They've never mentioned anything about periodontal disease. We go to this place and all of a sudden both my wife and I are diagnosed with periodontal disease with treatments every three months and thousands and thousands of dollars. We were shocked. Thank God, we got a second opinion ... found out our teeth are just fine. Matter of fact, my wife got an A+ from our new dentist. They said absolutely no sign for either one of us of periodontal disease. Getting back to our initial appointment with Aspen dental. He sounded a little upset that that wasn't done and immediately called it in for me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Just got my wisdom teeth pulled and they forgot to call into the pharmacy and give me my prescription for pain meds so i'm going all natural right now. It's only day one and I hear day two is the most agonizing. I told them to call Walgreens but when I went there there was no prescription for me and when they called the dentist office it was a few minutes after they closed and everyone had gone home for the three day weekend. I checked CVS and Wamart just in case they mis-heard me. Nothing. Everything else went smoothly and the office staff was nice enough. Dr. Abdelnour. is very nice and takes the time to explain the process of everything and I trust him and his experience. I just wanted to give you a heads up that the office misses things like this and as a result I will have an agonizing weekend. I will be taking over the counter Ibuprofen so hopefully that will take the edge off enough. We will see.

I arrived at 8:30am for my consultation and extraction of all 4 of my wisdom teeth. I'm from out of town so they did everything that day. I filled out my paperwork and was called back right away. I had my weight and X-Rays completed by one nurse then was put in my room with another nurse who did the medical questions and took my blood pressure. I was very nervous going in because I haven't had any dental work done other than 2 minor fillings in my life. Just talking with the nurse calmed me down drastically. It only took a few minutes after the nurse left for Dr. Joe to come in. They had my husband come back during the consultation, which helped my nervousness as well. I can't even find the words other than beyond amazing to describe Dr. Joe and his bed side manner. He explained everything to me with this calm, soft voice that made even my husband relax about the procedure. My husband had a very bad experience with his wisdom teeth extraction so he was nervous as well. Dr. Joe and his staff are very "touchy" people. Normally that would have freaked me out anywhere else but not here. Dr. Joe would reach out and touch my arm, face by my wisdom teeth, hold my hand when he saw me getting nervous. Then when Dr. Joe was putting my IV in, it was a little painful for me, the two nurses were there. One was standing next to me holding my hand and rubbing my arm lightly. The other stood behind me and was gently rubbing my forehead and hair. I remember the medicine kicking in and looking at the dolphin hanging from the IV rack(I love dolphins so I felt it was a good sign I got the room with the dolphin). Dr. Joe was holding my hand and I can clearly remember looking around at the staff and thinking to myself in my head, "Its okay, they're going to take care of you." I was concerned going in about being put under because I had a bad experience in 2012 after a minor surgery. Before being put under I was nervous and anxious, not relaxed or comfortable at all. I woke up from that in a pure panic and I was worried it would happen again. Nope. I woke up and I was perfectly fine and calm. As for the procedure. Wow!! Even my parents were surprised at how fast I was recovering. I was done by 11:00am, my husband and I stopped to get my pain medication and some food I could eat, we went back to my parents and I was up and moving. I had tenderness but nothing that sidelined me. I didn't need to lay down until around 3:00pm and only laid down for an hour or so. That night I went shopping with my mom, the next day my husband and I took a day trip to Las Vegas. I have only had minor pain(really only where my jaw was open wide for so long) and they are healing great!! Great doctor and staff!!!

It's far better than a sterile, cold, florescent lit hospital facility type practice. Nobody enjoys trips to the dentist, so all the comfort you can get is very much welcomed. All the staff I encountered were very friendly. The receptionist, assistant, and Dr. Sturms himself. As I sat in the examination chair, I had a nice view of the beautiful backyard, and despite my concerns about my situation, I was able to relax because of the pleasant environment. The doctor checked me out, performed some x-rays. Gave me my diagnosis, wrote me a prescription, and told me what needed to be done, and I was on my way.
