There's a sign that states where the line starts with poles guiding people as to where they should be falling in line. Like numerous others, I didn't see the sign. People started falling in line by the window, which is where I was sitting. I eventually moved my seat. Now, I totally understand what the hype is all about. They offer fruits, sauces, and crunch options that other frozen yogurt companies do not offer. While I was falling in line, someone was writing down what I wanted to order. I was impressed that she upsold me. I was asked which option I wanted. I opted for a cup or tub. Then she asked if I wanted a medium or a large. She didn't ask if I wanted a small, medium, or large. I'm thankful I ordered a medium! The couple behind me had a slight misunderstanding because the female ordered small for them to share. He didn't sound happy with her choice. Eventually, she changed the order to a larger size. I knew that I wanted mango. I am thankful that the employee suggested the Biscoff crunch and sauce. Oh my gosh, I slowly ate my yogurt. I wanted to enjoy every crunch with the sauce and yogurt. They gave a generous amount of everything. I would highly recommend llaollao!

Yes, you read it right: She did not only choose to drive to the next barangay to get her ice cream. It was really just a pint of ice cream that she was thinking of buying and it already would cost her PhP 400! This ice cream must be really good, I said to myself. For making us visit another barangay for just a pint, it had to be. The circumstances really made me curious about this ice cream. Jokingly, I told my friend that I wouldn't leave her place without having tasted even just a spoonful. And, like a good friend indeed, when I told her I were to leave in a few minutes, she gave me a cup of Carmen's Salted Caramel Ice Cream. Just one taste and my leaving was stalled for awhile. That Salted Caramel was sooo delicous. Very sweet, rich and creamy. I could tell the makers really did not skimp on the ingredients. Sinful, I felt sinful. Not because of partaking of this heavenly ice cream, but for judging it before even tasting it. Forgive me, Carmen, whoever you are. Not again will I be skeptical about your creation. When they say your ice cream is the best, they really mean it. Even just one pint is worth a drive to the next barangay.

And before you think about contesting this statement, know that this is coming from an ice cream aficionado. I have no ties with the owner of Carmen's Best. Also, if you're contesting this, I hope that you've actually tasted CB. The Malted Milk flavor I guarantee will bring you to your knees. It is UNPARALLELED in its taste, consistency and texture and I can tell that the ingredients used are the finest of their kind. Eating this ice cream is a luxury and an otherworldly experience. I'm not one to talk about food like this, but it's true.

Last time I went they only had 4 ice cream flavors on their menu, but hopefully this increases cause I think their ice cream is the main selling point. I love their Milo dinosaur gelato because of both the flavor and the texture! It was rich and creamy without being so dense, and the idea behind it is interesting and out-of-the-box just like their other flavors. Service was slow but acceptable considering they'd just opened. Worth coming back to! Looking forward to trying their other dishes as well.

Liquid nitrogen gelato is not that different from the regular ice cream but what makes it worth trying is that you are assured of its freshness. FYI, it's made from fresh cow's milk. Upon ordering, the ice cream of your choice is made right in front of you by their well-trained staff. In just a few minutes, and with a little help from liquid nitrogen, they can turn milk into a smooth and creamy ice cream. If you're a coffee lover, I highly recommend their Tiramisu ice cream topped with a piece of broas. It's really good! A cup costs around Php 150.00 but the serving is generous enough for two. They also serve pasta and sandwiches that are just as good. They are still improving on their menu but it doesn't make the experience any different.

If you like ice cream with a better mouthfeel and smooth, sweet, creamy goodness, go for Coldstone. If you prefer ice cream that's a little more on the heavier side with chunks and swirls, go for Baskin. So I suppose it's like asking how you like your peanut butter: smooth or chunky. BR is definitely the chunky peanut butter of the ice cream scoopery market. Is this a bad thing? No, not really. Again, it all depends on how you like your ice cream. Even the flavors that didn't have chunks in them (cotton candy, chocolate...) had a certain denseness to them. A good denseness. It kept the flavor rich and lingering in your mouth even after you swallow it down. And their flavors are great, too. Normally, I know exactly what I want within a couple of samples. I have to admit, I waffled between their Movie Theater Popcorn (Sweet and buttery -- like Kettle Corn... except colder), Praline and Cream, Caramel Praline Cheesecake and Caramel Truffle Turtle. (Seeing a pattern here yet?). Pity they didn't have the Cherries Jubillee. I would've had a harder time trying to decide. In the end, I went with the cheesecake. The cheesecake was mostly in the ice cream but man, whole pecans. That's something you don't regularly see. So the price is midrange, around the 150php price range with is usually expected for imported ice cream. They let you have as many samples as you want. There's even a "create your own sundae" thing. But there's a certain chaos to it when the crowds come in. You have people with huge parties who can't make up their minds and need to try every single flavor twice thus crowding up the counter... and people with kids. So, I'd recommend waiting for crowds to disperse before approaching. Thankfully that happens quickly. Staff works quick and knows how to multitask at least.

Not long after, this branch also closed down. I was heart broken. More than 15 years after closing, Baskin Robbins is at it again trying its luck in the Philippine market. And no one is more excited than I am. While this ice cream joint is popular for their wide array of ice cream flavors, I only get one flavor when I order which is their Jamocha flavor. Creamy, coffee-like and with so many nuts! Makes me a happy kid every time. Thanks for bringing back my childhood memories Baskin Robbins!

It's definitely the place for me to go to for my Bingsu Fix. The place is quite spacious and I love staying by the window side of the cafe. It overlooks BGC; nice and bright in the afternoon. If it's your first time to try Bingsu, go for the fruity options: Strawberry or Mango Cheese. For me, I always get a regular size of the Injeolmi Bingsu and Mango. For the Injeolmi, you'll be surprised with the amount of rice cake cubes in it! Each spoonful you'll scoop up a good portion of finely shaved milk ice + rice cake + soy bean powder. I always love the bite and the chewiness. On my last visit, they now have a new flavor: Match Bingsu! Definitely a must try! If you want something different, try the sweet potato bread with injeolmi. It's not too sweet but quite filling. Very tasty and worth a try. Right now, you can get condensed milk for free at the side! Don't put too much though. The Bingsus are sweet enough! :P

Must be the record-breaking heat we've been having. Or maybe they're just really good. Located at the 3rd floor of Bonifacio Stopover, Hobing is a little hidden - the establishments beside it are salons, nail spas, a gym. It's a great location though for a dessert place to move to after having lunch - considering the 1st and 2nd floors of Bonifacio Stopover are full of places to eat! The shaved ice itself is really smooth and soft, and comes with its own flavor to match whatever toppings are on the shaved ice. And what makes it even better - they don't skimp on the toppings. If you order the strawberry bingsu, you'll find a lot of strawberries on top and inside the ice as well. They also offer toast and other snacks, but people come mostly for the shaved ice. I'm not surprised but when there are a lot of people, it could take some time for your order to come. And this place also gets full during weekends. I also wish they had wifi. Or maybe it's better that they didn't so people would leave quicker and give others a chance at shaved ice goodness. I love this place and will come back! With this heat, I hope they make a serving that I can dip my whole body into so I can roll around in snowy soft shaved ice.
