrived and left to see him during our appointment multiple times. After we were finished with the ear candling she recommended I try a negative ion detox foot bath because she said it would help with my sinuses. I had some extra time and really would try anything if it could possibly help clear up my sinus issues.
She sits me in her waiting room and has me put my feet in a little tub that's connected to a battery. I thought it was going to be an epsom salt bath or something similar, but it was nothing of the sorts. It looked like she was connecting a car battery to my foot tub which made me sort of nervous. She briefly (and poorly) explained what it did and then handed me a pamphlet. Then she had me pay and told me to get out of the tub in 40 min, and gave me some paper towels and water to clean my feet at the end. Then she left to go treat another patient while I sat in her waiting room feeling a little uncomfortable and nervous.
10 or 15 minutes go by and I start feeling really weak and drowsy. Then nauseous, almost drunk like and my tongue felt numb. I felt like I may be sick at any moment, but continued thinking maybe this was a side effect that will go away when I'm done. I am feeling extremely sick at this point and my eyes feel blurry and crosseyed as the water turns a muddy brown color. I decide to take my feet out early and leave.
I am writing this review because I am extremely upset with the lack of information, care and assistance that was given to me at the colon care center. We started 20-30 minutes later than my original appointment time, she tried to give me a stack of her business cards to pass out for her, and left me without any second thought about how this treatment would make me feel. She did not ask me about any past treatments/surgeries/etc. or what I may have eaten/drank that day, and how this treatment may affect my body adversely.
She did not check on me once. And I STILL feel sick, crosseyed and weak over 2 hours later.
She was not knowledgeable about the treatment she gave me, and thought that a pamphlet would suffice as enough information to give to me. She was rushing through my treatment and seemed very scatterbrained and hurried.
I am 24 and in good health so I can bounce back pretty quickly, but I saw mostly elderly patients going to her center. My first thoughts are how would one of them react to this treatment and lack of assistance. I am appalled to think of what could have happened had it been someone else in my position.
I am a very laid back person and usually will not make a fuss about anything. But after this treatment I felt compelled to write a review in hopes that it will help someone else avoid this situation. I will not be coming back and hope that she sees this review, and thinks more clearly about how she treats all of her patients in the future. read more
