Used Cohen chiropractic for a while. Could never book in for massage after adjustment. Adjustments seemed more like a high speed train station than a chiropractic office that was more interested in making money than helping you. I paid in advance for multiple sessions however when I could never get a massage I gave up going. I went to office several times asking for refund of money not used & just got the run around every time. Will call, cheques in the mail etc etc etc. If you treat going to a Chiro like going to Jiffy Lube- go ahead use them. Plenty of better customer orientated options out there!........ read more

I have had three treatments with Dr Lance Cohen (the son, there are two generations of chiropractors practicing here), and the change after my last visit was incredibly powerful. I am getting 'ballooned' which I believe is called Cranio Facial Release. I have had 7+ concussions and a lot of whiplash trauma and am using chiropractic to keep my brain from deteriorating. I don't like to write negative reviews because I know their impact. Yet Yelp exists to help us all make the best decisions about where to spend our money, and this experience was not a good one. Last week, after reading the glowing reviews, I hobbled into Drs. Cohens' office in immense pain, seeking help. I'd filled out the online forms, but Dr. Lance Cohen wanted me to stand at their computer to fill out several more. In pain, this was a challenge, and irritating; he was standing right next to me, yet I was supposed to be noting on a screen my areas of pain, thus exacerbating my pain. When I protested, he insisted that I follow the protocol. After a very brief discussion about what was going on with my body, Dr. Lance proceeded with his brief exam/treatment, exclusively focused on my spine. He also called his father in to briefly use another protocol with me. The total time I was in the office was about 20 minutes, maybe 25, and the cost was $150. I left in just as much pain as I had when I walked in - which seemed of no concern to Dr. Lance. He did call a few days later to follow up, as I did not reschedule, and he suggested that I would be best served elsewhere, which I'd already figured out! I'd found another practitioner and was nearly pain-free by the time he called. Because I am a health practitioner (ZHealth, Movement Therapy, and Pilates), I have many years of experience working with people in pain. I have never encountered a situation in which a client left in as much pain as they arrived with, and I hope that never happens. I have sometimes had to call on a bevy skills to help get them out of pain. On reflection, I realize that Dr. Cohen has a small realm of expertise, which he applied with me with no result, and he had no further skills to offer. That is not a bad thing, just a limitation. So perhaps his skills will benefit you if you go see him; I hope so. read more

Dr. Cohen uses an amazing technique for removing sensitivities to foods and other substances. It is odd, and works really well. I find that I have increased energy and clarity as a result of his ministrations. Nathan Cohen also uses a very gentle form of chiropractic adjusting that got me out of pain after a car crash. He also dealt with the jumpiness I felt when I was behind the wheel, as a result of the crash. read more

Last year I was rear ended in a car accident, and before I started seeing Dr. Lance I had a lot of pain in my right shoulder. I have been a swimmer my entire life and was on the swim team prior to the accident, training at Palomar College and hoping to continue my swimming career at UCSD. The accident set me back a long way in achieving that goal and since then my goal has just been to be able to get back into the water and swimming without any pain. Over the past year I have been to MD's, physical therapy, and other chiropractors and nothing has helped me even come close to achieving this goal. Left with no other option, I went into the doctors to get an MRI on my right shoulder, where I have been experiencing pain. I was told I had a superior labral tear (SLAP tear) and my primary physician told me that I would have to have surgery in order to repair the damage. My girlfriend has been a long time patient of Dr. Lance and highly recommended him to me. I was skeptical at first (I had seen a chiropractor before and had not seen a lot of improvement) but I did not want to have surgery without exhausting every option I had available. I went in to see Dr. Lance and after one session with him I felt amazing, he has done more for me in one 15 min session than any Doctor, Chiropractor or Physical Therapist has done for me in the last year. With the help of Dr. Lance in just a two week period my shoulder has strengthened significantly and with a follow up appointment, my Orthopedic Surgeon is now against having surgery on my shoulder and that I should continue whatever it is that I am doing to treat my shoulder, as it is improving so much. I can honestly say that Dr. Lance has been the primary factor in my recovery and that if I continue my treatment with him, soon I will be back in the pool swimming at the same level I was at before the accident. Cohen is the REAL DEAL! DNFT technique at its finest. I have been treated with this method by DNFT Chiropractors in Northern and Southern California. I rarely leave reviews but had to give a shout out due to the integrity and values held by the Cohen Clinic. I wasn't stoked about the $150 initial visit fee, the follow ups aren't so bad at $90. Additionally they are out of network which seemed like a negative. Funny thing was I never had to go back for a second visit. Which is why I am writing this review a couple years after my first AND ONLY visit. Considering that the majority of chiropractors use the crack and pop method, while charging thousands of dollars per year to their clients, it seems pretty ridiculous to make 1 visit per week for the rest of your life and receive such marginal benefit. If you want to FIX your problem QUICKLY AND INEXPENSIVELY, this is where you should be looking. Cheers! read more
