Pacific Medical Prosthetics and Orthotics - Head scanner and computer, with plenty of toys to distract the kids during the scan!

Sometimes babies are born with, or develop flat spots around the back or side of their head. Their…read moreskull is still soft and growing, and sleeping too much on one side can cause this. Having flat spots don't impact brain development, and its more of a cosmetic issue when the baby gets older. To correct this, our pediatrician recommended physical therapy and helmet therapy. Helmet therapy isn't as scary as it sounds. The orthotist, Bobby Smith is great with kids and explained the process well. First the child's head is scanned with a STARscanner to develop 3D and 2D profiles of the head. They then develop a helmet for your child to eventually wear 23 hours/day for several months. You have dozens of cool colors and designs to choose from! Follow-up appointments every 2 to 4 weeks for rescan. I'm happy to see that for about a month, my son's flatness level decreased from "severe" to "moderate." Hopefully after a month or two it'll be in the "normal" category. The helmet isn't too bad for babies and they seem to get used to it quickly. Occasionally, you'll need to take it off for a few minutes if there's too much itching. The other aspects of helmet treatment are: * Protects the baby against falls when they sit too long or bump when on their tummy * Their head butts are going to hurt you more, so watch out * Surprisingly they sleep incredibly well with the helmet - perhaps because the head is well cushioned. * Provides extra head warmth - great for fall and winter but not for summer.

My child was evaluated for a cranial remolding helmet. Bobby was great at explaining the process,…read moreand the office staff was a pleasure to work with. The room where we saw the practitioner was decorated in welcoming child friendly theme. I received a call to approve my share of cost before anything was ordered, and our order was filled within a couple weeks. I highly recommend this office!

They were all excellent physicians, but none came close to having the empathy, expertise and professionalism that Dr. Rao provides. He's truly the kindest, best informed, and most communicative physician from whom I've ever received care. His active listening skills are extraordinary. Dr. Rao's staff is likewise top tier. It's a delight to work with Amber, Patricia and Natalia, each of whom is efficient, accurate and altogether pleasant. If you're seeking a neurosurgeon for yourself, a family member or a friend, you'll receive no finer care than that provided by Dr. Rao and his staff.

He was the most compassionate doctor I have ever had provide care for me. November 2024 I needed to have a similar surgery by another surgeon and I should have reached out to Dr. Rao for an evaluation. I now recently had the symptoms return even worse and MRI shows I likely need surgery again. If anyone knows how I can reach Dr. Rao, please send a alternate contact number or email. The information on the website is a dead end.

Dr Kenneth Hsiao (pronounced--Shaow) has been following me for prostrate/bladder issues for about…read more15 years. He has been nothing short of professional, thorough and kind in caring for this very sensitive area for men. For years, he had me on meds to deal with enlarged prostate issues, until those meds no longer did the trick. Together, we explored options and chose an Aquablasion procedure done in the hospital, to clean out the prostate gland and give a more healthy solution than medicine. That was in May of 2024. It was extremely successful and aside from him not allowing me to resume normal running, cycling and pushups, etc, for a month, it went flawlessly. That procedure was highly successful, and he handled himself like a true professional. Recently, I had bladder issues, and he was able to resolve them with precision and his care was exemplary. If you have Urological issues, I highly recommend getting in to see him. He is the consummate professional and bears the standard that health professionals should all follow.

How she got a job there or anywhere for that matter I will never know. I really think someone should explain to her that she actually works in the medical field and people are actually in pain when they are trying to get in touch with the Drs. that work at this medical facility so a much more pleasant demeanor would be a lot more acceptable. This discourteous individual then proceeded to tell me that the Dr. doesn't have any appointments until a month from the time that I am actually calling, then basically hung up on me. I will never be recommending anyone to NorCal Urology and I will be letting my primary care doctor know how unprofessional and rude the front desk is over there as well, as they might not want to be referring patients to such an unnecessarily nasty experience. I then proceeded to make an appointment at a different establishment where the receptionist who answered was friendly and courteous and very thorough and this place will be seeing me by the end of the week. So no to ever wanting to go to or recommending anyone to NorCal Urology when there are so many other establishments that hire competent personable people who know how to answer a phone. If I could give zero stars I would!
