Came here for the Air Show. The Thunderbirds came here for this weekend. The entertainment was…read moregreat if not the best. The parking was terrible getting in as I describe it as "malfunction junction". It took one hour to drive one mile. Finally, had to park in the grass area of the airport. Problem. We had to pay $20 for parking yet on the internet it said $10 per car. We also had to pay $20 for admission ticket. Their was no place to sit and had to stand in line for an hour to get bar b q. So,we went out to the truck to rest and watch air show from the comfort of our seats and make use or our tail gate for the first time. Then, just as the Thunderbirds were starting their show, this guy on a "Bad Boys"type vehicle comes up and tells us we can't sit outside in our pickup truck to watch the air show. Yet, hundreds if not thousands were doing it. He fussed at others too but no one did what he said. He wasn't a cop nor did he work for the airport. There's military police, real police and aviation security only a footballs throw away and they didn't say nothing. One of them even came up and talked to us and invited us to ride a helicopter. Most of all, I'm not going back in their and sit on the ground and watch airplanes do stunts. It's my Chevy, my girl friend, and my tail gate. I just spent $120 here and in there, I see no rules at their website nor signs posted. Plus theirs some 40 year old drunks in front of my Silverado playing "toss the football". So, I moved my truck to the fence line where the guy on the "bad boys" type vehicle can't come up and complain to us about sitting in our pickup truck to watch the air show. Anyway, great Thunderbirds show. It was full of all types of entertainment. In summary. air show, helicopter rides, bands playing music, a bar b q festival and to end the day a fireworks show. Wow.

It's a well-oiled machine and, unlike some check in points, I actually look forward to the process here. Ok, quick story. It was an early morning flight in 2025. We drove an hour to the Chattanooga Airport, mostly because we got a great deal and know the routine here. So, I get to the standing scanner and it's easy. I stand with my feet apart and hold my arms over my head in a diamond shape just like on the diagram. I'm confident. The agent tells me to "stick your left leg out." So i do. I hold my foot out in front of me and I'm pretty impressed with my balance at this hour and at my age. (I'm not coordinated or especially athletic.) I keep holding it up. For quite awhile now. I start to wonder what is taking so long. I look over to the agent for clarification. She's doubled over laughing. I am still holding my foot out, like I'm doing the first move in the Hokey Pokey in here at 545am. She tells me that I can put my foot down and just move it over an inch so that it's on top of the little foot outlines on the floor. So, "stick your left leg out" REALLY MEANT to just slide it over an inch. "Have a nice flight, Sir, and thanks for the laugh."

Small but mighty one might say. It may be that the Chattanooga Airport only has 5 gates that makes…read morethis TSA so great but whatever it is I'll take it. The team is friendly and effective at what they do. They also have some serious equipment working. This was the first full body scanner I had been through. And I got a pat down and swab for explosives! I found it exciting! Maybe it was a slow day, maybe I looked boom-y? Either way I didn't mind and they made the process easy. The TSA officers were very friendly, knowledgeable and great at what they do. They even noticed my Bob's Burgers backpack featuring Tina "Boys, Butts and Unicorns" and complemented me in it.
