I had it towed to Wuerflein Chevrolet Dealer, and was relieved when they told me the repairs would be covered by my warranty company. The service people did the repairs and got it on the road for me. I appreciate their hard work, or this would be a one star. The problem I had was when it was being finished. First, they called and told me my brakes were bad and "might make it back to Kansas City". This seemed odd to me since I live in a state that has annual inspections. The state had just measured my brakes to pass the inspection. The bigger issue came when I showed up to pick the car up. I was expecting the $100 warranty deductible, and they handed me a bill for several hundred dollars. They apparently cleaned an area that they said would not be covered by warranty. If it was refused, maybe it is something that should have been included in the over $3000 they charged for the parts install? At no time did they tell me they were doing several hundred dollars of unauthorized "cleaning". I would have asked my mechanic before authorizing it, and could have been more prepared if I had known that charge was added on. Even stranger, the guys would not give me a receipt for the cash I gave them. I don't know a business that is legitimately running and doesn't give receipts, especially for several hundred in cash. Is that normal for Minnesota? My family has been in Albert Lea for over thirty years, and I have never heard of not giving receipts. I don't know if they just don't do that, did they pocket my money, or are they just hiding from #DeptOfRevenue?
