One of the Largest Zip line in North America…read more Full disclosure -- it was my friend who actually had the adventurous experience on the zip line. They had people zip lining Superman style (flat on their belly), people on a bike on a unique bike zip line and a lot of other zip line opportunities. If you buy the full 5-zip line experience, that's the best bang for your money, climbing and walking is required to get to the top of one of the zip line towers (I couldn't do it with a bad foot). They also had a small cafe for snacks in a lodge-style building, which offered an excellent vantage point to view the zip lining. A full sit down restaurant is located at the very top of the building, the food was tasty and good, the drinks were tropical and refreshing. We were fortunate to have rented a car, so we drove to this location, which was not in the capital city, centrally located. You'll have to arrange transportation to this adventure park, or rent lodging somewhere close by, for a tranquil relaxing mountain retreat. Hope this help you to have the adventure of your life.

Permanent exhibits provide great historical perspective into Puerto Rico's place in history of the Americas. There were also several special exhibits of local artists and printmakers that were outstanding. One of which was closing on the day we visited and two others to close within the next month, but I am sure they will be replaced with similarly intriguing exhibits. The museum focuses on Puerto Rican artists and their influences over time. Well air-conditioned if you need a break from the heat and convenient to everything. There were three birthday parties taking place and an hour later a giant club ( with uniforms and all) arrived along with other groups. We were only able to play foe one hour. Apparently Saturday's are very busy in the afternoon/evening. I would recommend reserving a space. They have a cafeteria and a sports bar, and also a game room. Unfortunately the game room was reserved for one of the birthdays. My kid was disappointed. Next time, and there will be a next time because we had lots of fun.

A Must-Visit for History Buffs!…read more For all the history buffs out there, I highly recommend visiting Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Castillo San Cristóbal in San Juan, Puerto Rico! The history behind these fortresses is fascinating, the views are magnificent, and the park rangers are incredibly friendly, especially Javier. Javier is a fantastic storyteller who brings the history to life. And most importantly, he appreciates Pink Floyd! My husband was wearing a Pink Floyd T-shirt, which caught Javier's attention and gave us a fun little connection. What made our visit even more amazing was that we explored the two fortresses on different days, yet somehow, Javier happened to be working at each castle on two consecutive days. Talk about a coincidence! Even better, for just $20, you can visit both castles within 24 hours of purchasing your ticket, making it a great value for anyone interested in history, architecture, and breathtaking views. If you're visiting San Juan, don't skip these historic fortresses. Come for the history and the views, and you might just leave with a memorable story of your own!

Great visit to Castillo San Felipe del Morro on a Sunday morning…read more Arrived when they opened up at 9am and there was no wait to get in. Spectacular views of the castle itself as well the surrounding areas. Lots of history about the castle displayed through some great exhibits. Lots of walking, hills and some stairs throughout...so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Great gift shop. Friendly and helpful staff throughout. Admission fee is $10, but grants access to Castillo San Felipe del Morro as well as the nearby Castillo San Cristobal up until the following day...so be sure to take advantage and visit both within that period. There is a reasonably-priced nearby parking garage (Ballaja Parking Garage) just a short walk to the entrance. There is also free street parking along Bulevar del Valle in the early morning hours.
