We didn't meet Garrett of Aderyn until the morning of the wedding, and that didn't present a problem. Garrett is incredibly responsible/reliable, very organized, well-prepared, talented, experienced, a clear communicator, and a good listener. Based on email exchanges and one or two phone calls, Garrett got a good feeling for what we wanted and delivered in spades. I've been to weddings where the videographers were obvious and super distracting and clunky with their lights, equipment, and filming. Besides speaking up a couple of appropriate times when they needed to collaborate with us, we barely noticed Aderyn was there, which was great because it let us focus on each other and our loved ones. Aderyn truly did a fantastic job with everything: capturing the emotional moments and the highlights, presenting the day from different angles and points of view so that it felt like a whole, multi-layered story, and top-notch post-production editing. Aderyn was able to capture and relay the intangible parts of that amazing, happy, once-in-a-lifetime day and preserve it all for us. Many friends who saw the sneak-peek trailer said it seemed like the trailer to a movie they wanted to watch. It was the highest quality. I hired Garrett from Aderyn as a VERY last-minute wedding videographer, and he really came through…read more I was trying to keep costs low since I squeezed this into our budget very late, but I wanted to have some kind of tricky audio stuff recorded for posterity. Garrett went out of the way to coordinate with my DJ and make sure all the systems were on track to record some slightly hard-to-capture moments. He also coordinated with my friend who is doing all the video editing work, and went out of his way to make sure his equipment and file type met her needs. Garrett was prompt, friendly, fun, and is even putting together a customized highlights clip as a bonus! He also sent me an MP3 of the song my composer friend had custom arranged, which he caught while our string trio was rehearsing -- it was a better-quality clip since you can actually hear it instead of just people clapping/yelling during the actual ceremony, so it's a really nice bonus for us to revisit. All in all, Aderyn was affordable, flexible, responsible, and showered us with little bonuses -- totally a great blend of exactly what we were looking for! I was married 9/28/14 and had previously arranged all vendors except for videography because when doing the initial budget I had to make priorities, and dj and photography came first. As my wedding date neared I realized I really wanted to have the ceremony at the very least recorded. This vendor Transcend Videography along with many others replied to my ad. Based off his email response, website presence, videos of previous weddings recorded I decided to hire him over the others and he agreed giving me a set price and confirming he would be there. I had the money envelope prepared for him just as I had for the makeup artists, photographer, dj, hairstylists, etc. It wasn't until I was walking down the aisle and I looked around that I noticed no one was filming. I was extremely disappointed but refused to let it spoil my day. Later on I asked my sister, aka one of my bridesmaids if she had seen the videographer or paid him and said she saw no one either. Because we had the extra money I spoke with my photographer and he stayed an extra hour so I got more photos and he said had he known in advance he could have been able to set up a video camera too :( This was my wedding, the most exciting, expensive and happiest single day in my life. And all I have is a tiny, grainy, cell phone video my aunt took of the ceremony. All he had to do was let me know in advance he couldn't do the job. Even the night before. Something! I could have found a replacement. If this is how Brad Betts plans to start his business, I suggest to all brides to look elsewhere!
