Shockingly bad customer service. A line out the door at 7pm on a summer evening and only two people working. Very loudly one employee said repeatedly "our third person called off today". Even though they were short handed, the two employees there could not move any slower than they did. Well staffed location that handles a lot of tourist business, at least when I've frequented. It's in a large strip shopping center next door to a Papa John's Pizza so there's plenty of parking. Ice cream is cold and served up quickly and there's close to 8 or so tables in which to sit down. Air conditioning inside is blasting cold as well. Prices are high; a like it size at this location will run you over 6 bucks after tax, so be aware. But, on a tremendously scorching summer day in North Myrtle, what's better than quality, creamy ice cream? No free WiFi. Bummer. read more

My husband and I decided to pop in on a Saturday evening for a little treat. There were approximately 6 to 8 customers in front of us when we entered. I watched as Sam... The only staff member on duty... worked her tail off!! I was so impressed to see how she conducted herself and provided excellent customer service to everyone that was in front of her. Worst customer service EVER!!!! I ordered my daughters birthday cake to be picked up today EIGHT days ago. It was pre-paid, and we drove 25 minutes to pick it up because it was the cake she wanted. We get there to pick it up in the early afternoon and get a sign on the door stating they are closed for weather. It is not even sprinkling here, and there is no rain in the forecast until 11 PM. Only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is simply because of the ice cream. I've had it many times in Fredericksburg and it's always yummy. But straight up the staff sucks. We have frequented this location many times. Service is poor, wait is long but ice cream is good. We have waited in line for over an hour while two employees work the counter. Never understand why one works the counter while another rings the register. Would be more productive if they both would scoop ice cream. Customers left in the middle and some turned around when they saw the long line. This is not how people want to spend their vacation with small children. This past weekend we looked up their hours and it said open until 9:00 pm. At 8:30 they were closed. Chairs up on tables and lights off. We went to Painters ice cream down the road where we received great ice cream and great service. I looked up yelp then and checked Coldstone and it said 7 minutes remaining until closed. Guess the staff closed early. Painters ice cream is an alternative for ice as well as Kirks. They both are just several miles down the road. Both are quick and very good. read more

So let me start by saying I haven't had an experience like this at this location..we come here (to myrtle beach) every year and always go to cold stone once. Tonight was different. We waited in line for 54 minutes. The serving staff weren't wearing gloves. They were WAY understaffed and the line was out the door. They were taking turns walking to the back of the store and seemed far too content with the hour wait time. None of the staff had any sense of urgency. Tonight, I give this store one star. I tried to get ice cream for my daughter on Memorial Day weekend. Two people working and about 25 people in line. The two people (one male and one female) working were the most unorganized team I have ever seen. She attempted flirty banter with him constantly and he bantered back. It was so cute (Sarcasm intended). Because they were understaffed and crowded, they needed a good "flow" or assembly line to get people served. They were floundering. No clue. And the worst part is the girl who was serving was making ice cream soup for everyone. It was gross. People were complaining. We left after waiting 20 minutes only to see 3 people get ice cream soup. I truly feel it would have taken at least one more hour to be served. And then we would have gotten $6 ice cream soup. No thanks. Oh and this was not just a bad night. The worst night for sure....but every other time I've been in here the service has been slow and backed up with only 2 people working. It's the recurring theme. Where is the manager?
