If you're from the mainland USA, the store is similar to our 7/11s with much better cooked food…read moreoptions even when the food truck isn't there. My evaluation is for the store. I walked the short .5 miles from the Sheraton Resort & Casino to get some steps in, get lower prices and PR street type food's I'll call it for lack of a better term. I hit the trifecta. I pointed to two cooked food things, whatever they were, and both were delish, one said pollo so I knew that was chicken. The other was some queso name and so that was my 2nd thingie. I could have used my translation app but where's the fun in that(shrug). I added 2, ten oz Medalla Light beers and my bill was $7 and some change. Sheraton can't touch that! Plus this is more adventurous for us mainlanders, IMHO. The place is clean and the walk short and thru a safe looking hood, another trifecta. They have ice cream too. To get ice cream at the Sheraton, I was told I had to order it via room service (lordy).None of their many eating places had ice cream; sorbet yes-ice cream no. Shop local some while on vacay. Spread those dollars around some.

They have a wide selection of groceries, fresh produce, prepared foods, and household items. I was hoping to find more unique Puerto Rican snacks and specialty products, but the selection of local-exclusive items wasn't as extensive as I expected. Looking back, I wish I had picked up more of their local hot sauces instead! The fresh fruit was excellent, and the hot food section was definitely worth checking out. The fried chicken was surprisingly delicious--crispy, flavorful, and perfect for a quick meal while on vacation. One tip: bring your own reusable shopping bag. They charge for bags, although the ones they sell are sturdy and good quality if you end up needing one. Overall, SuperMax is a convenient stop for groceries and ready-to-eat meals, especially if you're staying in an Airbnb or rental during your trip.

I enjoyed my visits to this Pueblo Supermercado location, especially b/c of the huge selection of…read moreunique Puerto Rican snacks & products that I haven't seen anywhere else. It was fun browsing the aisles & discovering local treats to try during my trip. The deli section was my fave part w/ cold cuts available to order, freshly baked bread,cakes/cookies,& prepared salads.Unfortunately, the experience there was a bit disappointing. The employee helping me took quite a while,& my cold cuts I ordered were sliced all the way wrong. Other than that, the store was well-stocked, clean,& offered fairly decent prices. While the deli service could def use some improvement, I'd still recommend stopping by if you're looking to explore local Puerto Rican snacks & specialty items you won't easily find elsewhere. My AIRBNB was close by so I visited this location numerous times. Their homemade tres leches cake was to die for.Creamy, moist, each bite melted in my mouth, just the right amount of sweetness w/ whipped cream & a cherry on top. A must try!

I had a very disappointing experience at the customer service desk at Pueblo Ciudadela Santurce…read more I asked for a stamp in English. After assisting me, two employees began talking to each other about customers who speak English in Puerto Rico. They commented that if someone lives in Puerto Rico, they should speak Spanish, and questioned why people speak English if they already know Spanish. These remarks were made while I was standing there and appeared to be directed at me. I found their comments unprofessional, disrespectful, and inappropriate for customer service employees. Customers should feel welcome and treated with courtesy regardless of whether they choose to communicate in English or Spanish. Puerto Rico is a bilingual community, and no customer should feel judged or mocked for the language they use. I hope management addresses this issue and reminds employees to treat all customers with respect and professionalism.

This store is very comparable to your average grocery store in the US. Lots of fresh produce, bakery, and all the typical items you would normally find in a grocery store. They have a really nice café, my boyfriend loved the coffee he got, and I especially enjoyed my hot chocolate, as they make it with coconut milk which gave it a really wonderful flavor. We stopped back to Ralph's several times during our stay, always finding what we needed at a great price. We even stocked up on a few items to bring home as souvenirs! I would highly recommend!
