Friday just after the Spring semester had ended (we were heading to campus for a recruiting visit with one of the coaches), and all of us (my wife, our son, and I) were very impressed with the service and especially the food! My wife and I both ordered the Russian, and it was fantastic! We ended up talking to a couple of the kids that worked there, both are scholar-athletes at Southwestern College, and both were very well-spoken, mannered, and bright... The beverage options are numerous. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. For me the menu items are the best! There is a wide range of freshly made, delicious bakery treats and a scrumptious breakfast and lunch menu. Yesterday I had a bowl of the Rainy Day Chicken Soup served with a pot of green tea. The soup was amazing packed with vegetables and a thick broth. I even bought a cookbook to get the soup recipe. It gets crowded a round noon, but there were plenty of seating options. read more

April 2021 Due to Covid the interior was not open. They had a walk-up counter set up on the smaller porch to the side of what I think is the main entrance. Had the symphony of flavors smoothie and it was SO good. The texture is great, thinner than one with yogurt would be. Had whipped cream on top. Served in an eco friendly cup-appreciated. This place is amazing. As a Starbucks snob from Dallas, I was looking for good coffee on a work trip to Winfield and boy did I find it! They have unusual coffee drinks, iced matcha with lavender foam was my latest try. The coffee is hot and it smells amazing inside. You can order through a window on the porch or go inside, it's in a house tucked in a neighborhood. Big menu of options plus baked goods (the locals tell me the peanut butter sheet cake is to die for) and quiche, sandwiches. Not only did we stop here for mocha cold brews but we ordered box lunches for about 15 people. The sandwiches were fresh with veggies and the sides included fruit, cottage cheese and broccoli salad. Healthy score! I cannot say enough about the food, drinks, and ambience here. Service is a tad slow but super friendly and you can order ahead if you're in a rush. Again, from the big city and we all rued the fact that we didn't have anything quite as cozy and funky where we live. Five stars baby!!!! read more

This was my place on Friday mornings. We met there for a men's study but as excited as I was to meet my friends, I loved the quiche and breakfast items and homemade breads they offer every day. It's an actual house that the coffee house is located at and there are French doors to close and a fireplace with cozy chairs to relax in. Food is good, but overpriced. They are S-L-O-W if you're the only customer, AND if the line is out the door. Doesn't matter, you will never be in and out. Try their waffles, they are very good. Great location to hang out, have lunch, or get a coffee. It is not the ultimate best food or best coffee, but it does a great job and is much higher standard than I expected in a small town. A great find in a pretty run down little town. A comfortable collegiate atmosphere with wonderful French press coffee and other choices as well. Coming from a Californian Starbucks is considered the number one choice for coffee, but if there was a college hill coffee in town I'd for sure make it my go to spot any day.
