On June 28th I dropped a survey off with Chelsea Rodriguez attorney in the Vista Realty Building…read more She informed me that the follow week, was the week of 4th of July & that she would try to get it done that week. But if not it would be done the next week (july 8th-12th). I thanked her and walked out the door.
2 weeks later (July 12th, see date stamped photo) I messaged to follow up as I hadn't heard from her.
She said "Not yet! I have that deed draft on my calendar for next week, and will let you know when it's time to come by and sign! "
I said Thank you! And waited.
On July 19, I got a message "Cheyenne, I went to draft your deed today but the county deed's website is down with the massive update outage everyone seems to be experiencing. I'm going to put this on my calendar to do next week asap; I will be out of the office but if I have time I'm going to knock that deed out, and we will plan on signing the week of the 29th." (Again, see photo)
Unfortunate that she waited until Friday at 11:30 to try to draft, When it was supposed to be done this week, And Now she will be OUT the following week, But ok.
So I say "ok" because obviously nothing can be done & she said she would get it done ASAP.
The following Friday, July 26th, I went by her office, I miss read the text thought it was the 26th, but was actually the 29th.
I message her to let her know I messed up but would be there the Monday the 29th.
She the tells me it's not done & now the 29th won't work. But she can have it done by the Tuesday the 30th & come by my office to have me sign!
Unfortunately, when I originally dropped the survey off to her, I noticed that the names of the neighbors, did not match my previous survey. Chelsea told me not to worry about it. The survey company made it like that ,that's how it was supposed to be. Took her word for it! And left it with her.
On Friday, july 26th, I decided, I should go by the survey company & just make sure.
They told me, it did have to be redone to get all copies back to them ASAP, I messaged Chelsea on the 26th, asked if I could get them that day or the 29th, she told me the 29th.
I picked them up at 10:30am and informed her that they would be dropped off back to her within a couple hours that same day.
The survey company made corrections & dropped back off to her 2 hours later,
As far as I knew we were still on for the 30th.
The 30th came & went and nothing.
So Today, July 31, (accidentally wrote July 30th on the text message between her & I)
I message her to confirm that she would be by today or Thursday. & that we were closed on Friday so I would need to go to her, if it was going to be on Friday.
And AGAIN, she informed me that it wasn't done & would get to it the following Monday.
I simply asked her if she was Sure she could get it done the following Monday, As She Knows I am on a timeline with the State of North Carolina!
She took that as me being rude & decided to take a lot of Aggression Out on me today.
She informed me that her father passed away & that she was out dealing with stuff for him.
I had no clue about any of her family issues. Would she have told me that she was too busy dealing with things for her father's estate, I would've completely understood!! And taken it elsewhere.
She then decided to throw in that I tried to use her 2 years ago as a closing attorney.
Unfortunately the house that I was in contract with, the roof fell in, yes, the roof!
I did back out of closing due to the roof falling in & the owners not agreeing to have it fixed.
I did end up purchasing a home two years ago, my realtor decided to use someone else, not Chelsea, I have no clue why. And at that time, I did not know I could pick my own closing attorney.
I feel like Chelsea was extremely unprofessional and very Rude. Everytime she put me off, I said OK thank you. I felt like I was More Than Understanding!
I understandw that people pass away & that comes w/ a lot of emotion. But it is never understandable to take that aggression out on a client. Who's done nothing to you, but asked if you had completed the work you said you would.
I don't know if this is all due to incompetence, or if she had some animosity towards me for not using her in the past.
