I recently volunteered for a local conservation charity - BTCV and we did some work in tidying up and helping landscape Coldfall Wood.
The charity was set up in 1959, and has a successful history of environmental conservation volunteering throughout the UK. One of their values is to ensure that they help maintain a sustained environmental improvement: A healthy environment and improved biodiversity is at the heart of all BTCV's activities
I had never heard of Coldfall before, but soon after I arrived to work with the group, I fell in love with it. It's a haven of peace and tranquility in London. BTCV have done an excellent job of making the woodland accessible to all and ensuring it's a beautiful space to spend time for anyone who wishes to. There's a conservation space which encourages new plants and trees to grow and develop.
Lots of dog walkers enjoy this peaceful space, but I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to go for a walk and experience the best of what nature has to offer on our door step! read more
