It's a Coles, mostly the same as any other. This one has an in-store bakery, mobile phone mini shop, self checkouts, and a decently stocked deli. read more

The best thing about Coles Port Melbourne I have found is their self serve salads and fresh fruit bar. I love this particular Coles because there is heaps of parking available, it's adjacent to the market, there are always good deals going on and there is a great selection of multicultural food that I can buy at any time, because it's always open! Easy to navigate layout, friendly staff at the tills and heaps of product available. This is my go-to Coles when I see a good deal on and I want to stock up or am looking for those ingredients that aren't so common and generally aren't found in other supermarkets.

And right next the entrance of Melbourne Central Station there is this grocery store. " The Urban Asian Grocery" reads the slogan on the pillar out front. It had great range of chips with all kinds of Asian flavors, like masala. And the guys kind of compete to bring unusual chip flavors when they come over for our regular Wednesday night games night. This week I had the most novel flavor of chips. Otherwise it is a pretty regular grocery store - what more can I say?

Sure, they've got a good variety of Asian goods, yeah its in a central location in Melbourne Central conveniently near the train station, and it is clean and pretty. Supermarkets are big and sometimes when you can't find something, you need to swallow your pride and ask for it. Do the staff give you shit, or are they actually helpful? This particular Coles hits 2/3. It's located just at the Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre, so you could do a bit if shopping after a film, quick browse at IKEA, whatever floats your boat. It's relatively clean and spacious with a wide selection inside as well. The only mark that Coles doesn't hit is the customer service. Hallam was sorely in need of a bigger supermarket without residents having to drive fifteen minutes to surrounding suburbs to buy milk and bread (without having to fork over ridiculous money for it). They allowed enough room for on-site parking which can be a bit of a pain at peak times but just means you'll have to be a courteous driver.
