They have some amazing bakery items that I can't get elsewhere nearby. They also have great range stocked in most items. Pricewise is on par with the other big retailers with some good specials thrown in to attract you. This one is very community orientated and they seem to have a lot of competitions and support a lot of local places - which is great. In addition (not that I have ever used it but still think it's great) they have a "short stop" area inside the store where you can make yourself a coffee and sit down and read a paper for a bit. This is a fantastic idea for the elderley and they seem to contain most "try before you buy" and sample type offers to that area, which makes it easier to shop around the rest of the store.

But we always support Foodland rather than the other big-name 'evil' supermarket that is also in the Hallett Cove Shopping Centre complex - it supports local growers and products, and is a far more ethical choice. As far as Foodlands go, this one is pretty big - it has a good selection of fresh fruit and veg (much better than it's competitor!), and a fair selection of gourmet local options. Not as gourmet as some of the renovated Foodlands (like Brighton), but hopefully that will be changing in the near future. Another plus is that the carpark in this shopping centre is huge - you are always likely to get a good park so you don't have to carry your groceries too far!

On the front of the shop you will find their poultry section. They only sell chicken meat here, I've never had bad chicken. You can buy marinated chicken steaks too. On the other side of the display fridge you will find some Malaysian delicacies. Try their Satay Sauce and Curry Puffs. We buy their curry puffs everytime we pass by. Good range of items and very tidily organized. What I found most impressive about the supermarket was the fact that it was incredibly well presented with the new renovations. It looked like a modern supermarket and had a great professional theme to it. The bakery had a nice sign and the signs above the aisles also looked incredibly pleasant to the eye. I guess it is really just the little things but the state of the trolleys was even impressive. I got one that was in no way defected and although I could tell it was not new, it was still very shiny.
