Dishonest Man. I thought Bill Collette was one of the few honest, strait shooting people around Lincoln, Arkansas, and it turns out he's just like alot of other shady businessmen around here. I had him dig a pond out on my property...I asked him to be mindful of the property line from day one, yet he dumped dirt on the neighbor side anyway... When I discovered this he said "it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission". Well a few weeks later the neighbor complained and I called Bill and asked him to push the dirt back over to my side.. and even gave him the phone number of the pissed neighbor so that he could show him exactly where the line was (it's pretty obvious to everyone except Bill apparently). He went back and pushed the dirt again. Keep in mind this is undeveloped land that I didn't live on..so I was not in the state. I thought everything was fine at this point..till my neighbor called and said 2 truckloads of dirt was still on his property ... he wanted to put in a fence and needed it moved. I contacted Bill again, and he seems very dismissive as if the neighbor should just live with it. I asked him to make this right, since he's the one who pushed it there to begin with..and boy did his true colors shine through. All of a sudden, Bill quit returning calls, text messages and became very sketchy to reach. And if I did get a response... He was in Mexico, his dozer broke, his in laws are in town. blah, blah, blah... for MONTHS this went on. Keep in mind I paid this guy $24,000 CASH to put in some gravel, do some tree dozing, and dig out the pond.. and I always kept my work and played NO games with him. I called repeatedly from my normal number and never got Bill to pick up... but as soon as I called from a different number..BINGO! Bill answered... and once he knew it was me he said he has poor connection and hung up. So today i texted him (calls were being ignored) I basically told him I'm done chasing him and begging him to fix this issue, and he tried to justify his poor treatment of me on a cell phone battery I put in his phone as a FAVOR for $10 (the cost of the battery). He said it wouldn't hold a charge, and I installed a used battery, and it melted. WHAT?! I think it's his way of justifying flat out screwing me in his mind. If he had a defective battery, why not simply tell me and allow me to fix it?? He NEVER mentioned this "used/ melting battery" until I said this was gonna turn ugly..how can you be mad at someone for not fixing a problem you never told them you had?!? I don't think a cell phone battery is the issue here at all. Bill Collette is a crooked guy who comes off as a "Christian" of high morals and values, but is really a snake in the grass..... and I would suggest avoiding him at all costs. read more
